I have tons of pics of this car, there is way too much to see with only being allowed 24 pics on ebay - please contact me via ebay and I will send pics. The yellow has a fine gold metallic and highlights very well. BEST of everything with clear title in hand and can easily be put on the street. Car has never been raced so I don't have ET's or 60' times. Reserve is set below half of investment. Top of the line parts with over 72K invested in this very nice 55 Chevy with amazing fabrication and aluminum work. SB2.2 377 cubic inch all aluminum small block Chevy - 12 degree valves, this is the motor designed by GM for Winston cup racing. Built by Rhyne racing in Gary Indiana. Just Freshened, have not dyno tested since freshening motor, but, have dyno sheet from original build date in '09. Dyno was 754.8 HP at 7600 rpm and 561 ft-lbs at 6500 rpm with 830 carb. now running new Holley 750 pro series carb. Lots of paperwork that comes with car. Complete Peterson dry sump oil system. Motor holds 80 lbs oil pressure upon start up and 70 lbs hot. Complete EGT kit plumbed to headers to monitor exhaust. Powerglide with blanket, Reactor trans brake, Alston back half, 4-link, Qa-1 coil overs, Fab 9 rear housing, spool, strange axles, 5.13 gears, 9", 33"x17x15 rear slicks, Weld Aluma star wheels with Weld bead locks. 4 wheel Wilwood disc brakes, Alston tubular crossmember, tubular upper and lower control arms with coil overs. 2" drop spindles, Rack and pinion steering, line lock, twin optima batteries, Car is all steel with fiberglass tilt front and fiberglass deck lid. All fiberglass is very straight with NO ripples, waves or mismatched body lines. You will think they are steel. NOT some old race car - it shows very well - voted top 10 drag car at Super Chevy Magazine's Nationals at Indy (kind of ironic since it has never actually made a pass) guess they went off of set up. No dings or scratches - Very nice, deep, crisp reflection paint. All Chrome and trim very nice except the tail light rings which have light pitting. The Chassis is a professional build with chrome moly tig welded cage and all tin work fits perfectly even around cage - no gaps or caulking of any kind. Cage was certified to 8.50 in '09 - '10 but never renewed. Will certify no problem if that is the route you want to go. The carpet is actually black tweed see picture - looks very good. Any flaws on the car are as follows and are pictured in pics 1) Fiberglass rear bumper -spider web checks in the paint in a couple spots. 2) Drivers side interior door panel has small ding. 3) Chrome tail light rings very mild pitting. I have included pics of all these. I am getting out of cars and building the house I will retire in. Contact me for all details and I will give you a very accurate and detailed description, I do not have time to waste and I will not waste yours. Car Mileage on odometer is exempt - It shows roughly 19,000 on odometer but we all know that is not accurate. I will give you the vin when you contact me. Shipping is buyers responsibility but I will make sure car is loaded properly. Very nice car with way more invested than the low reserve price. Chris.

Artist imagines eerie world where cars have no wheels
Thu, 24 Jan 2013The wheel ranks right up there with the telescope and four-slice toaster in the pantheon of inventions that have moved humankind forward. But what if a circle in three dimensions had never occurred to anyone, and we all had just moved on without it? Perhaps we'd be driving around in Lucas Motors Landspeeders with anti-gravity engines. Or maybe we'd have the same cars we do today, just without wheels.
That's the thought experiment that seems to have led French photographer Renaud Marion to create his six-image series called Air Drive. The shots depict cars throughout many eras of motoring that look normal except for one thing: they have no wheels. The models used include a Jaguar XK120, Cadillac DeVille (shown above), Chevrolet El Camino and Camaro, and Mercedes-Benz SL and 300 roadsters.
Perhaps one day when our future becomes our past, you'll be able to walk the street and see with your own eyes the rust and patina of age on our nation's fleet of floating cars. Until then, Monsieur Marion's photographs will have to do.
LG Chem's troubled Chevy Volt battery plant hiring once again
Thu, Sep 25 2014The Michigan battery plant known for paying its workers to do nothing has turned things around and is now hiring more workers, specifically to do something. South Korea-based LG Chem, which runs the factory to supply the Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in vehicle with its lithium-ion batteries, held a job fair recently to bring on 40 new employees in order to meet higher battery demand, according to WZZM, the ABC affiliate for Grand Rapids, MI. The LG Chem factory is in Holland, MI, about 30 miles west of Grand Rapids, and it made its first batteries last year. Prior to that, though, the factory gained notoriety after a US Department of Energy (DOE) probe found that workers there were getting paid to do, well, nothing. That's because demand for the battery packs was so low that it cost less for the plant to sit idle. The DOE was conducting the probe because of its financial grant to LG Chem. But that was then and today is today. LG Chem is looking to ramp up production in advance of the second-generation Volt. That 2016 model-year version is said to have a longer all-electric range and better performance and will ride on a new chassis, but few official details have surfaced. We will know more when we get our first look at the car at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
GM Recalls 218,000 Chevy Aveo Models Over Fire-Prone Lighting
Wed, May 21 2014The recall train keeps on rolling for General Motors. Hot on the heels of its recent 2.4 million-vehicle recall of various models, it's now calling in 218,000 Chevrolet Aveo units from the 2004-2008 model years because they could catch fire. The problem concerns the daytime running light module in the instrument panel. It could overheat, melt and cause a fire. According to GM spokesperson Alan Adler, "We are aware of some fires," and the company "is still investigating." Adler wouldn't comment about how many fires were reported or when the automaker was first aware of this issue because of the ongoing analysis. However, he said the issue has not caused any injuries or fatalities. GM also doesn't have a fix for the problem with the DRL module yet. The company says in its recall statement to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that the remedy "is still under development." Adler wasn't sure when it would be ready, but he said Aveo owners would receive notification in the mail "relatively soon." They will receive a second letter later to schedule the repair. In a separate letter about the Aveo's problem to NHTSA (viewable here as a PDF), GM said its Executive Field Action Decision Committee decided to conduct the recall on May 16. Scroll down for the recall report. RECALL Subject : Daytime Running Light Module Overheating Report Receipt Date: MAY 19, 2014 NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V261000 Component(s): Potential Number of Units Affected: 218,000 Manufacturer: General Motors LLC SUMMARY: General Motors is recalling certain model year 2004-2008 Chevrolet Aveo vehicles equipped with daytime running lights (DRL). In the affected vehicles, there may be heat generated within the DRL module located in the center console in the instrument panel, which could melt the DRL module. CONSEQUENCE: If the DRL module melts due to the heat generation, it could cause a vehicle fire. REMEDY: The remedy for this recall campaign is still under development. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact General Motors customer service at 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet). General Motors recall number for this campaign is 14236.
