This 1963 4-Door Bel-Air has been a great vehicle, I bought it 9 years ago, and I would still trust it with my life.
Mechanical: It has the original Chevy 230 Inline Six engine, rebuilt about 7,000 miles ago, runs strong and fires up every time. The Powerglide transmission was rebuilt at the same time and shifts smoothly. Exterior: Body very solid over all. It has some normal rust on rocker/quarter panels near wheel wells. Missing chrome strip on passenger side. It will need to be painted, but it still has a strong presence. Interior: Seats would come with brand new matching OER seat upholstery replacements (pictured) for front and back, ready to be installed. Carpet needs to be replaced. Headliner is in great shape, one tear on rear wing, no staining. Underneath: Frame is solid. One minor rust hole in floor pan under driver seat. In Summary: Truly, this is a very worthy vehicle for restoration, or even a daily driver. It has class, and presence. Let me know if you have any questions. |

Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept blends the past and the future
Wed, 19 Nov 2014The Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo is the rare concept car that salutes a seminal moment in history, yet also borders on science fiction.
Revealed Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the concept uses the name of one of Chevy's historic racing partnerships, with Chaparral Racing, which dates to the 1960s. Chaparrals raced successfully at a range of levels, including IndyCar, Trans-Am and SCCA competition.
But the history ends there, as the concept's main purpose is as a racecar in a downloadable update for the PlayStation 3 game Gran Turismo 6.
Expect greater differentiation in GM's next-generation SUVs
Thu, 03 Jan 2013General Motors says its next-generation Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade models will offer shoppers improved interior differentiation. Car and Driver recently caught up with Chris Hilts, GM's creative manager of interior design, who said that the cabins will all feature unique instrument panels, consoles, center stacks and switchgear moving forward. Apparently GM is now aware that consumers may be bothered by the fact that today's $85,000 Escalade has effectively the same cabin as a $45,000 Tahoe. Hilts says SUV buyers want more refinement than their pickup purchasing counterparts - and those same buyers also want their SUVs to have more exterior differentiation between the company's Silverado and Sierra pickup lines. Shocking.
That all sounds good to us, but we've heard this song and dance before. GM made big waves about how different the new-for-2013 Silverado and Sierra would look from each other, but judging by what we've seen so far, GM's stylists are painting in shades rather than with the full spectrum. MotorWeek looks back at 1995 Chevy Tahoe, GMC Yukon

For its latest clip, the show shifts gears to remember the 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon. Similar to the success of crossovers today, SUVs were tallying big sales and making big money for automakers in the mid-'90s. The Tahoe and Yukon filled slots in the market as steps down from the larger Suburban. These twins weren't wanting for space, though, with plenty of room to haul around a family. MotorWeek came away generally impressed too, and called the models some "of the better riding sport utilities we've ever experienced." This review comes with some jazzy, electric guitar licks to enjoy in the background.
