Pittsfield, Massachusetts, United States

First let me start off by saying I am really going to be sad to see this one go...Bought this car for myself but i just do not have the time it needs with everything that is going on in my life , plus 2 other project cars that are not finished..........

1957 Chevy bel air , 2 door sedan , 283 v8 w/ muncie m21 4 speed transmission , this is a great starting point for someone...2 owner car ..

First 5 of Vin# VC57T

Motor is the original 283 that the car was born with , it has been rebuilt recently and has zero miles on it.... New unleaded heads ( have originals also ) , heads received a valve job , all new valves , springs , rockers , ARP studs and Head bolts , New crank bearings , new cam bearings , New oil pump , new oil pan (have original also ) new timing chain , new chrome timing chain cover ,  2 barrel intake (have orig also ) , Mt valve covers , couple chrome trinkets brackets etc..I have the original generator , plus a new alternator depending on which direction you want to go..I have the fuel pump and a brand new electric fuel pump that is installed , orig has block off plate...All new hardware on this motor....Original exhaust manifolds , with new hardware new gaskets etc...Motor has all new fel pro gaskets , plus more ....It is ready to run for years to come.....

Transmission is a mid 60's Muncie m21 that has also been rebuilt , new clutch , good bell housing , new pressure plate , new throw out bearing etc...Gear box was gone through and anything suspect was replaced to the tune of $1500 ...Nice Hurst Bench seat shifter...Z bar and all linkages already installed in the car so headaches trying to figure it out.....Drive shaft all painted and ready to go back in also..

Old Ansen sprint style mag wheels , cool old wheels , one has a ding but holds air just fine...

Body on the car is in good shape , has all the factory trim still on it and in good shape..Couple minor dings in the stainless but can be fixed and polished.Bumpers are all there and in good core condition , they could be rechromed (which i would do) or replaced if you choose to go that route.Nothing fits better or is stronger then the factory stuff...
Body has some rust bubbles down on the rocker area , one spot on the passenger door where you can see a crack in bondo but otherwise the exterior looks pretty dang good ..One minor dent in top of passenger fender..The backsides of all the fenders and quarters look really good , they have not been all sauced up or welded up etc, they fell good with your hand and look to be rust free from the back side!!Thats a big plus!I took pictures of the back sides of the fenders and stuff but its hard to make out what the pics are , you can see that there is no rot though....The rockers down low need a little attention or replaced , the back side of the rocker (inner rockers ) need some work but just normal stuff , the toe board floor mounts need fixed , and a couple of the floor braces need some work....Otherwise the rest of the floor pan looks real good , the trunk pan looks real good too , hood is nice , as well as trunk lid.....The under side of the car still has factory under coating on it so it looks crusty but mostly just that old under coating...The frame is solid as a rock , i stripped it lightly when i first got the car and under coated it to protect it, Not trying to hide anything car will speak for itself..Looks ok for what it i but i was planning on a frame off at some point anyhow...This car is by no means a hunk of scarp , it is well worth putting the effort forward with...
I stripped and hand sanded the engine bay , pulled out everything , media blasted most parts i could get off and painted it with SEM rustshield , put everything back together and installed the motor/ trans , it looks awesome!! I was going to run the car for a while with the patina while i built a game plan to restore it..

I have 2 other cars in the middle of restoration but i wanted to drive and enjoy this one for while and not have to be afraid of every little thing....The brakes work , fuel lines are ran up to the engine bay , all wires are there , emergency brake works great , has dual exhaust which is hooked up so it really wouldn't take an awful lot to get this car running again if that's what you want to do with it....

The interior is all here , it has a black bench seat in front , a blue bench in rear , all window trim is there and in good shape , headliner is intact and not ripped but older , dash is mostly complete except to just bolt the cluster back in and other misc stuff.Steering wheel is a 210 wheel , but i think the only difference is the horn emblem or the center horn ring etc not 100% sure , it is in better shape then the original though so in it went....I have all the door handles and window cranks, arm rests plus extras from another car i took parts from. All glass intact with couple cracks , windshield and rear windshield are good as well as a couple others..I have two sets of door panels , the black set that match the front seat and the blue set that match the rear , I kept them around basically to pull the trim off of them and stuff but its up to you if you want to use them or not i don't think they are worth it...I have a brand new set of blank door panels i got from Danchuck that i was going to wrap in leather with inserts but you can do what you like...Just want you to know what you are getting with the car....

I have a bunch of extra parts that go with the car , basically a whole trunks worth... Original radio , orig heads , orig pans , new glove box , a bunch of old Orig gm hardware screws etc , misc extra brackets , NOS GM lower trunk trim w/ the 2 outside pieces too , (gm accessories ) , extra hinges , extra trim , electric wiper set up plus stock one , etc............Just a bunch of good stuff to have...

So that is the basic run down on the car , if i havent scared you off yet that is good because Overall the car is well worth fixing and will be a great project for some one , it was going to be for me but unforeseen things have come up and i need to sell, it pains me for sure but its the way it goes sometimes. If your handy you will be WAY ahead of the game with this one, there is already over 5k in the drive line you will not have to spend......Perfect father & son/daughter project, these old cars are just the coolest....There is no feeling like cruising the strip in a 57 chevy bel air, family in tow , fuzzy dice swinging in the breeze , arm out the window and just forgetting about work for a few hours......

Great Christmas present for yourself....

I have CT transferable paper work for the car which all ct gives for classics (check it out if you like) , you will get a title back in your own state unless its Ct , they take your titles and keep them...

The car is a project car so it is sold as-is , No warranty claimed in any way shape or form...I try to be very honest and straight forward with the descriptions because i know its hard to judge a vehicle without seeing it in person !if you would like to see the car in person please call or text the number below..You are NOT bidding on a chance to come look it over and decide, you are bidding to own the car....If you get here and the car is wayyy off on the description (within reason) i wont hold you to it...I am human and things might slip my mind but i assure you nothing major ..I will also update the ad with anything else i can think off as the week goes..Shipping is up to the buyer and on their dime , i have a buddy who owns a flat bed and can get you a reasonable price within a couple hundred miles or so if you want me to ask him..I will also assist in any way that i can in regards to picking up / shipping etc..I will pack the car good and make sure it gets on the truck safely..I will also make myself available to the shipper at any time he needs , up to midnight i understand they have a schedule and you want to get your new baby home quick as possible... $500 non refundable deposit due with 72 hours of auctions end , either by bank wire transfer or m/o etc....I would like to be paid in full within 7 days of auctions end also...I can hold the car in a secure building until you pick it up , if it is going to be longer then 2 weeks after auction we can discuss it..

Kurt Busch to shake and bake (again) in Ricky Bobby car at Talladega

Sat, 19 Oct 2013

Kurt Busch will channel Ricky Bobby for another NASCAR race, this time driving a Wonder-sponsored Chevrolet SS, in this weekend's Camping World RV Sales 500 at the Talladega Motor Speedway. Unlike past tie-ins, though, there's actually an element of sponsorship here (the "Me" car was done when Busch was running on a team without sponsorship).
It was arranged by Flower Foods, the new owner of the Wonder brand. Wonder was part of the bankrupt Hostess company, which temporarily exited the US market 2012, and set off the Great Twinkie Shortage.
Busch has made something of a habit of channeling characters from famous racing movies, most recently running Tom Cruise's City Chevrolet livery from Days of Thunder in a Nationwide Series race earlier this year. Busch kicked off his movie-inspired antics, though, at Talladega in 2012, when he raced El Diablo's ("It's like... Spanish for like a fighting chicken") "Me" car complete with a cougar on the hood. He even went so far as to channel the lovable idiot that is Ricky Bobby during the race, dropping a few catchphrases about macchiatos and slingshots.

Take a close look at the guts of the Chevy Volt battery, powertrain

Sat, Aug 9 2014

Just how intimate would you like to get with the powertrain in a Chevy Volt? If you're anything like YouTube user d55guy, then spending a half hour filming yourself taking apart the battery pack, motor, inverter and more for a look inside sounds like your idea of fun. After all, this way you get to see the cooling system, the heavy safety kill switch and count up the individual cells in the battery modules. Fun! Turns out, we also enjoy languidly paced Volt dissection video goodness, and we think you might want to see it as well. So, we've embedded two videos below and if you don't have a better understanding of how the Volt is put together after watching them, well, at least you can't say we never tried to show you anything. Given that what's really happening here is the organized 'destruction' of an expensive and potentially dangerous object, let's talk safety. There's a serious disclaimer at the beginning of the videos and on the YouTube description page, but we feel the need to repeat the gist of it here: do not try this at home. The creator of the video says he is a trained engineer and has been doing things like this "for the better part of a decade," so he apparently knows what he's doing. With that in mind, watch it all below. When you're done seeing the insides of a Volt powertrain up close, if you need more filmed EV dissection/destruction, check out this video designed for first responders approaching a damaged Tesla Model S. Netflix to feature electric cars from GM and others in programming

Sun, Feb 5 2023

LOS ANGELES — Netflix has unveiled a new star for some of its upcoming programming: electric vehicles from General Motors and other automakers. The streaming service announced an agreement on Thursday to feature vehicles including the Chevrolet Bolt, the electric GMC Hummer pickup and the Cadillac Lyriq in TV series and films "where relevant." The companies will highlight the partnership in a commercial featuring Will Ferrell that will air during the Feb. 12 Super Bowl. Netflix and GM called the agreement "part of a commitment to a more sustainable future." Financial terms were not disclosed. Netflix said it will help creators "better understand how EVs can complement and enhance their stories." Shows that will feature GM's electric vehicles include "Love is Blind," "Queer Eye" and "Unstable." Netflix productions also will include electric vehicles made by other automakers, the company said.   Marketing/Advertising TV/Movies Chevrolet GM GMC Hummer
