No Reserve! Only 49,000 Miles, Navigation, Title + Very Easy Fix, Chrome Alloys! on 2040-cars
Brooklyn, New York, United States
Up for sale is this Fantastic 2008 Cadillac XLR Convertible.
This Caddy is has only 49,000 miles and is a great, reliable vehicle. The
exterior of this high-line vehicle is
finished in Cranberry Red and complimented with the Black leather
interior. Unfortunately,
this car was involved in a light front impact and its being sold with a Rebuilt title from New York. The air bags did not deploy and the frame rails are straight and untouched. The suspension is also all good and the vehicle steers arrow straight and lot drives perfectly. The motor and transmission are also 100% and suffered no damage at all. It will not take much to get this vehicle in great shape again. The vehicle will need 2 headlights, 2 fenders, a front bumper, a grill, a radiator (this one may be fixable), a drivers side door glass, and an upper radiator support (which cost $80 on ebay). The hood is good and suffered no damage.
This vehicle has a Rebuilt title, so the vehicle can be driven after is it fixed. This vehicle will NOT have no go through any kind of state inspection or anything like that. It can be titled in your name immediately. I am selling it with an open-title as well. This is a BIG plus!
This Cadillac is in perfect
mechanical condition and everything works the
way it should, and I mean everything! Every single light bulb lights up
and every switch
functions properly. Even the tire pressure sensors work the way they
should. The only thing that will need attention is the convertible top will need to be reset. The top always worked fine but after the accident, and the vehicle sitting for a few months in my garage, the top has stopped working. I am told that the computer for the top will need to be recalibrated and then it will work. It has always worked perfectly in the past, so I dont see it being a problem to get that done. This is a common thing to do on these cars. Every other feature in the car is working 100%. The car has 49k
on it, which is very low for a Cadillac, especially one this age. This
car was maintained top notch and has always had its maintanence done.
The oil changes are up to date and Mobil 1 was always used in this
vehicle. This
vehicle spent most of its life in the
garage, so it was never
subjected to a cold or wet climate. So, you know this car was maintaned
the way it should and no expense was spared. This car just had its oil
and tranny fluid serviced, has good brakes, good
rotors, and wiper blades. This Caddy is loaded up with
all the rare
options. It has leather heated seats, power folding convertible top, Heads-up display panel, upgraded BOSE sound system with CD player, Navigation, rear parking sensors, power tilt steering wheel, remote keyless entry, chrome alloy wheels,
real burl wood trimming, memory settings,
automatic rain sensing wipers, fog lamps, power seats, power mirrors,
power locks, automatic power windows, and all the power accessories
that you would expect from a XLR. The car comes with the original Cadillac key with
remote fob. We also have the all the original owners manuals and
booklets. The
exterior of the car looks nice and clean, even though the front needs fixing. The paint is in nice overall condition and the car shows well but will need some of the work done in the front, as mentioned. There are no dents or scratches on the vehicle otherwise. The interior of the car is immaculate. The
seats are
is fantastic condition and show no wear at all. The wood trims and
leather has held up amazingly and it is all intact. The carpets and
other panels are all
in great shape and all the mechanicals and electricals are 100%. Every
single feature in this vehicle is working the way it should. There is
no surprises or dissappointments with this vehicle. Its a cool car all the way and will provide someone with a really great value for
their money. This car is
being sold as-is, where-is, and there is no warranties
expressed or implied. This vehicle has a Rebuilt title from New York. It is YOUR responsibility to find out the laws and
regulations for titling this vehicle in your state. If you
would like to see the car and test drive it, you are more than welcome
to do so. Also, feel free to ask me about the
buy-it-now price. If you are located outside my
local area, I will assist in any way possible in having the car shipped
to you at your cost. A $500 non-refundable deposit must be made within
24 hours on the auctions end. The remaining balance must be paid in
full by 3 days after the closing of the auction unless other
arrangements are discussed with me in advance. With that being said,
feel free to email, call, or text me at anytime if you have any
questions or concerns. Thanks and good luck bidding! |

Lincoln hijacks Cadillac's 'Dare Greatly' tagline
Tue, Feb 24 2015Talk about comedy - not even 24 hours after Cadillac teased its CT6 while inviting us to "Dare Greatly" during the Oscars telecast, Lincoln was doing the same but on Google. An anonymous tipster informed us the day after the Oscars that typing "dare greatly" into Google returned two ads before the search results. When we checked it over the course of a few hours, the first ad was always for Cadillac and either read, "Cadillac - Dare Greatly - Only those who dare drive the world forward," or, "Cadillac - Dare Greatly - It's not the critic who counts, it's the man in the arena." (On a side note, come on, Cadillac - "the man in the arena?" Well. It's a quote. Suppose that's all right, then.) The second result was for Lincoln and read, "Dare Greatly - It's not about making a statement, it's about doing what you love," with the associated URL being www.lincoln.com/dare+greatly. The first time we clicked it, it went to the Lincoln homepage showing the 2015 MKZ Hybrid. The second time, we got a page saying that the Lincoln site wasn't available; the Lincoln site was fine, the link didn't work. There's no reference to the Google joke at the Lincoln site - this was just about getting eyeballs. The English have the perfect phrase for Lincoln's provocation: "You've got some cheek!" We think it cunning, dastardly, and funny, and there's no doubt it worked - they knew people would flock to search the term. One of our competitors, Autotrader, said that within an hour of the first of four Cadillac spots airing during the Oscars, car searches for Cadillac vehicles climbed 53 percent from pre-Academy Award coverage levels. Searches for Cadillac cars were up 120%, they said. If this is Round One of our homegrown scrappy old-timers going at it, we're all for it. Looking back on our favorite cars of Mad Men
Tue, Apr 7 2015The second half of the seventh and final season of Mad Men debuted this week, set to cap a run of public and critical acclaim. A decade's worth of interesting cars also made for good television, if you were paying attention. Vehicles didn't often steal the spotlight from Don, Betty, Roger, Joan and the gang, but they added meaningfully to the tone and beauty of the series. We sorted through the wheeled extras from Mad Men's archives, and choose some of our favorites to highlight. The list consists of cars that had at least a small impact on the plot of an episode, though certainly there are worthy gems hiding in just about every street and driving scene. Check out our subjective top five, and then let us know which of the Mad Men cars would be on your list. 1962 Cadillac Coupe DeVille – Season 2 Don Draper's Cadillac Coupe DeVille, all 500 feet of it, shows up in a few seasons of the show, but it's the first appearance that sets the tone. A Cadillac salesman, cut from the same cloth as Draper, asks what Don drives right now. "A Dodge," Don admits. "Those are wonderful if you want to get somewhere," allows the salesman, "this is for when you've already arrived." For a man on the move up corporate and social ladders that's a powerful message, and a pitch-perfect car. 1961 Lincoln Continental – Season 3 The most stylish Lincoln Continental ever is perfect set dressing for the mod show, of course. Though it's interesting that the car isn't cast as dapper Draper's ride, but rather his father-in-law's. Grandpa Gene does what all great grandfathers are bound to: lets his granddaughter Sally drive the big Lincoln while he works the pedals. Generational bond secured, in fine fashion. When you go back through the first three seasons of the show, you'll notice that Continentals show up more than once, too. There's nothing quite like them to evoke the best of the early '60s. 1963 John Deere 110 – Season 3 The only non-standard passenger vehicle on the list, no self-respecting gearhead/Mad Men fan should quibble with the inclusion of the John Deere 110 riding mower. For starters, the Deere is lovely to look at; a miniature version of the American Heartland icon in its green and yellow duds. The 110 appears as if milled from a solid block of steel, just the opposite of today's sleek, plasticky lawn minders (we're scouring Craigslist for one to bring home). The John Deere also has dear ramifications to the plot, too.
Ghostbusters' new Ecto-1 is an oddly uninspiring '82 Caddy
Fri, Mar 25 2016The Ghostbusters, or at least the movie franchise, will emerge from Hollywood's cobwebs this summer, but instead of the iconic 1959 Cadillac known as Ecto-1 that delighted big screen audiences in 1984, the new model may leave some scratching their heads. That's because this latest Ghostbusters draws its vehicular inspiration from a decidedly less interesting period in American automobile production: the 1980s. Starring alongside Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones is a 1982 Cadillac DeVille hearse. The studio dressed up this tired Caddy to look the part, but something's amiss. Instead of the flamboyant fins and shiny chrome, the '82 is decidedly pedestrian and uninteresting. Even in 1982, it was kind of a dull choice for luxury car buyers. There's a reason Murilee Martin deemed the '70s and '80s the "malaise era." Built a couple of years before the original, Academy Award-winning Ghostbusters hit cinemas, the '82 DeVille represents one of Cadillac's lowest points bar the Cimarron. Under its hood might be Cadilac's new-for-1982 HT 4100 V8 engine, which featured what the brand referred to as "digital" fuel injection. With 135 horsepower and 190 pound-feet of torque, the DeVille didn't win stoplight races back then. Oddly, the V6 engine that came standard in the '82 Sedan DeVille produced the same horsepower but delivered an extra 15 torques, which made it both faster and more fuel efficient than the V8. These were bad times for General Motors, clearly, but the gas engines paled in comparison to Cadillac's first diesel. The company's LF9 5.7-liter diesel V8 was optional on the DeVille and we pity the unlucky buyers who checked that box. Generally credited as the engine that made "diesel" a haunted word in Detroit for 30 years, the 350-cubic-inch unit might actually be fitting for the Ghostbusters. On the bright side, the '82 is new enough that it may have carried a box or two of Hi-C's stellar, Ghostbusters-inspired Ecto Cooler. Maybe the mortician took his kid to Kroger one time, you never know. Fitting in In the original 1984 Ghostbusters, the '59 Caddy was a forlorn and forgotten piece of machinery waiting for a new lease on life. Character Dr. Ray Stantz picks it up and admits in the film that it needs "some suspension work and shocks ...
