1955 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 2dr Hard Top on 2040-cars
McLouth, Kansas, United States
1955 Chevy 2door hardtop. I've had this car a few years and have never done anything with it. Currently it's pretty dusty and needs cleaned up. The tires and wheels have less than a couple hundred miles on them.
This car has front disc brakes, a 350 chevy engine and a 5speed manual transmission. From not being driven hardly the engine was sputtering a bit I currently have it stored in a barn at a local mechanics shop. He removed the gas tank and had it cleaned out and coated and rebuilt the carb. It is still not quite right and we suspect something in the ignition it's not the stock distributor. There's no engine knocks etc I drove the car back and forth to town and several occasions and it did fine it just needs some tuning. I'm not sure what the interior or transmission is out of. Overall the car looks good, needs some typical trim work here and there etc. I will try and answer questions but be specific i'm not an expert car guy I merely bought this car for a joy ride and just really don't need it. The reserve is considerably less than what I paid and i've seen similar condition ones go for considerably higher also but if not we can blame the snow storm lol. The title is clear, you'll be responsible for any vehicle transport. To not waste my time or yours, a $500.00 NON-refundable deposit is required within 48hrs via Paypal. On Feb-04-14 at 16:28:08 PST, seller added the following information:I'm adding a few things in responses to questions I am getting. 1. I will try to look and get pics of the trunk interior, bottom of doors etc. Hopefully tomorrow or day after at latest we are in a big snow storm right now. 2. Sorry, I am not interested in trades. 3. This item is located near Leavenworth, KS about 50 miles from Kansas City. 4. Meantioned elsewhere....I am not a car guy but will try to do the best I can. 5. You are welcome to come look at it but need to contact me first. |

Looking back at the Citation IV concept that likely shaped the GM EV1
Wed, Aug 20 2014Those who forget history are condemned to repeat it. We're not sure how that applies to the GM EV1, but we'd still like to share something from Autoline Daily, an online automotive new show with our friend John McElroy. He's been covering the business for decades now and recently found something interesting: pictures of the 1984 Chevrolet Citation IV concept, seen above. Displayed half a decade before the first electric concept that would become the EV1 (inset), McElroy says it's now clear that the elegant, aerodynamic EV1 took a lot of styling cues from the Citation IV, which was developed in part thanks to GM's new-at-the-time Aerodynamics Laboratory. We agree with him that the spats over the rear wheels, the flush glass, and the covered headlights all bear a certain kind of similarity between the two cars. That the colors almost match is a nice coincidence. The Impact (the concept version of the EV1) looked "frumpier," McElroy says, because it wasn't as long as the Citation. You can read a lot more about the Citation IV here and check out McElroy's thoughts in the video below. Find the Citation starting at around 3:45. This content is hosted by a third party. Forza Motorsport 6's new drivable Hot Wheels cars are the best
Tue, May 3 2016Each month, Turn 10 Studios releases a new car pack for the latest installment of its Forza Motorsport video game. Sometimes that means less-than-exciting stuff coming to our Xbox Ones – BMW X6M, bleh – but this time our inner seven-year-old is beyond ecstatic. Two of the seven cars are based on actual Hot Wheels models. And. They're. Awesome. First we have the 2011 Hot Wheels Bone Shaker. Yes, there are flames on the side. And yes, there's a giant skull where the grille should be. This one came from the imagination of "Mr. Hot Wheels" Larry Wood, whose design was so popular it inspired an actual real-world creation. Like all good things in this world, it's powered by a small-block Chevy V8. Oh, and it has no roof. This will be a popular one among gamers. The other digitized Hot Wheels creation is a 2005 Ford Mustang. A modest vehicle, sure, but the toy designers have festooned this pony car with a wild paint scheme and the body mods to emphasize it. Originally developed to celebrate the 'Stang's 50th birthday, this Hot Wheels car trades Americana for wild Japanese style. There's just one functioning life-size version of this car in existence as well, but if you look hard, you might be able to find one of the 1:64 scale models that inspired it. Other highlights from this month's car pack include the latest Ford Focus RS – finally time to replace that NASCAR-V8-powered, all-wheel-drive 2009 Focus RS – the 2015 McLaren P1 GTR, the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS, the aforementioned X6M, and Alain Prost's 1990 Ferrari 641 F1 car. The Hot Wheels Car Pack is available for download today.
