1967 Chevrolet Biscayne

This 67 Biscayne is a  beautiful car that drives like a dream.

Documentation

It is a 2nd owner car with a lot of paper work. Paper work

including but not limited to the Title, the original 1967 DMV registration,

1967 custom feature booklet, Chassis Broadcast copy, Sun / Air

and wheels booklet, Owner Protection plan and warranty book,

The original sale contract, lots of service invoice including fluids,

tire rotations, EGR, as well as smog device.

    Engine and Drive train

This 67 Biscayne is 100% Matching Numbers car.

Although it is no muscle car it has no problem going down the road

with its stock 275 horse power  327 cubic inch v8 engine and the always

popular automatic powerglide transmission. What this car lacks in power it makes

up for it in the ride. With its long body and wide stance this thing rides beautifully.

Odometer

The odometer reads 11,515 miles. I was told that at one time the speedometer

cable had broke and was drove like that for about a year before it got replaced.

However, there is no documentation of that anywhere. I personally don't think that

there is any way this car has over 100,000 miles. Everything is tight with no

slack or play in the steering or the front end. In my opinion there may be 35,000

miles on the car at the most.

Body and trim

This Biscayne has not been restored and is not being listed as perfect. I have had it painted a little over a year ago. It is currently a glacier white pearl. I did provide a picture to try to capture the green pearl to give you an idea of the color. The only rust that  I know about is located in the left rear quarter panel. If you look at the pictures I tried to show it the best I could. I believe that it was caused from the back windshield leaking, which I got cut out and reinstalled by a local shop owner and in return I let put his shop logo on the glass for advertisement. (Just to explain the sticker) All the body gaps look really good. I also included pictures of the underside to show the quality of the floor pans, trunk pans, and frame. Take notice to how good of shape the inner quarter panels and the whole under side of the car looks. It amazes everyone that looks at it. This would be an awesome start to a restore.  The only parts that I have put on this car is a new chrome strip across the hood, new GM back up light covers, wheels and tires(I still got the factory set with the hub caps also in the pictures),and a am/fm radio and cassette player(and you guessed it I still got the factory radio as well).

Keys

I have two sets of keys to this car both have one key that fits the ignition and door locks. The other key fits the glove compartment and trunk. It has only one key that fits the gas cap. All locks are in good working condition.

Payment and Shipping

Their will be $500.00 deposit that will need to be made with in 48hrs. of agreement. The remainder of the payment will need to be made in cash before the car will leave my possession. I will not ship or deliver. If a deposit is made it will not be refunded for any reason.

History Lesson

At its introduction in 1958, the Biscayne was available as a 2- or 4-door popst sedan. A Biscayne station wagon was available from 1962 to 1968.  The 2-door sedan was dropped after 1969, and consequently from 1970 to 1972 the only Biscayne model available was the 4 door.

Biscaynes were produced primarily for the fleet market, though they were also available to the general public, mainly  to those who wanted low-cost transportation with the convenience, room and power of a full-size automobile. While most Biscaynes were sold with a six-cylinder engine through the late 1960s, the V8 engine became the more popular engine by the early 1970s.1. Power steering and power brakes were made standard in 1970, while the TurboHydramatic transmission was standard on all cars ordered with a V8 engine starting midway through the 1971 model year.

Like the slightly upscale Bel Air, Biscaynes were easily identified by the use of two taillights per side. The only difference in the was in 1959 and 1972. The more expensive Impala  had three taillights per side. The Biscayne was largely devoid of exterior chrome trim and was normally fitted with small hubcaps, though several exterior trim pieces and upgraded wheel covers were available at extra cost. Interior trim was lower grade cloth and vinyl or all-vinyl upholstery trim, a standard steering wheel with center horn button, and rubber floor mats. Slight upgrades were made throughout the life of the series. For instance the 1964 models came standard with deluxe steering wheel with horn ring, deep-twist carpeting and foam-cushioned front seats.

Many of the luxury options  were made available on the more expensive full size Chevrolet models, like power windows , were not available on the Biscayne. However, customers could purchase a Biscayne with any of Chevrolet's big-block V8 engines and performance transmissions, like the floor-mounted 4-speed manual transmission with Hurst shifter and low ratio final drive. Original production numbers of cars built this way were very low, and examples of these high-performance cars are highly sought after by collectors today. Notably, Baldwin Chevrolet of Long Island, New York, became famous for offering the "Street Racer Special," a 1968 Biscayne coupe with dealer-fitted high-performance 427 cubic-inch V8, and heavy duty suspension components, turning the Biscayne into a serious drag car. Biscaynes with high-performance equipment were often nicknamed "Bisquick" by enthusiasts.

The 1965-1970 GM B platform is the fourth best selling automobile platform in history after the Volkswagen Beetle, Ford Model T and the Lada Riva.

Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat vs. Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in latest Head 2 Head

Fri, Jan 30 2015

"Olympian" is one of the terms we use to signify the greatest height, the seat of the gods. Yet Mt. Olympus is the second-highest peak in the Balkans ranges, overshadowed by the crest at Musala in Bulgaria's Rila mountains. Both great heights, but one is a little higher. That's how we get the Olympian Chevy Camaro ZL1 pitched at the Musalic Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat in Motor Trend's latest episode of Head 2 Head. The side-by-side spec sheet is filled with farcical numbers. For the ZL1, that's a 6.2-liter V8 with 580 horsepower, 556 pound-feet of torque, a 4,051-pound curb weight, 0-to-60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds, a quarter-mile time of 12.2 seconds and a base price of just $57,800. Opposing that, the Hellcat wrings out its 6.2-liter V8 for 707 hp, 650 lb-ft of torque, weighs 4,449 pounds, does the quarter in 11.7 seconds and has a base price of just $60,990. Except in the case of the Hellcat, when Motor Trend put it on the dyno the machine spit out a reading of 672 hp and 606 lb-ft at the wheels. If there's a 10-percent driveline loss through those beefed-up internals and heavy-duty eight-speed transmission, that means the Hellcat is actually rated at about 750 horsepower and 700 lb-ft. But once they get put on a closed-off strip of coast road in Northern California, there are only a few strands of hair between their respective performances. That's not the case for they sensations provide; host Jonny Lieberman calls one of them, "One of the most incredible cars ever made," and says, "It changes everything." Watch the video above to see who got the verdict and how. Related Video:

Autotrader picks best cars for 2015's college grads

Sun, May 31 2015

Summer is here and the school season is winding to a close. That means millions of students will be graduating college and (hopefully) entering the workforce. For many, that will mean buying a new car suited to the new stage in life into which they will now be embarking. That can be a bewildering choice, especially for someone who's never bought a car before. Fortunately, Autotrader has come up with a short list of recommended cars – new and used – which it recommends to the graduating class of 2015. Among the site's top choices are some compelling crossovers and hatchbacks, including the Buick Encore, Chevy Trax, and Jeep Renegade, as well as the Honda Fit, Nissan Versa Note, Mazda3 and Fiat 500. Can't stretch to buying new, or don't see the point? Autotrader has also identified the Toyota Camry, Ford Fusion and even the Lexus IS as smart buys in the certified pre-owned category. "Any time someone goes through a major life change, such as graduating college, they need to determine if their current ride makes sense for their lifestyle, from both a financial and functional perspective," says Autotrader editor Brian Moody. "For example, while that hand-me-down SUV from your parents was nice when you turned 16, you may want to opt for a safer, more fuel-efficient car as you transition into the working world." Autotrader Names 10 Best Cars for Recent College Graduates ATLANTA, May 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- For many, graduating college is a milestone like no other – it represents a new chapter, a proud accomplishment and, fortunately or unfortunately, financial independence. Luckily for graduates who are in the market for a new car to suit their post-college lifestyle, Autotrader's expert editors say now is a great time to make a purchase, as dealerships are flush with affordable models that are fun, fuel-efficient and thoughtfully designed. C7 Corvette turbo with 1,000 horsepower promised from Hennessey

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

If you can't wait for the next-generation Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Hennessey says they will have you covered. The Texas-based company has announced it will offer a spate of upgrades for the 2014 Corvette ranging from a range of bolt-on options all the way up to a 1,000-horsepower, twin-turbo system. Buyers can start with a cold air intake, cat-back exhaust or stainless steel long-tube headers, but Hennessey says it will also offer up three stages of forced induction mayhem should those bits and baubles not provide enough thrust.
Those choices start with a supercharger system good for up to 700 hp, though Hennessey will gladly ditch the blower in favor of two turbos. Doing so will spin the crank to the tune of 800 horsepower all the way up to a certifiably ludicrous 1,000 ponies. There's no word on how much these tricks will cost you - or when they will be available, as we're guessing they haven't gotten their hands on the car yet - but you can head over to the Hennessey site to drop them a line if you're curious.
