1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-Door Sedan A Nice, clean example that has been "Best of Show" Winner 2017 and 2013 At Two "Casual" Level Shows
Seventeen years ago, our seller bought this very solid "turn key" show and drive '57 BelAir from it's former Alabama owner. He bought it just about as you see it and has simply enjoyed it for car shows, cruise-ins and as a fun, fair weather driver.
Overall, the paint, interior, mechanics, and undercarriage are "casual show" ready. It is a very solid, well cared for collectable for you to enjoy as soon as it arrives at your home.
Up-grades and enhancements include a 350 Cubic Inch small block Chevy that is modestly at about 300+ horsepower. The 3 speed 350 turbo trans makes for a great cruiser even at highways speeds. you can see in the pictures under the hood that it has plenty of chrome and polished alloy to make you proud to show it off. Again, it has been maintained as a dependable driver too, so a new aluminum radiator was installed recently to keep her running cool.
Other features include Chrome True Spoke Wire Wheels, front disc brakes and front and rear sway bars (really nice improvements for improving the driving characteristics of a 57 year old car!)
This is a restoration that is over 17 years old and seeing it in person will prove how well it has been cared for by the current owners. You will note the expected touched up paint chips and minor blemishes associated with a restoration that has aged well, but you will be impressed.

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes
Mon, 01 Oct 2012The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.

Chevy SS prototype spotted wearing Pontiac G8 clothes

Do not adjust your computer screen, you are not seeing the rebirth of the Pontiac brand. General Motors has chosen to use a G8 to disguise a test mule for the latest prototype of the forthcoming Chevrolet SS. The G8 was closely related to the Holden Commodore and Vauxhall VXR, the platform upon which the new Chevrolet performance model will be based. It should come as little surprise, then, that GM has opted to use the cladding from the former G8.
Thought the front clip of this mule is pure Pontiac, note the vents immediately behind the front wheel. That is a distinctive design hallmark of the Vauxhall VXR. Also note that this vehicle is right-hand drive, as the Holden and its Chevy counterpart will be very closely related. That likely includes potential drivetrains. The spy photos of this mule also reveal very wide rear tires, and rear wheels that do not match the fronts.
