This is my 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche LT. I Bought it pretty well equipped however I decided to add in some "essential" upgrades. First I added the Xtrons DVD/Navigation System. I specifically bought this system for its ability to upload your own Navigation software (it is currently running IGO Primo) I also bought this for its ability to play videos over USB drive. Secondly I installed the Rear DVD headrest monitors, they are 9 " touch screen individual DVD players in which I ran them together so you can watch a movie on both or individual DVD's on either one. I also ran the NAV system to the input on the DVD headrests so you can watch music videos instead of just listening to boring CD's! All my friends love this! The headrests also play older games like pong, frogger, and space invaders..... there are two controllers and two wireless headphones that come with it. I then Installed the 12" JL W7 in the mid gate of the truck in a custom professionally made leather faced enclosure. There is a 30 Fared Power Acoustics Hybrid Capacitor under the rear seat along with a 1500 Watt Kicker Mono D Amplifier. I just installed HID headlights in the high beams, low beams, and fog lights! Finally the biggest head tuner of all I installed 28" Limited Rims with paintable inserts, wrapped in 295/60/R28 308 Tires! I originally had spring spacers however the ride was rough so my mechanic installed a 2" front leveling kit, in which now it rides very smooth! I will also include the stock rims with the sale in which the stocks are wrapped in 285/ 65/R17 Cooper Discovery ST MAXX's (they look very agressive!) They are 10 Ply tires so it is a little bit rougher however they are very quite while driving highway. This truck has always got me home safely and snow covered roads have never slowed this truck down.... I am a manager for a mechanics shop so all work has been done professionally and IMMEDIATLY! I never let a dash light stay on! It has been very well kept and all my friends say I drive like a grandma in my truck! If you have any questions feel free to call josh @ 712 540 3481 I will answer any questions.

Watch a camo'ed next-gen Chevy Volt go ice driving

Tue, Dec 23 2014

Teasers for the 2016 Chevy Volt continue, The Bowtie showing us in this latest outing how its range-extended hybrid dances on ice and snow. It will only take 42 seconds of your life so don't expect an Arctic challenge, but if you in the snow regions had any doubts about how it will handle the frozen goods, this should help assuage them. The bigger and better, more powerful and faster Volt - able to run regular fuel - will get out from under its camo at the North American International Auto Show next month. For now, enjoy the way it moves its hips in the video above. News Source: Chevrolet via YouTube, Facebook Detroit Auto Show Chevrolet Videos

General Motors CEO Provides Few Details In Appearance Before Congress

Wed, Apr 2 2014

It was only two months ago that Mary Barra, freshly crowned as the new General Motors chief executive officer, visited Washington DC as an esteemed guest of First Lady Michelle Obama for the State of the Union address. On Tuesday, Barra returned to the Capitol under more strained circumstances. For more than two contentious hours, she took questions from members of a House of Representatives subcommittee investigating General Motors years-long delay in initiating a recall of millions of vehicles that contained a defect that has killed at least 13 people. Why did GM accept faulty ignition switches that were below the company's set specfications? Why did GM learn about the problem in 2001 yet take no action until 2014? Will GM compensate victims' families even though the company's bankruptcy may limit its liability? Those were a few of the questions members of the House Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee asked. Few concrete answers were forthcoming. For her part, Barra sidestepped most of the questions, saying she wouldn't have information needed to answer them until an internal review is completed. David Friedman, the administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, testified after Barra. The biggest news that emerged from the hearing was that General Motors has retained attorney Kenneth Feinberg to advise the company on its civil and legal responsibilities. He has made a career of resolving disputes and serving in a 'fixer' role, serving as the chief of the federal government's September 11th Victim Compensation Fund, as an administrator of compensation fund for victims of the BP Deepwater Horizon disaster and a similar fund for victims of the Boston Marathon bombing. Barra, who has been GM's CEO since January but been with the company since 1980, expects to meet with Feinberg on Friday, and have a concrete plan within the next 30-60 days. Yet Barra would not say for certain Tuesday that GM would compensate the victims at all. Despite repeated questions from Rep. Diana DeGette (D-Colo.), Barra did not outline the company's intentions. "I assume GM is hiring (Feinberg) to help identify the size of claims and then compensate the victims? Is that right," DeGette asked. "Is GM willing to put together some kind of a compensation fund for these victims that Mr. Feinberg will then administer?" "We've hired him to help assess the situation," Barra replied. "So really, there's no money involved at this point," DeGette asked.

Chevy monitors drivers' biometrics while experiencing new Corvette Stingray

Fri, 25 Oct 2013

We tell you about what a car is like to drive every day, remarking on throttle response, steering weight and feedback, squat, dive, brake fade and a dozen or more other factors of performance. What we can't tell you, though, is what the car does to us - how its performance impacts us, physically. That's what makes this video series from Chevrolet so darn cool.
The Bow-Tie brand rented out Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, got several (very) different individuals together, strapped a bunch of sensors to their bodies to record biometric data ranging from heart rate to respiration to brain activity, and then handed them keys to the new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The results are explained in a series of videos, devoted to each driver, showing how different people react to the Corvette's performance.
If, like your author, you're a nerd for medical science, this is going to be a fascinating set of videos. If not, it's still pretty cool to see how the body of someone with racing experience, like Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi, reacts to tracking a car like the Corvette Stingray compared to the owner of legendary Detroit barbecue joint, Slows BBQ. Take a look below for all six videos from the series, or hop over to the Corvette Vimeo channel for the interactive experience, where you can see all the different metrics.
