Selling a 1964 Original 3 Speed Manual Chevy Bel Air from Virginia...have original 1st Lady bought and 2nd Title BEFORE coming to Michigan some 10 years ago. Everything works from cigarette lighter, odometer, cold light, radio trunk light to exterior lights...even has original windshield fluid storage bottle. It runs, shifts and drives fine. Brakes are better than my new Ford. Its had lots of mechanical work performed according to the logs. The interior is acceptable for age with ORIGINAL seats, dash, headliner and carpet. 3 on the tree.. The BAD..Body has 1 repaint but rust coming through in many spots...panels appear original with good straight body lines, door close and alignments. Chrome needs attention, trunk showing rust but nothing through yet. Glass is fine with only chip in front window...rear window leaked and back shelf destroyed ...chrome moldings in trunk waiting to be put back on. Odometer reads 95,000 Miles which I believe correct from Virginia inspection Logs. Like it to be to be a candidate for Classic Restoration but maybe just a good donor car....4 door 6 cylinder NOT the most sought after....consider trades up or down...motorcycles, 4 wheeler, snow machines, boat, collectibles??...it needs to move out of my barn soon. Refreshed 2014 Camaro confirmed for New York debut
Thu, 07 Mar 2013We've already seen leaked specs and potential spy shots, but the refreshed 2014 Chevrolet Camaro will make its official debut at the New York Auto Show in a few weeks.
Besides a tweaked exterior and the possibility of a high-output LS7 under the hood, we really don't know much else about the 2014 Camaro, but here's hoping for an improved interior, too.
In addition to the refreshed Camaro, Chevrolet will also be showing off the recently introduced Chevrolet SS, making its debut on the auto show circuit, and we'll also get our first look at the C7 Corvette coupe and convertible side-by-side.
GM, UAW poaching Nissan workers in Tennessee
Tue, Sep 8 2015General Motors and the United Auto Workers are going on a recruitment drive at the Spring Hill factory in Tennessee, and they're hoping to poach some skilled workers from Nissan's nearby plant in Smyrna, TN. The General and the union even bought a billboard advertising for industrial electricians near the Japanese automaker's facility, according to the Daily News Journal. The reason for the billboard was simple. "GM was short of electricians," said Tim Stannard, the president of the UAW local at Spring Hill, to the Daily News Journal. The factory currently builds the Chevrolet Equinox but has a contract to assemble the next generation of Ecotec engines and the Cadillac XT5, which replaces the SRX. Thanks to the $185-million deal, employment there is expected to double by May 2016, according to Stannard, with roughly 1,800 additional union jobs. Beyond just several billboards, GM has job postings online for the Spring Hill plant looking for workers with specific skills. There has already been some interest in the positions among Nissan employees, Stannard indicated. According to a recent study by the Center for Automotive Research, the average GM worker currently makes $58 an hour, including benefits. Comparatively, Nissan pays an average of $42 an hour with benefits. The General's number could change in the coming weeks because its contract with the UAW is about to expire, and higher wages are among the major negotiating points.
Next-gen GMC Sierra spied with diesel power
Tue, Sep 5 2017The next generation of GM trucks is arriving soon, and we're expecting a huge leap forward over the current lineup. The Chevy Silverado and the GMC SIerra sell extremely well, but haven't done much to move the segment forward in a long time. The Ford F-150 has an all-aluminum body and turbocharged V6 power. The Ram 1500 gained a diesel and coil spring suspension. These spy shots show that diesel may be in the cards for GM. Some quick shots and copious use of flash show what is most likely a tank for diesel exhaust fluid and a diesel particulate filter, both necessary equipment for any modern diesel. It's unclear what form factor that engine will come in, though GM has a number of engines to choose from, including the 2.8-liter inline four that's found in the Colorado and Canyon, though that may be a little light duty for the Silverado and Sierra. Other rumors surrounding the trucks suggest a move to an aluminum cab while retaining a steel bed. That seems like a reasonable move for GM, even if the company was attempting to shame Ford for its move to aluminum a few years ago. Look for more news as early as the Detroit Auto Show in January.
