For sale is a very nice unmodified original 1958 Chevrolet Biscayne 2 door sedan. I'm very hesitant to sell this car but I want to put air ride and Fenton speed parts on it and everybody says leave it alone. Here's your chance before I violate it's originality. I had my eye on this car for a couple years and last year I went after it and bought it. The interior seat covers were original and the front had worn through and the front seat foam was starting to break down. I pulled the seats and had brand new stock seat covers put on from CARS INC., I also had the seat foam and burlap replaced front and back. I wanted it to be as comfortable as new again. While apart, new factory style carpet was installed, I replaced the original kick panels with new and a new rear package tray was also put in. Door panels are original and still look pretty nice. The dash is all original and very nice and has it's radio delete plate, the owners manual is still in the glove compt. All gauges look nice and all function, the odometer still works but the speedometer does not, so it's something in the head. Mileage is listed as original on the title from the DMV in Indiana and from the overall wear I'd say it is. Every other thing on the car works, steering wheel, pedals and all trim looks very clean, car definitely appears to have been very well cared for and preserved since new, and must have been kept out of the elements. All wiring is original and never been cut or cobbled. All weatherstripping appears original and still soft, door jambs still have original paint as does the trunk and is still very clean. Original horn sounds like a freight train coming and you can scare the bjesus out of someone. Master cylinder was just rebuilt and all brakes were gone through, bearings packed and all new brake hoses within last hand full of years. Clutch works perfectly and trans shifts like new, car drives like it did back in 1958. The 235 Six cylinder runs very nice and has automatic choke and fires right to life up on fast idle when cold. All sheet metal appears original, inner and outer rockers and trunk pan are very solid, floors have had a couple small patches welded in at some point and didn't appear to need any more than that. All exterior sheet metal is very nice, slight amount of work done above the headlights was done back when car was repainted but must have been very minor pitting, no evidence of work when looking from inside the fenders at the back of the headlights. That was probably 15-20 years ago and there is very small bubbling in that area only. Paint presents itself nicely for a couple decades old with no fading but does has some minor touch up here and there. It's no longer show paint but is very nice driver quality. Still has one original T3 headlight. Under hood is very clean, firewall has original paint, underside of hood was sanded and repainted back when and still looks new. Trunk is all original and clean, minimal surface rust under original trunk mat, underside of deck lid clean and still has spare tire instructions on it, jack and all hardware is there with newer radial spare. Original wheels with radial tires make the car drive great and I wouldn't be afraid to drive this car anywhere. Front bumper section is faded but the rest is nice and the car is overall very clean, and has always been well maintained. It also comes with matching fender skirts but that's not my style. The Airstream in the photo's is not for sale and is not hooked up to the car, I just wanted it in the picture. I really, really hate to give this car up, I was born in 58 and I'm a Chevy guy. I'll probably never be able to afford one in my price range again, I just have too many toys, I'm getting older and need to simplify my life a little. Indiana title is clear. You are welcome to come look at the car before auction ends. Please do not bid if you have less than 10 transactions and 100% positive feedback or I will cancel your bid. Sorry, just been burned a few times over the years and it's cost me plenty. I've tried to describe everything as accurately as possible, I will update if I've forgotten anything. Please ask questions if you feel the need. There are no guarantees on this 55 year old car. Auction can end at any time, I prefer cash. Good luck and thanks for looking!

2016 Chevy Volt will not need premium gas
Wed, Oct 29 2014Buried in the new technical details of the 2016 Chevy Volt released yesterday was a throwaway line about a small but important change that's due to the new 1.5-liter, four-cylinder engine. The first-gen Volt has always required premium gas but the new powerplant will be happy burning plain old regular. The Volt's chief engineer, Andrew Farah, told AutoblogGreen that the change was due to today's Volt owners explaining they were not happy paying for top-shelf petroleum. "The ability to use regular unleaded was based directly on customer feedback," he said. "Since the range extender is an all-new engine, it was optimized to use regular unleaded at the outset. Using regular fuel will not have effect on vehicle acceleration or other performance factors." As Larry Nitz, GM's executive director of vehicle electrification, told AutoblogGreen yesterday, the new engine is more powerful and quieter than the outgoing 1.4-liter engine that's used in the current Volt. Fuel economy and EV range specs for the next-gen Volt are not expected until the full car is revealed at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
Chevy shows much-improved 2014 Corvette interior in new video
Mon, 11 Feb 2013If you want a closer look at what went into designing and building the interior for the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette, we've got just the thing. General Motors has released a new video detailing the cabin's evolution from conception to execution, complete with commentary from Ryan Vaughn, performance car interior design manager with Chevrolet. The quick clip details how manufacturing, engineering and design within General Motors worked together from the first sketches to ensure no compromises had to be made later down the line. How novel.
With plenty of hides traced with contrast stitching and available real carbon fiber trim, the cabin looks to be a few hundred miles ahead of the C6. Given how readily critics derided the previous generation for its cabin, the C7 should make writers work a little harder to find something to complain about. Check out the video below for yourself.
Next-gen GM SUVs caught wearing new boxy bodies [w/video]
Wed, 15 May 2013We recently drove the brand-new 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and found it to be vastly improved compared to the outgoing model. And now that The General's pickup trucks have been squared away, it's time to focus our attention onto their passenger-friendly companions, the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon (above).
Our spy photographers have passed along a huge smattering of photos (and a video), showing the new SUVs out testing. Both the short- and long-wheelbase models were spied, and while the overall shape of the vehicles hasn't changed all that much, we expect the updates to be substantial. In addition to new powertrain options, like GM's new small-block V8, we expect the interiors of both SUVs to get massive makeovers, providing better materials throughout their cabins and quieter, more refined environments. We even hear that some trick new suspension developments may be in store for upper-end models.
Visually, these spy shots allow us to see a couple of new details on the SUVs' front and rear fascias, including LED running lamps on the Yukon and some interesting LED taillamp treatments. Of course, the obvious third party missing from this set of photos is the Cadillac Escalade, but as we reported earlier, GM is working to further differentiate the 'Slade from the rest of the fullsize SUV lineup, and is working to make the new model "much less ostentatious."
