Every exceptional car should come with some history; in the case of my wife’s car, it was purchased in AUG. 2008. The Dealer, Armen Cadillac-Hummer, Plymouth Meeting, PA, mileage then 34,324 on the odometer; MILEAGE now 42,646 rust free, always dry and garage kept. It’s been a pampered weekend only vehicle, and has been driven only some 8,000 miles since our purchase; in fact, in the last 2 years it’s been driven less than 3,000 miles since our move in 2011 from the Washington DC area to Louisiana. When I wrote this AD I noticed CARFAX/CARCHEK posted a Minor Accident and lowered our rating so I pulled the AD to find out what had we missed. It turns out, a character off in the VIN of another like vehicle caused a mix up. We contacted the Police Department in which the incident was reported and they quickly resolved the issue and we applaud the Lake Mills, WI PD, specifically the Chief and Records Person for their help and great service. On the other hand, CARFAX/CARCHEK have their own process (wait in line) and we'll get around to it. As such, I posted the Lake Mills, WI PD response for your confidence in buying a accident free vehicle. All PMs have been timely, no failures or major repairs have been required. All instruments/components work and the retractable top is fully functional. The car still has ONSTAR onboard and that may be transferred at the Dealer for a fee. The car comes with all the standard XLR options such as: ABS, AIR, Leather Seats, CD, HID Projection, Back-Up Curb Sensor, Navigation, Power Seats and dozens of more items, just email me if you have any questions. Since we restored and own a 1963 and 1965 Corvette we couldn’t help but add some XLR upgrades. Not wanting to change any comfort or safety feature or make some unfamiliar modification, we stuck to Tire Wheels and Brake upgrades. Most importantly, if she had a flat while riding alone she’d have some piece of mind. To complement our safety concern (no spare onboard standard) and wanting the XLR-V stance and lower profile, we sized up the tires adding 4 Pirelli (Eufori @8) Run Flat tires, P255/40R-19 rear and P235/45-19 front. Adding to the braking Performance, we added Drilled Disc Performance Rotors that greatly improved an already great braking system and upgraded to Performance Ceramic brake pads; also, we added new Cadillac Chrome 19 inch wheels, caps and locking lug nuts. The entire tire, wheel, and brake package has less than 3,000 miles of use and just saved you over $7,500.00. The car has a couple super small rock nicks almost invisible unless you’re inches from the body, but that’s probably standard at this age; I’ll give it a 9.5 out 10 on the Paint; the pics tell the true story. The interior is exceptionally clean, smoke free, smells like new, looks new and feels new. The car rides, sounds like new and drives like it and needs nothing and can be driven anywhere. Why are we selling? Due to the lack of smooth surfaces in our area and different driving requirements; her taste have turned to the acquisition of a SUV. So, if you’re interested in this type of a vehicle, this one provides some of the XLR-V perks but not the price and will be a dependable and pristine car to own. Just turn the key and smile!
The car is being sold AS-IS NO WARRANTY implied or offered. We reserve the right to end the auction early if a sale is completed. Good luck and happy bidding. On Nov-06-13 at 16:20:59 PST, seller added the following information:

No, Cadillac is not killing its flagship CT6 sedan
Sat, Jul 22 2017Mark Twain never actually said that reports of his death had been greatly exaggerated. But if the Cadillac CT6 could talk, those are the exact words it would use. Speaking to Jalopnik, Cadillac chief Johan de Nysschen confirmed, emphatically, "There is absolutely no plan, at all, to cancel the CT6." In fact, says de Nysschen, the CT6 will soon be the beneficiary of significant investment. "The [CT6] forms a very important part of our product strategy going forward for the brand. The car also has a very major contribution to make to the shaping of brand perceptions, and the transformational process that Cadillac is undergoing." For instance, expect the CT6 to spearhead General Motors' most advanced forays into self-driving automobile technology. Interestingly, though, the Cadillac ATS and CTS sedans probably won't live past their current generations as the automaker 're-balances its sedan portfolio.' Replacement models are "in development" right now, says de Nysschen, which will "much more clearly separate the market position, both in terms of target customer demographics, in terms of market segments and in terms of price points between these three sedan lineups." So, that's confirmation that the Cadillac CT6 is going to stick around for a while. But what of other models cited by Reuters to potentially be killed, like the Buick LaCrosse and Chevy Impala and Volt? Read our take on that here, but suffice it to say that we don't think they're in danger, either. Cadillac issues stop sale on ATS to recall 82k units
Wed, Jul 29 2015Cadillac is issuing a recall on 82,620 examples of the 2013-2016 ATS worldwide to fix a compliance issue with the sunroof controls. Until a service bulletin goes out to take care of things, there's also a stop sale on the luxury compact in the United States, The Detroit News reports. Of the affected models, 63,665 are in the US, according to a statement sent to Autoblog, and 7,922 of them are in Canada. The problem is actually the same issue as a recall on nearly 59,000 examples of the 2013-2015 ATS in the US in February. In them, the controls for the tilt and slide of the roof aren't recessed enough to meet government standards for the force necessary to operate the buttons. The Feds believe that someone could accidentally activate the auto-close and potentially be at risk. At the time, Cadillac dealers installed a new trim plate to add the needed clearance. In the latest update, the company is adding the 2016 model year, and according to The Detroit News, 70 percent of the cars from the original campaign also need another new trim plate. Unsurprisingly for such a minor defect, there are no known crashes, injuries, fatalities, or customer complaints related to this issue, according to the announcement by General Motors. Cadillac ATS Statement: General Motors is recalling 63,665 Cadillac ATS sedans in the United States from the 2013-2016 model years because the power-operated roof panel systems on these vehicles will auto-close when the non-recessed portion of the "Slide" or "Tilt" switches are pressed and the roof panel is open. Because these switches are not fully recessed, they can be actuated with less force than required to comply with applicable federal standards. GM knows of no crashes, injuries or fatalities related to this issue and has received no customer complaints. The total population of the recall including Canada, Mexico and exports is 82,620. 2016 Cadillac CT6 First Drive [w/video]
Tue, Jan 26 2016Cadillac moved to New York, renamed its cars and crossovers, and made cutting-edge technology one of its pillars. It's fighting hard to attract new customers and kill its outdated reputation as an old-man car brand in the United States. Change happens slowly, and then sometimes, all at once. Enter the 2016 Cadillac CT6. This is Cadillac's range-topping sedan. It's almost as long as the Mercedes S-Class and BMW 7 Series, yet in some configurations, it's lighter than their smaller siblings, the E-Class and 5 Series. The CT6 is a rolling showcase of General Motors' latest and best technologies, with potential breakthrough features like Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving waiting in the wings. It comes in a wide variety of flavors. The CT6 starts as low as $54,490 with a four-cylinder engine and rear-wheel drive, which is the car that Cadillac hopes will be cross-shopped with the mid-tier Germans. The top-end CT6 Platinum with all-wheel drive and the 404-horsepower V6 begins at $84,460, and it could make S-Class and 7 Series buyers rethink American luxury. Put simply, the CT6 means everything to Cadillac, but it will mean different things to its customers. It can be the executive chauffeur with all the backseat accouterments. Or it can be the massive yet somehow kinda sporty and nimble rear-wheel-drive sedan that weighs only 3,657 pounds. We tried both versions and came away impressed with both the strategy and the execution. It's a little strange to think that Cadillac doesn't offer a V8 in its biggest sedan. Taking the wheel on a sunny, cool day in rural San Diego County, we wonder if a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine has what it takes to really move this giant. Our concerns quickly dissipate – this engine is also under the hood of the Chevy Camaro, and its 265 hp and 295 pound-feet of torque are more than up for the task. The big sedan handles curvy mountain roads adeptly. There's not a lot of roll for a car this size, even when we're aggressively whipping through tight turns. This poise comes from the CT6's rigid, lightweight aluminum and steel structure called Omega. We switch through the driving modes but settle on sport for the dash to the lunch spot. The steering is surprisingly tight and the brakes have strong response with little pedal travel. After a quick bite in an old mining town called Julian, we take off in the spotlight CT6, the Platinum trim, powered by the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6. It's an enjoyable car to stretch out on the highway.
