1957 Chevrolet 150 Utility 4door Sedan on 2040-cars
Sayward, British Columbia, Canada
A good solid car of which I am the third owner. The car sat outside for 10 or 15 years until the owner passed away. His mailman bought it from the public trustee, did nothing with it and sold it to me. I have owned it for 5 years and have driven it about one or two miles (from one storage area to another). It drove like a dream. I have had most of the body work done (rust cut out, replaced with metal, not welded but pop riveted and smoothed with body filler). It has a cheap coat of house paint sprayed on it, so at least it is not rusting away. Fuel tank was cleaned and new fuel level indicator and screen installed. New master cylinder put on. My dreams were bigger than my wallet (I am a fixed income retiree) and I cannot afford to do more work on it. I am into it for $4,500.00, and the opening bid is far below that. REMEMBER: NO RESERVE-YOU BID YOU BUY UNLESS YOU'RE OUTBID! My loss, your gain! The engine runs (ran, it has been sitting for about three years), but the water jacket has a crack in it, and the engine needs to be pulled and the jacket stitched. It is not a Bel Air, but it is still a beautiful car. It has minimal rust, the floor pans are solid, and so is the frame. I you are interested in restoring and owning one of the Tri-Five, then this is certainly an affordable and well worthwhile project. The car is located at the North end of Vancouver Island. If you live in the state of Washington it is a ferry ride (Seattle to Victoria) and a half day's drive away. The opening bid is $1,250.00 and there is no reserve. The successful bidder will be expected to pay $750.00 through PayPal at the close of he auction, and the balance in cash or by certified cheque on pick up or within 10 days whichever comes first. Title is clear and all documentation is on hand.

Looking back at the Citation IV concept that likely shaped the GM EV1
Wed, Aug 20 2014Those who forget history are condemned to repeat it. We're not sure how that applies to the GM EV1, but we'd still like to share something from Autoline Daily, an online automotive new show with our friend John McElroy. He's been covering the business for decades now and recently found something interesting: pictures of the 1984 Chevrolet Citation IV concept, seen above. Displayed half a decade before the first electric concept that would become the EV1 (inset), McElroy says it's now clear that the elegant, aerodynamic EV1 took a lot of styling cues from the Citation IV, which was developed in part thanks to GM's new-at-the-time Aerodynamics Laboratory. We agree with him that the spats over the rear wheels, the flush glass, and the covered headlights all bear a certain kind of similarity between the two cars. That the colors almost match is a nice coincidence. The Impact (the concept version of the EV1) looked "frumpier," McElroy says, because it wasn't as long as the Citation. You can read a lot more about the Citation IV here and check out McElroy's thoughts in the video below. Find the Citation starting at around 3:45. This content is hosted by a third party. 2016 Chevy Volt sneak peek at CES
Mon, Jan 5 2015Here it is, folks – your first real glimpse at the 2016 Chevrolet Volt. The gasoline-electric sedan will officially debut at the Detroit Auto Show next week, but Chevy gave us a sneak peek of its redesigned Volt at a media event in Las Vegas late Sunday, as part of its CES festivities. There isn't a ton to see here, and sorry about the low quality video (and for us not standing front and center during the reveal). But we can clearly see the car's redesigned front fascia – something recently previewed at a fan event in Los Angeles. For another view, check out a high-res photo of the new Volt from our friends at The Verge, here. Chevy even tweeted a photo of the Volt's new nose on its official Volt Twitter account, which you can see below. The automaker didn't divulge any details about its new Volt, but we already know quite a bit. For starters, the Volt will use a new, 1.5-liter gasoline engine and won't require premium fuel. It'll have more EV range and a bigger battery, too. We'll have a whole mess of information when the 2016 Volt is fully revealed in Detroit in about one week's time. In the meantime, here are some more looks at the Volt, courtesy of the Twitterverse. We're so excited about #NextGenVolt we brought it out early at #CES2015! Pics Aplenty: Meet the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra [w/poll]
Thu, 13 Dec 2012Today was a pretty big day for General Motors, debuting the all-new Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra light-duty pickup trucks ahead of their official showcase at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. And now that the dust has settled at GM's big reveal event, we've had a chance to snap dozens of photos of the new pickup pair from every angle.
We already told you the important bits earlier today (click here in case you missed it), but let's recap. Under the hood are three new engines - a 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter V8 and 6.2-liter V8 (you know, a version of the small-block that'll also be found under the hood of the C7 Corvette), all mated to six-speed automatic transmissions. The 2014 model year marks the return of the Z71 off-road package with Rancho shocks, front tow hooks and beefier underbody protection. Inside, there's a host of new technology and a greater focus on better quality and refinement.
Some of the nitty-gritty specifics (like engine output numbers and fuel economy) have yet to be revealed, and since we haven't driven the finished products yet, it's hard to say how these trucks will fare against rivals like the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150. For now, we can only judge these two books by their covers, and while we do like the designs of the new trucks, we Autoblog staffers are torn on exactly which one looks best.
