1957 Chevrolet Nomad.

This is an older build that was last painted Matador Red in the early 80's. It does show wear but the paint still shines well and has only a few chips. It has no dents and no sign of rust in the body except for a very small area in the right rear roof corner (photo attached). There is also a small hole at the base of the spare tire carrier. Other than that it is a dry rust free California car. It has been in a dry garage since the early 80's.

This is a lifetime CA car. It was built in the Los Angeles plant and has not been out of state. It has the original California 1 piece front bumper and frameI bought it from a family that had built the car in the 80's. They upgraded the car with a 350/350 changed the paint and had the car reupholstered. The color is Matador Red and the car was originally Tropical Turquoise and White. The interior is dated but totally usable as is and has the original seats.

It was also upgraded with power front disc brakes and power steering.

I have recently added an Edelbrock carburetor, starter, radiator, water pump, hoses, American Racing wheels, Radial T/A tires and battery. It also had a full tune up. It does have an intermittent vibration while driving that I believe is in the drive shaft.

The glass is all good and I believe original to the car. The left sliding window has a crack but I have an original replacement piece for it that is included in the sale. I also have a new Danchuk Radio antenna.

The dash is nice and has not been cut. There is a custom factory fit stereo that is new but needs speakers. The steering wheel is an original 1959 Impala unit that was painted to match the car.

If you are looking for a Tri-5 Chevy Nomad that will not break the bank this may be the car for you. It is fairly priced and with a little TLC and work it could easily be taken to the next level and be a good investment.

It is currently registered in my name and has YOM CA plates.

Chevrolet SS previewed by Holden VF Commodore SS V show car

Thu, 14 Feb 2013

It won't be long before we see the official, production-ready Chevrolet SS sedan (hint: it will be revealed this weekend). And to tide us over until all of the official details are released about the US-spec version, we have this: the Holden VF Commodore SS V show car, a performance-oriented brother to the Calais V that debuted earlier in the week.
What we really want to know about the SS V is what lies underhood, but General Motors' Australian arm is keeping that under wraps until the Chevy model breaks cover this weekend. Nevertheless, it's obvious that the SS V will be a serious performer, with all sorts of aggressive cues driving that home on the car's exterior. Take a look at those 20-inch billet aluminum wheels that hide big Brembo brake calipers up front, the sculpted hood and front fascia, the wide air intakes with LED running lights and the quad exhaust pipes out back. It's like the Pontiac G8 GXP never even left us.
Inside, there's a sporty-looking interior with aluminum accents that mix in with black leather and suede surfaces, all tied together in the middle with an eight-inch MyLink touchscreen infotainment system. It looks great, and again, while we don't know anything regarding powertrain details, it makes us oh-so happy to see a manual shifter smack dab in the middle of the center console.
