1955 Chevrolet Belair Pro Touring Car Low Miles This is a low mileage classic has 73,181 actual miles to be exact. It has a beautiful color combo. It is regal turquoise and white on the exterior as well as the interior. The interior is all original and is decent for its age. The stereo was replaced with a factory looking one and it has an electric antenna. This 55 has had some upgrades, such as a very nice built high performance 350 V-8 with hooker headers, aluminum intake, edelbrock 4 barrel carb., electronic distributor, no points to worry about. Full dual exhaust to the rear, sounds great! Great powerful engine, not cammed or loping, just smooth power with a low rumble. It also sports a 700r4 transmission with overdrive for nice interstate driving and a power disc brake conversion that stops the car on a dime. It handles like a late model car with no rattles. Also has an after market gear indicator with overdrive that sports the factory look (as seen in pics). Thousands have been spent to make this jewel perform like a late model car. This is Not your average 55 Chevy! The underside is solid, floors, mounts, rockers... The white is nice and the turquoise is a little faded but gives it a cool original classic look. GM profits threatened by glut of pickups
Wed, 05 Dec 2012Automotive News reports that General Motors may slash production or ramp up discounts in order to deal with an oversupply of pickup trucks. GM currently has more than double the standard supply of pickups, and the vehicles are threatening to dampen the automaker's profits for 2013. Typically, automakers try to sustain a 60- to 75-day supply of vehicles, but GM is currently loaded with a 139-day supply, as of last month. At the end of November, the automaker was sitting on 245,853 units.
The manufacturer says that it will adjust production accordingly before laying any incentives on the profitable pickups. Even so, there's some concern that the inventory swell could hurt the roll-out of the next-generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. GM actually began slowly stepping back production in August, but it's clear the company will take further action as it heads toward the end of the year and into the next. Analysts predict the automaker could reduce pickup manufacturing by nearly half in the first quarter of 2013.
That still may not be enough to keep GM from laying extra cash on the Silverado and GMC Sierra. While the company's incentive spending was down in November compared to the same month in 2011, both the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 saw double-digit percentage increases in sales last month while the Silverado and Sierra numbers slid compared to a year prior. Incentive spending could help move more trucks and add some balance to the GM inventory surge.
2013 Chevy COPO Camaro announced with two new engines and manual option
Thu, 07 Mar 2013Chevrolet is following up the 2012 COPO Camaro with another limited run of the drag-strip-ready production car for 2013. Ditching the superchargers, the 2013 COPO Camaro can only be equipped with one of three naturally aspirated V8 engines, and other new features include the option of a manual transmission, new front springs, some minor styling changes and a lower starting price of $86,000. All cars are designed to abide by the rules of the NHRA's Stock Eliminator or Super Stock classifications, depending on in which series buyers wish to enter their Chevrolet Camaro.
Returning for 2013 is the 427-cubic-inch V8 producing 425 horsepower, but the new engines include a 325-hp 350-CID V8 and a 375-hp 396-CID V8. Buyers can select to purchase all three engines, and each will be matched with the sequence number of that car; the track-only COPO cars will not have vehicle identification numbers and can't be registered for street use.
Chevrolet is also offering unique enthusiast-specific options such as a COPO Build Book and the opportunity for owners to help assemble their car's engine at the Chevrolet Performance Build Center in Wixom, MI.
