I purchased this car in 2011 from a local dealer.  It's been a reliable car for getting around town and going on road trips.  I'm selling it since my commute schedule is less now with a recent job change.  My wife and I believe we could live with just one car now.

The car requires a payoff with the lien holder.  The payoff balance is below the lower end of private seller retail value for the make/model/mileage per NADA guides, Kelly Blue Book, and recent sales of the same make/model/year on eBay.

This 2009 Chevy Aveo does NOT have power locks, power windows, cruise control, or keyless entry as is.  I believe that these features can be installed by authorized Chevrolet dealers however.  It's a basic no-frills car that is fuel-efficient and not as high on horsepower as it is on affordability.  I'm not a smoker and neither is my wife so the car does not have "smoker's odor".  My wife and I verified gas mileage as high as 43 mpg on a recent 2,000 mile road trip however the baseline city fuel economy is about 30-35 miles per gallon.  It would be a great car for someone needing affordable yet reliable transportation in today's higher passenger vehicle cost environment.  One of my favorite things about the car has been the drop-down feature for the back seats to fit even large bulky items in the trunk.  The full-sized tire and cloth grocery bag in the trunk as pictured are not included with this auction.  I added 4 qty. 14" after-market wheel covers to update the look of the car after purchase in 2011.  The stereo system features an 'Aux-In' microphone jack which is helpful for broadcasting audio through the car speakers from certain cell phones and audio player sources.  The factory warranty has just expired or is about to expire, I'm not 100% sure.

I'd be happy to provide the maintenance and oil change records upon request.  The 30,000 mile scheduled service was done recently which involved changing the transmission fluid.  The car may need a new serpentine belt soon due to normal wear and tear.  Also the brake pads may need to be replaced due to normal wear and tear.  The A/C air compressor was serviced last year and now operates normally.  Most oil changes were with synthetic blend oil, not traditional motor oil.

Payment in full would need to be made directly to the lien holder and funds cleared prior to delivery/possession.  Just send me a message to request the lien holder payoff documentation if you are interested in submitting a bid.

For out-of-area buyers, I recommend using Dependable Auto Shippers for convenient yet affordable shipment of this vehicle out of the Dallas, Texas area.  I live close to the Dallas DAS terminal which could save on auto transport costs.

I can assist with getting the title forms signed either in person or electronically upon delivery/possession once funds are processed by lien holder per Texas state law for title transfers (I'm not a dealer but the title MUST be transferred into buyer's name upon receipt of cleared payment AND delivery/possession).

Meet Alex Archer, the engineer behind GM's power-sliding center console

Sat, Feb 15 2020

In 2009, a GM manager complained to a 59-year-old GM technician about the hassle of retrieving items from a pickup truck bed after driving shifted the cargo. In two days, the tech had come up with the ideas that, ten years later, would debut as the MultiPro tailgate. The engineering teams kept the tailgate secret in part by hiding mock-ups in a locked storage closet in GM's Vehicle Engineering Center in Warren Michigan for two years. A piece in the Detroit Free Press reveals that another storage closet in Warren would play the same role in a different cloak-and-dagger operation, this time for the power-sliding center console in GM's new full-sized SUVs. During a meeting in early 2017, bosses gave the job of the console's creation to 24-year-old design release engineer Alex Archer, just two years out of Stanford University with a degree in engineering and product design.  This time, the catalyst for the feature was an internal GM think tank called co:lab, where employees suggest ideas. Execs gave Archer the task because "They needed someone willing to ask a lot of questions," her 36-month mandate to produce a six-way console that could be a standard cubby or a gaping maw able to swallow four gallon jugs or hide a secret compartment. Clearly, she succeeded. It took Archer and the team nine months to devise a prototype, another six months to get the green light for production. As with the tailgate, the team working on the console grew to include designers, production engineers, and suppliers. Archer, now 26, shepherded the process, and her name is on the patent. "It took a ton of people, I'm just somebody who stuck with it the whole time," she said. GM like her work well enough to produce the "Day in the Life" segment above, five months before the world would hear about the console. Archer's path to engineering was as unlikely as getting the job for the console. She had entered Stanford with plans to be a doctor. But an innovation class during her freshman year, and a sophomore summer spent helping her grandfather rebuild a 1937 MG engine recharted her course. Her grandfather told her, "You know, you could be an engineer for a car company." Consumer reaction to Archer's work won't be far off, the SUVs slated to hit dealerships soon. Meanwhile, she's busy on something that could be just as intense as the console: Restoring a 1955 Packard Clipper in her garage. Head to Freep to check out the story of Archer and the console. 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible is the track car for sun worshippers

Fri, 11 Apr 2014

Supercharged, 6.2-liter V8? Check. Seven-speed manual? Check. Obsession with weight? Check.
What did you expect when Chevrolet said it was bringing a new Corvette variant to the 2014 New York Auto Show? Maybe a sticker and trim package, like the C6 Corvette Grand Sport or a tie-in deal like the Black Widow car from Chicago? On the opposite end, maybe there was an even more hardcore Z06 waiting in the wings. Who knew?

Car Club USA: Corvette Homecoming

Tue, Mar 17 2015

Car Club USA travels to Bowling Green, KY to document the annual Corvette Homecoming, where owners travel from around the country to reconnect with the manufacturing birthplace of their vehicles. We follow two contestants in the "Show and Shine" competition, for whom the human connection at the event is just as important as showing off their wheels. "That's probably the biggest thing about this weekend," says one attendee, "there's a connection with Corvette people." Of course, the grandeur seeing stunners like a 1959 Corvette convertible, 1966 Big Block and 2002 Z06 is worth the price of admission. Get a firsthand look at the Homecoming experience, and the folks that make it so special. Each Car Club USA episode features a different car club or event from across the US, where passionate owner communities gather to share automotive experiences and embark on incredible adventures. From Main Street cruises to off-road trails, catch all the latest car club activity on Autoblog.
