Up for auction is my 1957 Chevy wagon full custom.

Drivetrain is a 1957 chevy 235 inch 6 cylinder that has electronic ignition, split fenton exhaust and fenton dual carb intake. It runs great-really doesn't leak and does not smoke.
Transmission is a T5 5speed. It shifts smooth through all the gears. it has a Hurst floor shift.
stock rear end in car.
The brakes have been converted to power assist front disc and the car still has drum brakes on the rear. Pads and shoes have around 500 miles.
The car does not have power steering.
The car runs great on the freeway. The 5 speed lets it cruise comfortably at 70-75 at around 2000 RPM.
All the suspension bushings have been replaced approximately 3 years ago.
The car was rewired completely by the owner before me.

Here are the body mods.

2.5 " chopped top.
1956 Oldsmobile headlights and front fender section added.
1957 Buick grille.
Cadillac hood skin that has been peaked.
California one piece 1957 Chevy bumper.
door handles shaved and side trim removed.
Stainless trim around beltline and windows has been recently polished.
The bottom of the car is painted a Lexus ice blue from a RX series SUV
The top is gloss black.
All the paint work was completed 2 years ago. The car is kept under a cover in my garage always.

The wheels on the car are 15 " Cragar Star Wires. They are in excellent shape.
The tires on the car are also new. Less than 250 miles. The whitewalls make the tires look old. I can't get them to stay clean.

The interior
Dashboard is painted gloss black
1959 Impala steering wheel.
there is a 3 gauge pak under the dash for temp, oil pressure and amps. those work. The factory speedometer, fuel gauge, and temp gauges are not connected.
The headlights, tail lights and rear blinkers work. the car does not have front blinkers.
I installed door panels 1 month ago. they have been properly lined with plastic. All interior door and window handles are in the car and work.
the front and rear bench seats are upholstered grey with a flake insert in both. The car does not have a headliner.
All the garnish moldings for the doors and windows were rechromed when I had the car painted.
I replaced all the window rubber seals and door seals as well as the rubber door stops, etc.

There is no rust in this car. The owner before me installed patch panels as necessary, and I stripped the car before painting to check myself.

I had all new safety glass cut for the front, rear, and rear quarter windows. Those cost approx. $2500 to have cut. I unfortunately cracked the rear window. The door windows have original glass in excellent condition.

I have a clear CA title in my name. I am selling the car as is with no warranty expressed or implied. I also reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Car is for sale locally as well.

Will sell worldwide. Shipping is up to you, but I will assist in any way possible.

If you have any questions, please ask them.

The story of the 2014 Chevrolet SS: "Luxury, power, refinement, handling"

Thu, 07 Mar 2013

Not including the women and men who built it, the 2014 Chevrolet SS has only been seen in person by a piddling number of people - fewer humans than would fill the gymnasium at a high school volleyball game. Not including the men and women who built it, no one has driven it. Even so, it is already saddled with two controversies: the way it looks and the way it shifts.
First to that shifting. Did we love the last Americanized Holden, the awesomely sportsome Pontiac G8 GXP, and its six-speed manual? Of course. Do we wish the SS came with a six-speed manual? Of course. But we'd like a toboggan to come with a manual transmission. We'd put a manual transmission on a weasel if we could because we're just wired that way; if it moves, it should come with a stick and a clutch. Or at least the option.
Let's climb down off the ledge, though. We haven't driven the SS and we have no idea how good (or not) the automatic is. And the Hobson's Choice in transmissions when it comes to sport sedans like the BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and Jaguar XFR-S and, oh yeah, cars-that-really-should-have-manuals like the Audi R8 and Nissan GT-R and Porsche 918 and every single Lamborghini and Ferrari, for instance, hasn't stopped us from enjoying what is clearly the gruesome, dual-clutched demise of Western automotive civilization. Because in spite of our ululations at the dying of the six-speed light, we understand.

Recharge Wrap-up: Chevy Volt CarPlay video, Tesla Supercharger importance

Fri, Feb 5 2016

A video demonstrates Apple CarPlay on the touch display in the next-generation Chevrolet Volt. The Volt's eight-inch (bigger than an iPad Mini) capacitive display is capable of putting Siri and your iPhone apps and right at your fingertips. It's "the best CarPlay display I've seen," says the user in the video. In case you're not in the market for a new Volt, 9to5Mac offers some of its favorite aftermarket CarPlay screens. See the video above, and read more at 9to5Mac. A single Supercharger can make a big difference in the life of a Tesla owner. Teslarati's Electric Jen talks about purchasing a Model S, being assured by both Tesla employees and the map of planned Supercharger sites that one would be built along an important route for her. With the construction being pushed back, it made visiting family tricky. "As if owning such a grand car isn't embarrassing enough, asking for a ride to drop off and pick up said car because you can't make it home without charging really made me feel awkward," she says. "You see, one single charging location can mean the world to some people," Jen adds. Read the whole article at Teslarati. Tesla once had considered creating mobile range extender trailers for the Model S. Elon Musk touched upon the abandoned idea during his visit to Paris. While Tesla ultimately dismissed the concept, Nomadic Power has taken the opportunity to hitch their product onto the Tesla brand. "We are delighted, that Tesla Motors' CEO Elon Musk is thinking about a concept like ours for even more extending the range of the Tesla models," says Nomadic Power's CEO Manfred Baumgaertner. He adds, "This confirms our approach to build a long distance mobility provider for all electric vehicles on the market." If you say so, Baumgaertner. When the batteries have degraded to the point that they're no longer suitable for use on the road, they still have a significant capacity that can be used for other purposes. Still useful for stationary storage, they can be used to support charging sites in order to allow for faster charging. The stationary batteries can charge slowly at the site, but then offer up the juice in a hurry when it's needed for a vehicle. Read more from Renault.
