1956 Chevrolet Belair Hardtop

Excellent Restoration Candidate

 Original 265 Chevrolet V8

One of the most popular body styles in Chevrolet History

Being offered is a solid and fairly original 1956 Chevrolet 2 Door Hardtop. This car can be driven the way it is or would make a perfect candidate for a restoration or to Hot Rod, and at the end of the day you end up with something that is worth a pile of cash.  This vehicle has excellent body fit and a solid undercarriage.  This is a car that has lines that are timeless and is appreciated by everyone who looks at it.  Take yourself back to a time when life was simpler and cars had style to spare.  The car is driver quality, although this car is not likely to win a car show it is very presentable  and is mechanically complete and ready to cruise. This is one of the most desirable Chevrolet’s ever produced.  This is one of those opportunities to own a vehicle and not lose any money.  Take a look at our feedback and buy with no worries.  As always we encourage pre-bid inspections and phone calls if you have any questions.

Interior Highlights

The interior of this vehicle is in good shape for it’s age as can be seen in the pictures.  The dash is in great shape with bright hardware and a full compliment of original gauges.  The interior of the car is full of timeless accessories and hardware that are all in great shape and really add to the classic feel of this vehicle. The bottom line is everything is there, you can drive it and enjoy it the way it is or completely redo it and have one of the most desirable Chevrolets ever produced.  The main items in the interior that it really needs carpet and door panels. The interior pictures are pretty representable of the condition of the interior.

Exterior Highlights

The Hardtop ’56 has some of the most desirable body lines curb appeal on any car ever built, there is no mistaking that this is a car that is and will always be worth the money and in the Belair trim it just doesn’t get much better.  The exterior of the car is finished in one of the most popular color combinations of matador red and adobe beige, there are numerous paint issues, some of which are shown in the photos, but the majority of the paint is in decent shape.  The body fit is very good all the way around.  The vehicle is loaded with all of the very popular Belair trim.  The body of the car is straight with very good body panel fit.  The exterior has the awesome body lines that are from a time when cars had style and flare. The vehicle is equipped with original steel wheels and hubcaps and older tires.  All exterior hardware is in tact and for the most part in very nice shape, there is some pitting on the door handles, light bezels, and front grill, the bumpers need to be re-chromed.  Most of the stainless on the car is in very good shape with a couple minor dings.  The glass on the car is in great shape with the exception of the driver side cozy wing which is cracked and the front windshield has a rock chip and wiper marks.  The vehicle has been fitted with fiberglass front fenders.  This is one of those cars that pictures up, and looks great from 20 feet away but is not car show worthy, but would be a worthy investment for someone who wants to build a very desirable '56 Chevrolet.

Mechanical Highlights

This vehicle is equipped with it's original drive train, engine verified with pad stamp, 265 V8 small block chevrolet engine with 170 horsepower and power glide transmission.  The vehicle starts, runs, drives, and stops well for a vehicle that was rarely driven.  The engine compartment is very original looking  and relatively clean for its age.

This car has serious potential, if you are considering restoring a ’56 you might as well start with something that at the end of the day will allow you to reap the rewards of your labor, this is one of those kind of cars. The pictures of the car make the car appear better than it really is, this vehicle needs to be restored, it is a good solid car to start with and would be a high end car when finished.

The odometer on this vehicle reads 41,259 miles, the title reads non-actual

GM files to trademark name Badlands

Mon, Feb 23 2015

If you've been hoping for General Motors to come out swinging at the Ford F-150 Raptor, we've had some tantalizing news for you of late. Last month we brought you a report that indicated GM has trademarked the name "Z71 Trail Boss," suggesting a potential hardcore off-roader. Now it seems the General has filed for a potentially even better name. That name, as our friends over at GM Authority have discovered, is "Badlands." The application, filed on February 16, indicates that it's for a truck, but of course it doesn't specify just what form it would take... or for that matter, under which division it would fall. So we could, in theory, be looking at the nameplate for a Raptor rival from Chevy or GMC (like the 2011 Sierra All Terrain HD concept pictured here), or for some other trim level, a concept truck, a special edition... just about anything. Heck, it could be for a Vauxhall, Opel or Holden for all we know at this point. Or GM could choose not to use it on anything at all, but here's hoping it'll emerge as something awesome in US showrooms sometime soon. Race Recap: Rolex 24 at Daytona was fast and feisty

Mon, Jan 26 2015

Let the record show that victory at the 2015 Rolex 24 at Daytona went to the No. 02 Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates Target/Ford EcoBoost Riley DP driven by Verizon IndyCar drivers Scott Dixon and Tony Kanaan and NASCAR drivers Jamie McMurray and Kyle Larson. The winner did 740 laps to cover 2,634.3 miles in 24 hours and 57.667 seconds. That's a statement to this year's pace in spite of 18 cautions, two more than last year: the Michael Shank Racing Ligier got pole with a time of 1:39.194, slower than last year's pole time of 1:38.270; however, the winning car last year only did 695 laps. The fight for top honors was shaved to a four-car battle over the first third of the event. The No. 02 Ganassi car took the lead on the first lap, swapping it well into the night with the No. 01 Ganassi car, the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Corvette DP, and the defending champion No. 5 Action Express Corvette DP, all of them staying within about 20 seconds of one another. The Action Express car had a fuel connector come loose and lost three laps getting towed back to the pits to have it reattached, but was back in the lead 18 hours in. The No. 01 Ganassi car dropped out with recurring clutch problems 22 hours in, retiring not long after. A race-within-the-race is where the concluding action happened, a seven minute, 30-second dash from the end of the last caution to the checkered flag. During the penultimate pit stops with an hour to go, Dixon was in second place followed Jordan Taylor in the Wayne Taylor Racing DP into the pits but beat him out, taking the lead. The Action Express car was in third. In the last pit stops of the race, Dixon gained even more time, getting a four-second advantage over Taylor. Then a full-course caution came out twenty minutes before the finish when a Prototype Challenge car hit the wall and caught fire, bunching up the field. That closed the pits, but the Wayne Taylor Racing car had to pit during that yellow because of a miscalculation of driver time. No driver can be behind the wheel for more than four hours in a six-hour period but Jordan Taylor was going to go over, so he came in to swap out for brother Ricky. That cost the team any chance of second place, since they took an additional drive-through penalty for entering closed pits. When the track went green again, Sebastien Bourdais in the Action Express car stayed all over Dixon for the final five laps but couldn't get around him.
