1955 CHEVROLET 210 4 DOOR WITH A 265 V8 AND A 3 SPPED ON THE COLUMN MANUAL TRANSMISSION. THIS CAR IS AN ORIGINAL 2 OWNER CAR WHICH SPENT ALL ITS LIFE IN NEW MEXICO. FIRST OWNER DROVE IT 49820 MILES AND IN 2003 SOLD IT TO THE 2ND OWNER WHICH PUT 5291 MILES ON IT UP UNTIL 2005 WHEN HE PARKED IT IN THE GARAGE AND LEFT IT. THIS CAR WAS SITTING UNDER A COLLAPSED GARAGE AND BOUGHT BY ME FROM THE 2ND OWNER. HE SAID IT HAD NOT RUN SINCE 2005. I CHANGED THE PLUGS, WIRES, AND CLEANED THE CARB AND SHE STARTED RIGHT UP. OIL WAS STILL CLEAN AND THE ANTI FREEZE WAS NICE AND GREEN. IT HAS A HUGE HOLE IN THE EXHAUST BEFORE IT GETS TO THE MUFFLER SO IT IS KINDA LOAD BUT IDLES NICE. IT SHIFTS INTO GEAR AND GOES BUT IT HAS ZERO BRAKES. THE METAL LINES ALL APPEAR GOOD BUT WHEN I KEPT PUTTING IN BRAKE FLUID I NOTICED LEAKS IN BOTH THE FRONT HOSES TO THE DRUM BRAKES. I ORDERED A PAIR AND WILL INCLUDE THEM WITH THE SALE. EMERGENCY BRAKE WORKS AND THATS HOW I STOP IT FOR NOW. EXCELLENT OLD SCHOOL MOHAWK 70 SERIES TIRES UP FRONT AND 60 SERIES IN THE BACK. THEY ARE MOUNTED ON 14X7 OLD ALUMINUM SLOTS. IN THE TRUNK WERE WHAT I AM GUESSING AS THE ORIGINAL 4 STEEL WHEELS WITH CHEVY POVERTY CAPS. WHEELS ARE THE SAME COLOR AS THE CAR.
MISSING 1 TRIM REAR QTR SPEAR BUT THE OTHER ONE IS INCLUDED. GLASS IS ALL THERE EXCEPT THE PASSENGER FRONT DOOR BUT I WILL TRY AND LOCATE ONE AND IT WILL BE INCLUDED IF I FIND IT. ROOF IS CLEAN, FENDERS ARE CLEAN, DOORS ARE ALL CLEAN, QUARTERS ARE NICE BUT HAVE A SKIM OF MUD IN THEM FROM YEARS AGO. THEY HELD UP NICE. PAINT IS FADED AND PEELING IN A FEW PLACES BUT THERE IS CLEAN METAL THERE NOT HOLES. TRUNK IS CLEAN BUT THE 2ND OWNER FOR SOME REASON WELDED A PIECE OF METAL ACROSS THE SHOCK TOWERS. THE FLOORS NEED WORK. I AM NO WELDER BUT THESE 55-57'S LOOK LIKE THEY ARE PRETTY FLAT FLOORS SO SHOULD BE A SOMEWHAT EASY FIX. THE INSIDE SEATS DEFINATELY LOOK OLD AND NEED COVERS AND SOME PADDING. DOOR PANELS ARE ALL THERE BUT LOOK OLD AS WELL. DASH IS NICE AND CLEAN AND STEERING WHEEL IS MISSING THE HORN. FRONT WINDSHIELD HAS A COUPLE CRACKS BUT DOESNT LEAK. FRONT SHOCKS AND SPRINGS ARE GOOD. REAREND IS FINE WITH THE LEAF SPRINGS BUT 1 REAR SHOCK IS BROKEN FROM SITTING TOO LONG. FRONT GRILLE IS VERY NICE AND ALL THE CHROME INCLUDING THE HOOD ORNAMENT IS VERY VERY NICE. HEADLIGHTS AND FRONT TURN SIGNALS WORK AND HAVE NO CRACKS, CHIPS OR DAMAGE. REAR LIGHTS HAVE A FEW CRACKS BUT CHROME IS NICE. I DROPPED THE FUEL TANK AND EMPTIED THE STALE GAS AND IT LOOKS NEW SO IT MUST HAVE BEEN REPLACED AT ONE TIME. BUMPERS ARE THERE AND SHINE NICE BUT HAVE A FEW EXPECTED DINGS. HOOD, TRUNK AND DOORS ALL OPEN AND CLOSE NICE. THE TRUNK OF COURSE YOU HAVE TO OPEN WITH A SCREW DRIVER BECAUSE THE LOCK IS MISSING.
THIS IS A REALLY NICE FIND AND IF SOMEONE KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT FLOORS....THIS IS AN EASY FIX.
I HAVE TOO MANY PROJECTS AHEAD OF THIS ONE AND I REALLY THOUGHT I WOULD BE ABLE TO GET THIS IN MY GARAGE AND START STRIPPING IT DOWN FOR RESTORATION BEFORE WINTER HITS BUT IT DOESNT LOOK LIKE IT. THOUGHT MAYBE SOMEONE WOULD HAVE AN EMPTY GARAGE AND IN NEED OF AN AWESOME 55 CHEVY RUNNING PROJECT.
I WOULD DEFINATELY NOT SUGGEST YOU DRIVE THIS HOME UNLESS YOU ARE MY NEIGHBOR. I CAN ASSIST WITH PICKUP AND HELP IN ANY WAY POSSIBLE. IT DOES NOT NEED TO BE PICKED UP IMMEDIATELY BUT I WOULD EXPECT TO GET FULL PAYMENT WITHIN 5-7 DAYS. I HAVE THE ROOM OUTSIDE AND I AM COMPLETELY FENCED IN FOR PRIVACY AND SECURITY.
PLEASE ASK ALL THE QUESTIONS YOU LIKE AND OFFERS ARE ALWAYS ENCOURAGED. I DO ANSWER ALL EMAILS.
THANKS FOR LOOKING AND I DEFINATELY APPRECIATE YOUR BIDS.

Before Chevrolet's Redline, there was the Saturn Red Line
Thu, Feb 9 2017While Chevy rolls out Redline special editions across more of the lineup at this year's Chicago Auto Show, we've been eating some 'member berries and started thinking about the last time GM used the term. Back in 2004, Saturn rolled out Red Line (two words) editions of the Ion and Vue. The lineup was joined by the Sky Red Line in 2007, and the second-generation Vue kept the tradition going in 2008. This was in the heady days of the mid-2000s, before the financial crisis and GM's bankruptcy reorganization that saw the end of Saturn. The press release headline for the 2008 Sky is now cringe-worthy: "Hot-selling Sky helps drive Saturn product renaissance." Performance lineups were the hot new thing, as automakers attempted to cash in on the tuner trend popularized by The Fast and the Furious. Chevy had SS models, Pontiac had GXP, and Saturn had Red Line. Across the Detroit Metro area, Dodge had a slew of SRT models, and Ford's Special Vehicle Team brought us the SVT Lightning pickup, the SVT Focus, and a smattering of hopped-up Mustangs. The performance cred of Red Line models varied from car to car. The Ion Red Line shared the same engine as the original Chevy Cobalt SS, a 205-horsepower supercharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, 65 hp more than stock. Car and Driver tested one with a 0-to-60-mph time of 6.1 seconds and said the Ion "tears down the wall that has separated enthusiasts from the Saturn brand for so long." The Vue Red Line, meanwhile, came with the same optional Honda-sourced 3.5-liter V6 you could get in the regular Vue, and added a stiffer, lower suspension, bigger wheels with more aggressive rubber, and recalibrated steering assist. When the Vue was redesigned for the 2008 model year, the Vue Red Line was a similar proposition. The engine was now from GM, and up 7 horsepower to 257, but you could get it in both Red Line and XE trim. Aside from the tire and suspension upgrades, Red Line models now came with a unique front fascia and rear exhaust cutouts. The most exciting Red Line, of course, was the high-performance version of the Sky roadster, which shared underpinnings with its Pontiac Solstice twin. This model came with GM's hot 2.0-liter Ecotec Turbo, good for 260 horsepower. The extra power was crucial in covering up the Sky's unfortunate manual gearbox ratios, which left the non-turbo model aching for torque in lower gears. As we all know, Saturn was taken by the grim reaper in 2009 after an attempt to sell the brand to the Penske Group.
GM will recall more than 3.3 million vehicles in China for suspension defect
Sat, Sep 29 2018BEIJING (Reuters) - General Motors' joint venture in China, Shanghai GM, will recall more than 3.3 million Buick, Chevrolet and Cadillac vehicles stating Oct. 20 because of a defect with the suspension system, China's market regulator said on Saturday. GM Shanghai said in a text message to Reuters that the suspension arm may be deformed under extreme operating conditions, but there are no known casualties related to the issue. The recall includes cars produced between 2013 and 2018, the State Administration for Market Regulation said in a statement. GM will contact those affected and repair the vehicles free of charge, it said. Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards
Tue, 27 Nov 2012Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.
The overall top 10 models for the best resale value in 2013 are, in alphabetical order:
