This is a really nice and solid 1956 Chevy BelAir 2 door sedan. Someone started the restoration on this car and ran out of money and room to finish it. The car has been completely stripped to bare metal, new rockers put on, new lower front quarter sections, body work done and put in DuPont hot rod black primer sealer. What's nice about the primer sealer is if you like the old school gasser look or the rat rod look you can just leave it. Or about 90% of the body work has been completed and just needs final blocking and prep to paint it the color of your choice. All the body work was done by a professional restoration shop and I can provide a detailed invoice of all the work completed to this point ($5,700.00 alone) and then there is the price of the small block and 4 speed, and then the value of a very solid 2 door BelAir. The reserve is more than fair and reasonable just to move it to a good home where the car will be finished and appreciated.
Under the hood has all been done in chassis black and a small block Chevy and 4 speed has been installed. I don't know anything about the motor and trans other than that but it looks really good under the hood and looks like what is there would be good to go and just needs to be finished. The motor turns over good.
The car has the very desirable and rare "California" one piece frame that is 100% rust free and stock and unmolested.
The dash in the car is perfect and unmolested. The car comes with a real nice correct front and back seat for recovering. The floors and the trunk are real solid and are what I would say are as rust free as you will ever see. The rear tail pan does have a hole about the size of a silver dollar on each end and the inner rocker have a couple holes on each side, nothing that would need replacing just some patch work would do the trick and on the inner rockers someone has cut out the bad areas and started making the patch panels and I will include them. The floors on the car are excellent but the floor braces do have some rot in them but included with the sale of the car is brand new floor braces, just drill out the spot welds and tack the new one's in, a real simple job and cheap since it comes with $400.00 in new braces.
The vin tag and trim tack are in there original location and have never been tampered with and I have a clear title in my name.
I have a very good friend who is a car shipper that I have used on several occasions without any trouble at all and I can arrange and setup shipping anywhere in the country at a very reasonable cost. (your cost)
What we have is a very desirable and rare TRUE BelAir 2 door with the one piece "California" frame that someone started the restoration and just lost interest and ran out of money and room. All the hard and expensive work has been done and it wouldn't take much time or money to finish it. This could be on the road and ready for this summer really easy without out a lot of time or money.
If you have any questions or would like anymore information please feel free to ask? Thank you.

New auto loans could soon extend out to 84 months
Sun, Apr 22 2018Cars and trucks are more expensive than ever before. In order to boost sales and help consumers afford new vehicles, automakers are offering longer and longer terms for auto loans. This past week, Bloomberg reported that FCA's Ram Trucks division is currently offering the longest loans. Some stretch to 73 months. Jeep, Fiat and Chevy aren't far behind. More noteworthy is that we'll likely soon see lenders moving from 73-month to 84-month loans. That's seven years worth of interest. More than two-thirds of US auto sales come from light trucks like the Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado and Ram 1500. The average transaction price of a new vehicle is well over $30,000. It's not difficult to spec out a heavily-optioned truck up to $60,000. Vehicles depreciate from the moment they roll off a dealer lot, and these six or seven-year loans could hurt consumers and lenders both in the long run. The U.S. Senate voted last week to kill rules that would prevent discriminatory auto lending. These Obama-era guidelines were meant to curtail lenders who offered higher loans based on race, religion, sex or national origin. Cadillac XT4 crossover to be built in Kansas City
Mon, Jan 8 2018Cadillac's upcoming XT4, a crossover we've previously known as the XT3 in a long series of spy shots of heavily camouflaged mules, will be built at General Motors' assembly plant in Kansas City on the same platform as the Chevrolet Malibu, Bloomberg reports, citing people familiar with the plan. That will give Cadillac another entry in the red-hot luxury crossover segment and, GM hopes, help to reverse a sales slump in the U.S. It'll also breath life into the Kansas City plant that makes the slow-selling Malibu, where GM cut a third shift last year, by sharing the assembly line between the crossover and sedan and defraying costs for each vehicle. The XT4 was known most recently as the XT3, with styling cues based on the Escala concept sedan from 2016. It's slightly smaller than the XT5, Cadillac's top-selling vehicle, and will also augment the full-size Escalade in Cadillac's stable of SUVs when it makes its expected debut later this year. Cadillac last week reported its second-highest-ever sales mark with 356,467 vehicles, an increase of 15.5 percent over 2016. But that mark papers over an 8 percent sales decline in the U.S. to 156,440 vehicles. The luxury brand is on a hot streak in China, where sales jumped 50.8 percent last year to 175,489 units.Related Video: Image Credit: Brian Williams Plants/Manufacturing Cadillac Chevrolet GM Crossover sales cadillac xt5 cadillac xt4 cadillac xt3
The USPS needs 180,000 new delivery vehicles, automakers gearing up to bid
Wed, Feb 18 2015Winning the New York City Taxi of Tomorrow tender was a huge prize for Nissan, even though the company is still working through the process of claiming its prize. The United States Postal Service has begun the process to take bids for a new delivery vehicle to replace the all-too-familiar Grumman Long Life Vehicle, and that will be a much larger plum for the automaker who wins it, perhaps worth more than six billion dollars. The Grumman LLV is an aluminum body covering a Chevrolet S-10 pickup chassis and General Motors' Iron Duke four-cylinder engine. The USPS bought them from 1987 to 1994, and the 163,000 of them still in service are a monumental drain on postal resources: they get roughly ten miles to the gallon instead of the quoted 16 mpg, drink up more than $530 million in fuel each year, and their constant repair needs like the balky sliding door and leaky windshields have led the service to increase the annual maintenance budget from $100 million to $500 million. A seat belt is about as modern as it gets for safety technology, and the USPS says that assuming things stay the same, it can't afford to run them beyond 2017. Last year it put out two triage requests for proposals seeking 10,000 new chassis and drivetrains for the Grumman and 10,000 new vehicles. The LLV is also too small for the modern mail system in which package delivery is growing and letter delivery is declining. The service says it doesn't have a fixed idea of the ideal "next-generation delivery vehicles," but it listed a number of requirements in its initial request and is open to any proposal. Carriers have some suggestions, though, saying they want better cupholders, sun visors that they can stuff letters behind, a driver's compartment free of slits that can swallow mail, and a backup camera. The request for information sent to automakers pegs the tender at 180,000 vehicles that would cost between $25,000 and $35,000 apiece, and it will hold a conference on February 18 to answer questions about the contract. GM is the only domestic maker to avow an interest, while Ford and Fiat-Chrysler have remained cagey. Yet with a possible $6.3 billion up for grabs and some new vans for sale that would be advertised on every block in the country, we have a feeling everyone will be listening closely come February 18. We also have a feeling the LeMons series is going to be flooded with Grummans come 2017. News Source: Wall Street Journal, Automotive News - sub.
