1953 Chevrolet BelAir 2 door sedan roller. garage find
Are you tired of working on a project with rusty floors, trunk floor, floor braces, rockers, doors etc. then this is the car for you.
This body is as close to rust free as a 60 year old car gets.
The car has been garaged most of it's life.
Original seat covers still in decent shape.
This car is a steal, hard to find this good of a starting point for my low reserve.
Unfortunately an eye injury will delay the build indefinitely, so I have decided to sell.
This was a well optioned car - Powerglide, power steering, tinted glass, deluxe heater, radio, clock, fender skirts, etc.
It's new life could be that of a well optioned updated car.
I had planned a 350 with automatic overdrive, TCI front and rear suspension, power steering, Vintage Air, cruise and tilt.
The original drivetrain and steering gear have been removed and sold since I was going to build a modified car.
Unfortunately an eye injury will delay the build indefinitely, so I have decided to sell.
The previous owner had started disassembly about 20 yrs ago and primed some of the body (only to preserve it).
New weatherstripping including windshield and backglass rubber, door rubber, trunk rubber, fender antisqueak rubber.
Also included are new window felts, window channel (flexible and rigid) and side glass channel setting rubber.
A complete triple-plated chrome rear bumper and bumper guards is included.
A new wiring harness is included.
The grill and right front fender were damaged many years ago, The new owner can choose to repair or replace these.
The windshield and back glass and the beltline stainless trim is included.
It appears that most of the BelAir stainless around the side windows is included.
Basically there is none of the BelAir side stainless trim.
I was going to weld up these holes for the smooth look.
For a better idea of the stainless included please see the pics.
The front and back glass garnish moldings are inclded.
The front and back glass are included.
All side glass mechanisms work.
Original instruments, condition unknown, are included
The Pontiac Rally wheels on the car are not included but are available at extra cost.
The original wheels will be installed which are good enough only to load the car on a trailer.
The original front suspension has been left for rolling around the shop until a Mustang II based front suspension or GM subframe is installed.
The original rear axle has been replaced with a proper width GM 10 bolt posi rear axle.
All loose items will fit inside the trunk and interior for shipping.
Please contact Steve at 205-422-8967 with questions.
My sale policy is simple, a $250 deposit is required within 24 hours.
If you don't want the car when you come to pick it up you only forfeit the small deposit to cover my advertising expense.
Many more pics are available if desired.
The State of Alabama does not issue titles for vehicles of this age. A notarized bill of sale will be furnished.

2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible is a Swiss hit
Mon, 04 Mar 2013We've just received an early peek at the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible here at the Geneva Motor Show. General Motors was kind enough to let us attend the final dress-rehearsal for its press conference scheduled for tomorrow's opening media day, and we've come away with a good look at the droptop C7 in person.
In the metal, the new Corvette Convertible seems somehow less avant-garde than the Coupe, even in Z51 Performance Package guise. That's not necessarily a bad thing - more of an observation. That initial impression may be because the C7's new greenhouse is one of its most prominent departures from Corvettes past. While we didn't get to see the top erected, there's no rear side window in the stock images that Chevy has already released, suggesting the C7 convertible's profile will look a lot like its C6 predecessor. And with the new power tonneau cover in place, there are also no rear ducts that come as part of the Z51 package (they've been moved under the car).
As with its predecessor, the tonneau is a handsome double-bubble piece, and the body-color "waterfall" element into the cabin between the seats has made it to the new model as well. Thus, the overall look with the top down should be a bit more familiar to prior-gen C6 owners - if you're one of those put off by the C7's new shape, you'll probably appreciate the convertible bodystyle more than the coupe.
This 93-car Iowa auction is like a Big 3 classic muscle museum
Tue, Aug 27 2019Bill "Coyote" Johnson has been buying cars since high school and has amassed a collection totaling 113 vehicles, according to NBC 6 News. But time has changed his motivations and priorities, and he's decided to auction 93 of those cars, many of which are classic muscle from Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, Plymouth and Pontiac. The megasale will take place Sept. 14, 2019, in Red Oak, Iowa, at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds. A 1969 Plymouth Road Runner infected Coyote with a love for Detroit muscle when he was just a teenager, and his desire quickly turned into an obsession. He's spent the past 40 years finding, buying and working on a variety of makes and models. Unlike some collectors, Coyote didn't discriminate against certain brands and has rides from each of the Big 3 automakers. Included in the auction are Camaros, Satellites, Super Bees, Chargers, Challengers, Barracudas, Coronets, GTOs, Mustangs, Cutlasses and others. Possibly the most intriguing aspect of the auction is that all of these cars will be sold as-is with no reserve. Many of them will need work, depending on quality standards, but this seems like a golden opportunity to find a classic car without leaving a bank account in shambles. The auctions are open for bidding online now, and the full auction will take place on September 14. Check out the full listings and bid at VanDerBrink Auctions.
China's rise, global restructuring wither GM's Korea division
Wed, Jan 7 2015An article in the Daily Kanban suggests the sun is setting on GM Korea, and it could already be well into dusk. GM Korea came about when General Motors, along with co-investors SAIC and Suzuki, bought Daewoo Motors from parent company Daewoo Group in 2001; it had a previous tie-up with GM, a joint venture that ended in 1992, although Daewoo cars were based on GM cars until 1996. Over the decade following the purchase, it became such an important part of operations that it was renamed GM Korea in 2011, "to reflect its heightened status in [the] global operations of GM." Just two years later, the printed rumors were that the subsidiary responsible for a fifth of Chevrolet's global production could be shutting down. The division's sales were down almost 21 percent through November of last year, counting domestic South Korean sales, exports, and CKD – Complete Knock Down – products. That makes the labor strife, already an issue for four years, even more acute, reports say the subsidiary will lose $36 million a year if it can't get the job and wage cuts it wants, and government concessions can't make up for the losses. And it gets worse, so head over to Daily Kanban to read the rest of the story.
