You are looking at a beautifully restored 1957 Chevy 210 4 door. This car is a multi show winner and a head turner. This cream puff has been restored from the frame up. 47,499 miles...believed to be original miles. Still has original spiral shocks. The Blue Flame six cylinder engine and original power glide automatic transmission were pulled, gone through with new gaskets, seals, etc. and reinstalled after the firewall and motor were repainted. This is a high quality paint job including door jams, etc...it looks like a sheet of glass. It was painted the original color scheme of Canyon Corral and Ivory and has new weather stripping and matching fender skirts. The car was all disassembled and taken to bare metal for the paint job and restoration about six years ago. The frame and undercarriage have been painted and undercoated. This is a very solid car...floor pans, body mounts, etc (see pics). The doors open and close very nice. This car drives and rides like a dream.
This car has super nice chrome. New chrome at restoration time include new bumpers, grill bar, rockets, scoops, headlight bezels, front fender extensions, door mirrors, front fender louvers, emblems and chrome window visors. Other new parts at restoration time include new gas tank, exhaust, hoses, belts, electric windshield wiper motor, water pump, brake job including brake lines and master cylinder. The car has a dealer installed oil filter. The car has had a tune up with wires, cap, rotor and plugs. The radiator has been recored, the starter and generator have been rebuilt and a special order aftermarket 55-57 radio with cassette has been installed (original radio also comes with the car). Interior is all original so it does show a little wear. The carpet is newer. Car has been driven very little since restoration.

C7 Corvette turbo with 1,000 horsepower promised from Hennessey
Mon, 25 Feb 2013If you can't wait for the next-generation Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Hennessey says they will have you covered. The Texas-based company has announced it will offer a spate of upgrades for the 2014 Corvette ranging from a range of bolt-on options all the way up to a 1,000-horsepower, twin-turbo system. Buyers can start with a cold air intake, cat-back exhaust or stainless steel long-tube headers, but Hennessey says it will also offer up three stages of forced induction mayhem should those bits and baubles not provide enough thrust.
Those choices start with a supercharger system good for up to 700 hp, though Hennessey will gladly ditch the blower in favor of two turbos. Doing so will spin the crank to the tune of 800 horsepower all the way up to a certifiably ludicrous 1,000 ponies. There's no word on how much these tricks will cost you - or when they will be available, as we're guessing they haven't gotten their hands on the car yet - but you can head over to the Hennessey site to drop them a line if you're curious.
Consumer Reports criticizes small turbo engines for misleading performance, fuel economy claims [w/video]
Tue, 05 Feb 2013Consumer Reports has taken aim at at small-displacement, forced-induction engines, saying the powerplants don't manage to deliver on automaker fuel economy claims. Manufacturers have long held that smaller, turbocharged engines pack all power of their larger displacement cousins with significantly better fuel economy, but the research organization says that despite scoring high EPA economy numbers, the engines are no better than conventional drivetrains in both categories. Jake Fisher, director of automotive testing for Consumer Reports, says the forced induction options "are often slower and less fuel efficient than larger four and six-cylinder engines."
Specifically, CR calls out the new Ford Fusion equipped with the automaker's Ecoboost 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine. The institute's researchers found the engine, which is a $795 option over the base 2.5-liter four-cylinder, fails to match competitors in acceleration and served up 25 miles per gallon in testing, putting the sedan dead last among other midsize options.
The Chevrolet Cruze, Hyundai Sonata Turbo and Ford Escape 2.0T all got dinged for the same troubles, though Consumer Reports has found the turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the BMW 328i does deliver on its promises.
