1961 chevy belair 2dr post body with very littie rust,it will need a few small patch panels on the out side and will need small patch panels in the front floor boards and a small patch panel in the trunk, small dents in doors nothing major, the front and rear valances are solid and rust free they just need to be shaped up in a few places, the rockers and doors are solid and shut easy and are tight. An experience body man told me this car was 90% rust free and he could make this body straight and a 100% rust free with very little work. There is no engine or trans. It came from the factory with V8 and a auto trans,it's set up for a 4 speed in the floor now,it still has the auto break pedal hooked up,I was told by the previous owner that it had the factory big block 348 eng.and a pg trans in it and had the 348 emblems on the trunk and grill,He said he pulled the eng.and trans out and took the 348 emblems off in the early 90s to restore a hard top, that was before you good buy reproduction parts, the Vin.# shows it was a V8 auto trans,It still has the big block springs in it.It was stored in a barn from 1978 till 2012 and still has the 1978 NC inspection sticker.I have a extra pass.side front fender and a extra grill. All the glass is good and is factory tented, the drivers side window is off the track,it has the front and back seat,no door panels, the dash cluster is out and laying in the front seat,it will need a glove box cover, all the stainless is intact and good shape except for a couple small dings the size of a dime or smaller that will need worked out,the stainless where the front tag goes will need worked out,the belair emblems are in good shape, the trunk and grill emblem will need replaced they came off the hard top,it has a rare one piece rear bumper with bumper guards, both bumpers are in good shape for a driver, there is no steering box or hood hinges,it has 2 steering columns one has the orig.steering wheel in good shape with a good horn button,it has the tail lights and head lights and the bezels inside the car.Car is registered in NC.The original Title has been misplaced and so the NC DMV has issued a Dupilicate MVR-4 NC Title to replace the original Title,it is identical to the original Title. The VIN# on the car match the VIN# on the Title. And is clear and ready to be signed over to the buyer.A NC Notary will be available when the buyer pays for the car.Buyer must have proof of ID and address before it can be signed and notarized into the buyers name. And then the buyer can take the Title to there local DMV to register the car and the Title in there name. This year and body style is getting harder and harder to find, plus the fact that this car was stored inside a barn out of the weather for 34 years and what little rust it has was ecumalated between 1961 till 1978 the year it was placed in a barn, and has spent its entire life in the southern nc climate, plus it is a big block 348 car.You can tell it has the big block springs on it by how high it sets in the front. Most of these cars came out with a 6 cly eng,and a manual 3 speed trans on the column. This car was considered a sleeper back in the day,You see alot of the 2 dr hardtops, but you dont see many of these 2 dr coupes with the small back side widows.I have listed all the information I know about this car.Car can stay on my property till the 3rd weekend in March if needed but full payment is due in cash or a certified check within 7 days of the sale ending. This car is forsale local and I have the right to end sale early.

Junkyard Gem: 1986 Chevrolet Sprint Plus

Fri, Jun 16 2023

General Motors sold second- and third-generation Suzuki Cultuses with Geo or Chevrolet Metro badging in the United States from 1989 through 2001 model years, and we've all seen plenty of those cars on the street over the years. The first-generation Cultus was sold here as well, with Chevrolet Sprint badges, and I've found a rare example of the Sprint five-door hatchback in a Northern California car graveyard. The Chevy Sprint first appeared on the West Coast as a 1985 model, then became available everywhere in the United States for the 1986 through 1988 model years (in Canada, it was sold as the Pontiac Firefly). It was available here as a hatchback with three or five doors; for 1986 only, the five-door was badged as the Sprint Plus. Soon enough, The General would be selling many more Asian-built cars with Detroit badges here. Isuzu I-Marks were sold as Chevrolet/Geo Spectrums starting in the 1986 model year, while Daewoo provided the Pontiac LeMans two years later. Under the hood, a 1.0-liter three-cylinder rated at 48 horsepower. The five-door Sprint cost $5,580 in 1986, which was $200 more than the three-door (those prices would be $15,445 and $14,891 in 2023 dollars). I've documented seven discarded Sprints prior to this one (including an extremely rare Turbo Sprint), and all of them were three-doors; we can assume that price was the most important factor for Sprint buyers. Gasoline prices were crashing hard during the middle 1980s, but memories of gas lines and odd-even-day fuel rationing from 1979 remained strong. What cars competed with the '86 Sprint on sticker price? Well, there was no way to undercut the hilariously affordable (and terrible) Yugo GV, which cost $3,990. The much bigger (but still pretty bad) Hyundai Excel listed at $4,995, while Toyota would sell you a sturdy (but zero-fun) Tercel starting at $5,448. Even the wretched Chevy Chevette — yes, it was still available in 1986 — cost $5,645. The original buyer of this car was willing to shell out an extra $395 to get an automatic instead of the base five-speed manual. That's about $1,093 in today's money. This car must have been slow. By the end, the doors were held shut with duct tape, but it still stayed alive until age 37. 53 miles per gallon on the highway! It does everything. The camels of the highway.

2016 Chevy Volt sneak peek at CES

Mon, Jan 5 2015

Here it is, folks – your first real glimpse at the 2016 Chevrolet Volt. The gasoline-electric sedan will officially debut at the Detroit Auto Show next week, but Chevy gave us a sneak peek of its redesigned Volt at a media event in Las Vegas late Sunday, as part of its CES festivities. There isn't a ton to see here, and sorry about the low quality video (and for us not standing front and center during the reveal). But we can clearly see the car's redesigned front fascia – something recently previewed at a fan event in Los Angeles. For another view, check out a high-res photo of the new Volt from our friends at The Verge, here. Chevy even tweeted a photo of the Volt's new nose on its official Volt Twitter account, which you can see below. The automaker didn't divulge any details about its new Volt, but we already know quite a bit. For starters, the Volt will use a new, 1.5-liter gasoline engine and won't require premium fuel. It'll have more EV range and a bigger battery, too. We'll have a whole mess of information when the 2016 Volt is fully revealed in Detroit in about one week's time. In the meantime, here are some more looks at the Volt, courtesy of the Twitterverse. We're so excited about #NextGenVolt we brought it out early at #CES2015! GMC Envoy could be returning as GM files for 'Envoy' trademark

Thu, Dec 27 2018

The GMC Envoy could be on its way back, if a recent GM trademark filing is any indication of the future. To be exact, GM's trademark filing is for the name "Envoy," and is applicable to "motor vehicles, namely, sport utility vehicles, engines therefor and structural parts thereof." A victim of the recession and high gas prices, the original Envoy – related to the Blazer, and more recently the TrailBlazer and similar GM SUVs – was discontinued after the 2009 model year. In today's SUV-happy market of low gas prices, unearthing the somewhat familiar Envoy name makes a certain amount of sense. As soon as gas prices start trending in the other direction, we'll all be saying the opposite, though. What this SUV will take shape as is the big question now. With the Chevrolet Blazer well and truly on its way, there's every reason for a GMC version of Chevy's stylish new crossover sporting the Envoy name. Another, less likely, possibility is a Traverse-sized vehicle to slot between the shorter Acadia (10 inches shorter than the Chevy Traverse) and the body-on-frame Yukon. GM could come out of left field and make the Envoy a Buick too. It fits the bill with the "En" beginning, and Buick undoubtedly has crossovers in the works. We think that's even more unlikely, but it's important to remember that we're still in the speculation phase. Soon we'll drive Chevy's new Blazer, and perhaps have more news then. Check in next week for that. Related video:
