2004 Cadillac Xlr on 2040-cars
Jonesboro, Georgia, United States
If you have any questions feel free to email me at: mittiemrrados@tenup.com .
This is Our Baby! She has to go as we are seeking an SUV for the daily drives now. We have had this XLR for over 7
years now and it has been a FUN ride! Yes, we have over 160k miles on her ( we put over 70k on it ourselves!) but,
we did replace the engine (all done by the local Cadillac dealer here in Athens Georgia) and just about everything
else!
We have put approx. 13k miles on the car since the new engine was installed - THERE ARE OVER 85000 MILES LEFT ON
THE (transferable) WARRANTY!!!
The following is a partial list of what we did when we replaced the engine in 2014:
New GM Northstar engine (replaced at 150k miles - 3year 100000k warranty that is totally transferable!)
All new servos AND PUMP ($$$$$) for the convertible top
New catalytic converters (both)
New shocks (all four - cost almost as much as the engine - 4K!)
New fuel pump sender
All new bushings
New Water Pump
New Radiator
Much more was done as we were planning on keeping the car at the time.
Whilst under warranty (early on when we first obtained the car) we replaced the steering wheel, radio and seats.
Also of note, we added the lighted windscreen aftermarket option. The windscreen has the etched Cadillac logo on
it and yes, it does light up when the brakes are applied. The windscreen works perfectly and the added light
option makes this car stand out in ANY crowd of higher-end vehicles!
Please note - we have receipts to back up all that was done to SXAPEEL (cars name).
In 2014, we drove the car to California for a year or so and a few of the receipts show a California dealer for
servicing. You will see her photographed on the beach of PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) and next to a static F-4
Phantom (of the world famous VX-4 'Evaluators' Test Squadron) display in California, at Pt Mugu Naval Base, from
2014.

GM outlines strategy for new products, growth in China
Wed, 01 Oct 2014
"Our strategic plan is a pathway to earn customers for life and create significant shareholder value in the process." - Mary Barra
General Motors laid out ambitious plans on Wednesday to become the world's "most valued automotive company," a goal it says it can reach by strengthening its business in China, rebuilding the Cadillac luxury brand and fixing the foundering GM Europe operations.
Weekly Recap: New bosses try to jump-start Cadillac and Lincoln
Sat, 26 Jul 2014
Both of America's domestic luxury brands seem to be stuck in neutral.
It's ironic that Cadillac and Lincoln got new bosses within days of each other this month. It's also a commentary on the fact both of America's domestic luxury brands seem to be stuck in neutral.
Mercedes leads in US luxury car thefts
Wed, 31 Jul 2013Mercedes-Benz makes some fine automobiles. The Silver Arrow'd cars are so good, apparently, that thieves can't help but try to steal them. The German brand is at the top of the charts for luxury car thefts in the US, according to the National Insurance Crime Bureau, with New York City leading the way. (And those New Yorkers complain about Detroit being bad!)
The C-Class was the most stolen model, with 485 ganked between 2009 and 2012 in NYC alone, while the E-Class and S-Class (which also boasted the worst recovery rate, at 59 percent) both finished in the top ten. Following the C-Class was the BMW 3 Series and Infiniti G. Not surprisingly, each of these were the most common models in their respective lineups. Los Angeles and Miami are also prime hotspots for luxury car thefts, according to the Detroit News report.
While getting your car stolen is pretty awful, there was one inspiring statistic compiled by the NICB - the average recovery rate across the board was 84 percent, with the Cadillac CTS getting recovered 91 percent of the time.
