A/C is ice cold. Runs and drives great and everything works as it should. All fluids are in excellent condition and was just serviced. Super clean inside and out. The white paint is in good condition only a couple of small scratches and imperfections. See the pictures. The tan-ish leather Interior is in good condition with less than normal wear for the mileage. It has the optional suede patterned inserts. See pics. Carpet is in excellent condition (see pictures). Driver and passenger seats have less than normal wear for the mileage, back seats are like new. The dash does have a flaw as it is lifted up near the vents, on top, by the windshield slightly. Tires are in great condition, all matching, even wear, with around 85% left, Brakes are solid, Wheels have only very minor scuffing. Engine is spotless, no leaks. Jeff Gordon will come out of retirement to race new Cadillac endurance racecar
Thu, Dec 1 2016Jeff Gordon is not a man who takes well to retirement, apparently. That's not a surprise at all, given that we've been talking about his return to racing since almost the minute he retired in the first place. This year, he's taken the wheel for Dale Earnhardt, Jr., who is recovering from a concussion, several times already. So we shouldn't be too surprised to find out he's officially coming out of retirement – the twist is that it won't be in a stock car. Gordon has signed onto Wayne Taylor Racing, Motorsport.com reports, and he'll join Ricky and Jordan Taylor as well as Max Angelelli. Their ride will be the newly-revealed Cadillac DPi-V.R racer, a Dallara-chassis car powered by a 6.2-liter pushrod V8 loosely related, Cadillac claims, to the engine in the current CTS-V. You can read all about the DPi-V.R right over here. Remember, Gordon has a total of 93 NASCAR wins to his name, as well as four titles. He knows his way around Daytona pretty well, too, having won the 500 three times. He's also dabbled in endurance racing once before, in the 2007 24 Hours of Daytona with Taylor, Angelelli and Jan Magnussen in a WTR Riley-Pontiac car. They ended up on the podium, so you can say Gordon's inaugural and only outing in endurance racing so far was a success. It's been a decade, so we'll see if he's rusty, although knowing about how competitive champions are, we think he'll blow out the cobwebs and get right down to work. Cadillac drops the base engine in the 2017 ATS
Tue, Jun 28 2016Cadillac, in an effort to boost sales of the slow moving ATS, is making some changes to the 2017 model. Most notably, the luxury manufacturer is dropping the base 2.5-liter normally-aspirated four-cylinder engine from the lineup, leaving the 272 hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four as the base engine. The base 2.0-liter ATS will start at $35,590, $1,380 more than the 2016 model, though that's partially offset by more standard equipment. The base model now comes standard with Cadillac's controversial CUE infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen display, a Bose surround-sound speaker system, and a backup camera. Despite the bump in price for the base model, all other ATS trim levels will see prices reduced between $650 and $1,100, depending on the model. The ATS was designed to be Cadillac's answer to the BMW 3-Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. Though the ATS was originally released at a time where the Germans were slightly off their game, it's never quite matched up in terms of performance or customer perception posting disappointing sales figures compared to the competition. Cadillac has had problems getting customers into cars, and few ATS customers are converts from luxury competition. In order to offload inventory and lure in new customers, the company has previously been forced to offer big lease deals. Many of these customers have come over from more mainstream brands like Chevrolet and Ford. ATS sales have fallen 23 percent through May versus 2015. The car's market share has fallen every year since 2013, currently occupying just 4.5 percent of the compact luxury market. Models like the Audi A3 and Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class may be tailor-made to introduce buyers to the premium segment, but a new study finds that they don't garner the highest rates of non-luxury customer conquests. It turns out that a Volvo leads among folks moving up to a premium brand, and it isn't even one that's made anymore, at that.
A recent study by Polk and IHS Automotive looked at what models had the highest rates of buyers upgrading from a non-luxury segment. The information comes from its new vehicle registration data through April 2014. All ten top models boasted conquest rates of over 50 percent, but the Volvo C70 led the field with 68.01 percent of its customers coming from non-premium brands.
