88 Convertible Iroc-z - 1 Owner Since New-all Original With 43k Miles on 2040-cars
Vicksburg, Michigan, United States
On Apr-02-14 at 12:49:31 PDT, seller added the following information: 88 Convertible IROC-Z, 43K ORIGINAL miles, has only had 1 owner since new, original window sticker and paperwork included, stored winters since new. Interior is in excellent condition, top is in great shape, the tires are original as well but are dry rotted and will need replacing (only 3 of the 4 hold air), it has an auto trans with a 305 TPI, cruise, air (needs recharge), tilt, am/fm, cassette, paint is in good shape with some fading and could use a repaint or leave as is. The driver side mirror is cracked and the horn cover will need replacing. The Camaro is in overall great shape with some touch ups needed, could use a tune up as well, has been sitting for awhile. Email with any questions. I have searched around and these cars are getting harder to find. The Camaro runs, drives and looks great, it will need a tune up and new tires. The Iroc-Z is all original, no mods, the minor accident report is due to the front passenger side fender. The Camaro is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this auction anytime. A $500 paypal deposit required at end of auction, the rest in CASH, I will not accept checks unless it's a cashiers check ( car will not be released til check clears ) so cash is best. I will hold car for up to 5 days after payment in full. Buyer is responsible for contacting seller for pick up arrangements. I will not ship the car, that is the buyers responsibility. Did not take pics of the top due to it sitting all winter long with the top down and I did not want to take a chance on damaging the top, the wheel emblems will need replacing as well for most of them are faded. The weather was sunny up here in Michigan today and the snow was gone so I took the opportunity of taking pics of the top. The car is being sold as is, the Camaro was only taken out of the garage for pictures while there was still snow on the ground and the additional pics were recently taken later as most of snow is now gone................................................ On Apr-02-14 at 13:12:46 PDT, seller added the following information: what was added were ADDITIONAL PICS and BEING SOLD AS IS ............................... The IROC is a one owner car since new, stored winters, original window sticker and all paperwork included. The value keeps climbing every year and 1 owner Iroc's are hard to find. It has a high Auto Check score from Ebay. I can send additional pics if needed, email if you have any other questions or concerns. The Iroc is in great shape, would not call it excellent due to the fading and touch ups needed and it's not mint or I would be asking a lot more for it. On Apr-08-14 at 09:46:05 PDT, seller added the following information: Lowered reserve, good luck |

Bring back the Bronco! Trademarks we hope are actually (someday) future car names
Tue, Mar 17 2015Trademark filings are the tea leaves of the auto industry. Read them carefully – and interpret them correctly – and you might be previewing an automaker's future product plans. Yes, they're routinely filed to maintain the rights to an iconic name. And sometimes they're only for toys and clothing. But not always. Sometimes, the truth is right in front of us. The trademark is required because a company actually wants to use the name on a new car. With that in mind, here's a list of intriguing trademark filings we want to see go from paperwork to production reality. Trademark: Bronco Company: Ford Previous Use: The Bronco was a long-running SUV that lived from 1966-1996. It's one of America's original SUVs and was responsible for the increased popularity of the segment. Still, it's best known as O.J. Simpson's would-be getaway car. We think: The Bronco was an icon. Everyone seems to want a Wrangler-fighter – Ford used to have a good one. Enough time has passed that the O.J. police chase isn't the immediate image conjured by the Bronco anymore. Even if we're doing a wish list in no particular order, the Bronco still finds its way to the top. For now (unfortunately), it's just federal paperwork. Rumors on this one can get especially heated. The official word from a Ford spokesman is: "Companies renew trademark filings to maintain ownership and control of the mark, even if it is not currently used. Ford values the iconic Bronco name and history." Trademarks: Aviator, AV8R Company: Ford Previous Use: The Aviator was one of the shortest-run Lincolns ever, lasting for the 2003-2005 model years. It never found the sales success of the Ford Explorer, with which it shared a platform. We Think: The Aviator name no longer fits with Lincoln's naming nomenclature. Too bad, it's better than any other name Lincoln currently uses, save for its former big brother, the Navigator. Perhaps we're barking up the wrong tree, though. Ford has made several customized, aviation themed-Mustangs in the past, including one called the Mustang AV8R in 2008, which had cues from the US Air Force's F-22 Raptor fighter jet. It sold for $500,000 at auction, and the glass roof – which is reminiscent of a fighter jet cockpit – helped Ford popularize the feature. Trademark: EcoBeast Company: Ford Previous Use: None by major carmakers.
Dale Earnhardt, Jr. puts his Callaway Corvette and '55 Chevy on eBay
Sat, Jan 24 2015Dale Earnhardt, Jr. has put a couple of his personal cars up for sale on eBay. The first is a 1955 Chevy Bel Air that Junior had reworked by Funkmaster Flex, a bit of a diversion from Flex's more common Ford efforts. Junior's ride has a replacement chassis from Jim Meyer Racing, a 434 small-block tuned by Sharioff Racing to 500 horsepower, and truly thin rubber on what appear to be aluminum billet rims with Junior's former number 8 on the center caps. The interior is all custom and painted to match the outside, and those seats have been completely reupholstered. The second car is a 1999 Callaway C12, the 18th of 19 C12s built that year and featured in a 2002 issue of AutoWeek. It joined Earnhardt's private collection in 2004. Built on the base of a C5 Chevrolet Corvette and using a lot of technical know-how from Callaway's European racing program, the BMW #287 Blue Pearl C12 had its V8 bored out to 6.2 liters and graced with Callaway's Supernatural upgrade; it also has a Callaway coil-over suspension with adjustable dampers. There's new bodywork all around, and when new it cost about $200,000. At the time of writing bidding on the Bel Air was up to $80,100, the C12 was at $63,100. The auction ends Monday morning, and the winning bidders have the option of having their prizes autographed and retrieving the keys from Dale Jr himself if they're willing to go to Moorseville, NC. 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Convertible offers a few more views before reveal
Mon, 04 Mar 2013Over the weekend, Chevrolet released its first images of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Now, ahead of the droptop's official introduction tomorrow at the Geneva Motor Show, the automaker has given us a few more shots of the softop C7 showing off the car's rump albeit from a high, strategically positioned angle.
From this angle, it's hard to get a sense for how long and flat the decklid really is, but we can easily see that, like the rest of the C7's design, the new convertible's decklid and tonneau cover are far more detailed than the current car. We also get a better look at the rear haunches sans brake vents, which have apparently been moved to underneath the car in order to accommodate the top's hard cover.
As for the overall styling of the C7 convertible, with the top erected, we get some idea of what a coupe design (as opposed to the Stingray's fastback shape) would look like on this car. The C5 Corvette most recently had a coupe model that did away with the large glass hatchback, and we recently reported on a low-cost "coupe" model potentially being added to the C7's repertoire.
