SELLER REMARKS |

We know you guys love tri-five Chevys, so when this black '57 2-door showed up, we welcomed it with open arms. A cool resto-mod, it has a few tweaks to make it a blast to drive, including a thundering custom stereo system, and quite honestly, this car represents a ton of fun for the money.
Those hot-rod wheels give it a modern look, but the truth is the bodywork is pretty much as GM intended way back in the 1950s. The car was built a few years ago and wears more recent paint, and thanks to modern materials and good bodywork underneath, someone with a little time and talent could give it a cut-and-buff to really take it up a notch. The doors fit well and the two-door bodywork is more rigid than the hardtop, so everything lines up the way it should. Unlike so many resto-mods, this one still wears all its original trim work, most of which was restored or replaced during the build. From the bumpers to the delicate piece of trim along the window sills that accents the little dip in the bodywork, it keeps all the jewelry that makes these cars winners with the public. The anodized side panels are gone, replaced by contrasting paint that gives it a custom look without spoiling the original designers' intent.
The stunning two-tone black and gray interior is recently finished and was custom crafted around a state-of-the-art stereo system. The black bucket seats are wrapped in high-grade vinyl with suede inserts, and the rear bench was upholstered to match. The original dash and gauges were kept in place and look to be in good condition, with the three-spoke steering wheel adding a bit of color to the otherwise monochromatic Chevy. A custom-made center console houses a pair of cup holders for cruising, as well as additional speakers and the CD player, all wrapped in matching black vinyl for a well-integrated look. The carpets and door panels are also new and match the overall theme of the interior. The Chevy's big trunk is put to good use with a full custom installation for a pair of subwoofers in their own removable enclosure, plus the amplifiers and a pair of capacitors to power the system.
Power comes from a 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 which, of course, slides right into the '57's engine bay without modifications. With a mild cam inside, a 4-barrel carburetor up top, and a snarky dual exhaust system, it makes the right hot rod sounds without upsetting the reliability that made these engines famous. Chrome valve covers and a matching air cleaner give it a showy look that brightens up the all black engine bay, and you'll note a heavy-duty alternator to power all that stereo gear and a new master cylinder for the front disc brakes. A TH350 3-speed automatic transmission means you don't have to worry about shifting while you're cruising and with highway-friendly gears in the stock rear end, it's great for long-distance hauls. The undercarriage wasn't restored but the hardware is in good order and this car drives extremely well. Those aforementioned Boss Motorsports wheels certainly make a statement against the old bodywork and carry 245/35/20 performance radials.
This is an awesome cruiser that doesn't break any new ground but instead provides the kind of reliable, care-free cruising that everyone ultimately wants, and the incredible stereo system certainly doesn't hurt. Call today!

UPDATE: Cadillac spokesperson Donny Nordlicht tells Autoblog , "The post speculating on a future Cadillac model derived from the Chevrolet Cruze is completely false." Premium automakers Mercedes-Benz and Audi have seen plenty of success with new small front-drive-based sedans. The CLA-Class had its best January ever this year, while Audi moved more of its new A3 in 2015 than its predecessor sold in 2005 through 2010 combined. The fact that Cadillac wants a piece of that pie is no surprise, then. There's a new rumor that GM's luxury brand could launch its own compact – possibly called CT2 – to battle the Germans. Cadillac, a brand that's pushed hard to rebuild its rear-drive reputation, could develop a new entry-level model based on the front-wheel-drive 2016 Chevrolet Cruze's D2XX platform. Go ahead and make your Cimarron jokes. Sources are telling GM Inside News that a Cadillac built on the Delta platform would ditch the Cruze's turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder for a 1.5-liter turbo in base models. General Motors' well received 2.0-liter turbo four would serve in higher-end models. According to GMIN, the Delta-based Cadillac would likely command a $6,000 to $9,000 premium over the Cruze, so figure $23,000 to $26,000 on the low end to $30,000 to $33,000 for something at the top of the range. As much as we dislike the kind of badge engineering that brought us the Cavalier-based Cadillac Cimarron in the '80s, the company has done an admirable job of distinguishing vehicles on shared platforms lately. A Delta-platform Cadillac would at least have a good basis – the new Cruze is surprisingly comfy. That said, we question GM's rationale if this rumor is indeed true. Put simply, Cadillac needs another sedan like I need another student loan payment. The company has four sedans, three of which overlap two segments, and none of which are selling very well. That's not because they're bad, but because customers want crossovers, of which Caddy has but one – the new XT5. Spending the time and money to add a fifth sedan to the mix when the company desperately needs to flesh out its CUV range would be a tremendous mistake. As much as we hate to say it, if Cadillac really wants to add a small, entry-level car to its range, it'd better be a crossover. Related Video:

While most of the world is still coming down from all the hype surrounding the debut of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this month, we're already looking to the future. And according to Autoweek, the next chapter in the C7 story will unfold at the Geneva Motor Show in March. That's right, General Motors is reportedly using the Swiss stage as its venue to debut the Corvette Stingray convertible.
If this strikes you as odd, you aren't alone. After all, with a car that's such an American icon, we'd fully expect Chevrolet to unveil it here on our shores in either Chicago or New York. But according to Autoweek, GM is looking to boost export sales of its halo car, and since the C7 was engineered to compete with the world's best and brightest, showing it off in Geneva is somewhat of a smart move. What's more, those with sharp memories will recall that GM used the Geneva expo to debut the sixth-generation C6 Corvette convertible back in March 2004, so there's also a precedent.
Details surrounding the Corvette Stingray convertible are still slim, though we fully expect the 6.2-liter V8 and choice of either six-speed automatic or seven-speed manual transmissions to carry over unchanged. Prototypes spotted on the road showed the car fitted with a cloth convertible roof, as well.
