2004 Cadillac Seville Sls Sedan 4-door 4.6l on 2040-cars
North Tonawanda, New York, United States
Offered for auction is my 2004 Cadillac Seville SLS with 64,880 original miles. I am a car collector belonging to several antique car clubs, so all my cars, every day or collector, receive routine maintenance. Right now I have too many every day cars so the SLS is for sale. The 2004 SLS is black exterior with a gray leather interior which is in excellent, very clean condition. I have two sets of floor mats with the car. The original factory set is used during late spring, summer, and early fall which are then removed, cleaned and stored for winter months. A second set of after market mats are used during winter months. 2004 is the last production year for the SLS with a factory price of $46,620.00. Both sets of keys and owners manual come with the car. Some of the options on the car are as follows:
275 HP 4.6 Liter DOHC 32 valve V-8. Four speed electronic automatic transmission. Front wheel drive. 16 x 7 inch Chrome wheels. Four wheel independent suspension, self leveling suspension. Ventilated front disc/solid rear disc ABS brakes. Stability control. Front side-mounted air bags. Traction control system. daytime running lights, dusk sensing headlights. Rain sensing wipers. Ten(10) way power leather front bucket seats and much more. Ice cold A/C with automatic climate control system. AM/FM sound system with in dash CD player. Six (6) disc changer in arm rest, but it is problematic.Cruise control. Programmable tilt, telescopic steering wheel and seats. Approximately 8000 miles on Goodyear Eagle tires and brakes. New correct ventilated battery installed December 3rd 2012. A intake manifold gasket coolant leak was discovered in June 2013. Engine was removed, disassembled and all engine gaskets were replaced with new water pump and spark plugs @ 61,449 miles. All this work was completed by a certified master Cadillac mechanic. Cooling system was thoroughly flushed and serviced with new coolant. Transmission received routine service @ 56,204 miles. I am NOT a dealer, but I have tried to provide an accurate description of the condition of the car. It drives like new. I believe in a scheduled routine maintenance program on all my cars and correct repair when necessary. New York State Inspection was completed in September 2013 & oil, oil filter was changed on September 15th 2013. It does not use oil between changes. There are no leaks, coolant, oil or A/C. Winning bidder is responsible for transportation of vehicle. A $500.00 non-refundable deposit within 48 hours is required to Pay Pal by winning bidder. Balance to be paid within 10 calendar days close of auction either in cash, certified bank check, or wire transfer. Vehicle will not be released until check(s) clear bank and funds are available. I reserve the right to end the auction early as vehicle is for sale locally. My reserve is lower than current values. I will not answer questions concerning my reserve, so do not ask. Other questions concerning the vehicle can be made to (716) 694-9830 or my cell (716) 930-9622. May consider trade, up or down, on a 1953 Packard Patrician. The vehicle has a clear title. |

Junkyard Gem: 1997 Cadillac Catera
Sun, Jun 16 2024GM's Cadillac Division was having a tough time in the early 1990s, with an onslaught of Lexuses and Infinitis pouring across the Pacific to steal their younger customers while high-end German manufacturers picked off their older customers. Flying an S-Class-priced model between assembly lines in Turin and Hamtramck hadn't worked out, so why not look to the European outposts of the far-flung GM Empire for the next Cadillac? That's how the Catera was born, and I have found a rare first-year example in a North Carolina car graveyard. Across the Atlantic, GM's Opel and Vauxhall were doing good business with prosperous European car buyers by selling them the sleek rear-wheel-drive Omega B (whose platform also lived beneath the Holden VT Commodore in Australia). Here was a genuine German design that competed with success against BMW and Audi on their home turf! So, the Omega B was Americanized and renamed the Catera. Opel wasn't a completely unknown brand to Americans at the time, since its cars were sold here with their own badging through Buick dealerships from the middle 1950s through the late 1970s (for a much shorter period, American Pontiac dealers attempted to sell Vauxhalls). Even after that, plenty of Opel DNA showed up in the products of U.S.-market GM divisions. The Catera was by far the most affordable Cadillac for 1997, with an MSRP starting at $29,995 (about $59,113 in 2024 dollars). Being a genuine German car, it looked much more convincingly European than the DeVille ($36,995), Eldorado ($37,995) and Seville ($39,995). Inspired by the ducks on the Cadillac emblem (they were really supposed to be martlets, mythical birds with no feet and occasionally lacking beaks), Cadillac's marketers went after youthful car shoppers with a whimsical animated duck named Ziggy. For the 21st century, the birds were removed from the Cadillac emblem in order to attract California buyers under 45 years of age. As we all know, the Catera flopped hard in the marketplace. What sold well in Europe turned out not to translate so well in in North America, especially when bearing the badges of such a historically prestigious brand. The Catera's engine was a 54-degree 3.0-liter V6 rated at 200 horsepower and 192 pound-feet. Just as had been the case with its predecessor, the Allante, no manual transmission was available.
Akerson says Cadillac will get a larger sedan within two years
Mon, 22 Jul 2013It seems that during a recent affair showing off the 2014 Cadillac CTS, General Motors CEO Dan Akerson confirmed reports regarding a new Cadillac flagship sedan. According to USA Today, which Akerson was visiting, he said that a sedan larger than the XTS would debut within the next two years.
This matches up with what we heard earlier in the month about a Cadillac model that will go up against the BMW 7 Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class (not a pricier, low-volume sedan also discussed in that article). But this is the first time a high-profile executive name has been attributed to such a report, and the first time a broad timeframe has been mentioned. This article adds that the unnamed car will be rear-, and all-wheel drive with a platform "loosely based" on the new CTS, with styling closer to that car than recent Cadillac concept vehicles. The XTS will continue production of course, as well.
