1994 Chevy Astro Van Ext. Awd on 2040-cars
Ormond Beach, Florida, United States
You are bidding on a nice 1994 Chevy Astro EXT.van with AWD. We have owned this van for almost 2 years. It has never failed in any way. This is a conversion van but I removed the running boards and the pieces around the fenders in order to put on larger tires. I still have all these pieces and if you want them they will come with the van. It has leather interior with no cracks in the dash or door panels. It has a Sony stereo with CD player. It starts, runs, drives and stops great. The tires are Goodyear Wrangler all terrians with about 200 miles on them. They were bought at Discount tires and we have all the papers. Since we have owned it I have installed new lift struts on the rear window gate. Also cleaned out under the van and painted with Rustoleum industrial grade enamel. The oil & filter was changed about 3 months ago. If you are not familiar with the Astro AWD system, they have a front & rear differential and a BorgWarner transfer case and will go just about anywhere. This van would be good for camping, fishing and hunting trips, winter time if you live in an area where you get snow or just a daily driver. You just never know when you may need the AWD. There is a front skid plate and a small push bar and a rear hitch. There is a scrape on the side sliding door where the previous owner got too close to a tree branch. It's hard to see because of the stripes in the paint. I changed all the fluids in the differentials and the transfer case and greased all the fittings. The van never over heats even in the hottest weather and it holds good oil pressure. All gauges work. The AC is cool but not ice cold and will need serving unless you know how to do this yourself. The only reason we are selling this is because we bought an old VW Beetle and need the money for this project. Sold as is - where is. Please email with any questions. There is a non refundable deposit of $200.00 due within 24 hours of the end of the auction paid by Pay Pal. The balance is due within 7 days of the end of the auction by bank money order, cashiers check. All funds must clear before the van can be picked up. Seller not responsible for shipping but I will assist in any way I can. I can store the van for up to two weeks at no cost. Thanks and happy bidding. |

Reuss says GM diesel plans are still on pace
Fri, Oct 16 2015General Motors is not going to let Volkswagen's diesel emissions scandal ruin its plans for a new line of efficient, torquey oil-burners, the company's Executive Vice President Mark Reuss said at a recent press event. "No way," Reuss responded when asked about cancelling the upcoming diesel-powered Chevrolet Cruze and other vehicles. "The Cruze Diesel is too good not to do it." Slated for 2017, the compact is just the latest member of a diesel offensive that initially kicked off with the first Cruze Diesel and most recently saw the introduction of the oil-burning Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon. Reuss also reassured those in attendance that there was "no delay" in development of Cadillac's diesel lineup. Cadillac is working on a line of four- and six-cylinder turbodiesels for Europe. They'd make their way into the US market, too, eventually. "It's a question of timing," Reuss said, according to Car and Driver. Volkswagen's diesel emissions scandal has caused automakers across the globe to at least reanalyze their diesel strategy. Jaguar Land Rover, which is preparing several diesel-powered models for the US market, went on record late last month to reaffirm its commitment to diesel. GM raises 2023 guidance on strong sales, higher profits
Tue, Apr 25 2023General Motors beat first-quarter profit estimates and raised its full-year earnings and cash-flow guidance after vehicle demand at the start of the year surpassed expectations. Its shares rose in premarket trading. GM made $2.21 a share in adjusted profit in the first quarter, compared to a consensus forecast of $1.72 a share. Revenue rose 11% to $39.99 billion, it said Tuesday, which was more than the $39.24 billion analysts expected. The stronger results stem from rising sales in the US, even in the face of higher interest rates and inflation. GM executives said demand was strong enough to revise 2023 guidance upward, boosting profit estimates for the year by $500 million to between $11 billion and $13 billion. “We did it with strong production and inventory discipline and consistent pricing,” GM Chief Financial Officer Paul Jacobson said on a call with journalists. “All in all, weÂ’re feeling confident about 2023.” The Detroit automaker raised per-share full-year guidance to between $6.35 and $7.35, up from $6 to $7 a share, and said free cash flow would also increase by $500 million to a range of $5.5 billion to $7.5 billion. GMÂ’s shares pared a gain of as much as 4.4% before the start of regular trading Tuesday, rising 3.5% to $35.50 as of 6:55 a.m. in New York. The stock was up 1.9% for the year as of the close on Monday. North American Strength The automakerÂ’s sales were particularly strong in North America, where first-quarter earnings rose before interest and taxes rose to $3.6 billion. Vehicle sales rose 18% to 707,000 in the region. Jacobson said the company originally expected to sell 15 million vehicles in the US this year, slightly less than the 15.5 million annualized rate automakers foresaw in the first quarter. North American demand was enough to offset a weak performance in China, GMÂ’s second-largest market. The automaker continues to struggle in the country, where its vehicle sales fell 25% to 462,000 vehicles in the quarter. Profits from its joint ventures in the market slumped 65% to $83 million. The market has struggled overall in the wake of Covid-19 restrictions and foreign automakers have had to overcome a growing preference for Chinese brands by competing on price, squeezing profit margins. The situation in China probably wonÂ’t significantly improve until the second half of the year, according to Jacobson. GM remains on target to sell 150,000 electric vehicles this year, the CFO said.
Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit
Mon, 20 Jun 2011Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
