2001 Cadillac Seville Sts Sedan 4-door 4.6l on 2040-cars
Indianapolis, Indiana, United States
2001 Cadillac Seville STS good Michelin tires, interior great very well maintained.
My sister bought this car brand new off the showroom floor in 2001. She babysits kids for a living, so this car was parked in the garage for most of its life. The paint is in great condition as is the entire car. No rips or tears in the seats and the over all interior is in great shape as well. She bought a new car a few years ago and I bought this car off of her. Since I have had it I have kept it very well maintained. The reason I am selling it is I bought my dad's Cadillac and don't need two cars right now. This car was over $55,000 new, I think it has about all the options that were available. It has a sunroof that works great and has never leaked or anything. I have all the receipts and records for all the maintenance performed, I have taken some pictures of some of them and will include all the originals to the new owner. The check engine light is on and it idles a little rough but as soon as you start moving, it runs great. It runs perfect on the interstate, it is just when you are idling. It runs great in town, doesn't die or anything just wanted to give full disclosure. The heated seat for the driver doesn't work and the trunk release just stopped working my friend says it is probably a fuse but I am not sure. The windshield washers don't spray fluid, the windshield wipers work great. The transmission shifts smooth, never had to do anything at all to that. Air conditioning is cold, the auto climate control works great. New brakes and rotors in front about a year ago. Here is a list of the repairs I have done to it since I have owned it...the only thing my sister ever did to it is replace the battery and the tires, it was a very good car for her. I had a complete tune up, with spark plugs and new coil packs, that cost was over $1000 and that was just a few months ago. I replaces 2 wheel bearings in the front and put a new water pump on it and flushed the radiator recently as well. I replaced the tire pressure monitoring system. I have always used synthetic oil in it, always changed it myself. It looks like a new one, the wheels look brand new, not scratched or peeling or anything. There is a very small door ding, dent on the passenger side door, it doesn't look very noticeable. |

Cadillac rushing update for laggy CUE infotainment system
Tue, 05 Feb 2013BMW's innovative iDrive was introduced in 2001, and a dozen years later, automakers are still learning hard lessons about what consumers want in their infotainment systems. In response to owner feedback - and a few media drubbings - about the delayed and occasionally fickle responses of its CUE (short for Cadillac User Experience) system, Cadillac has told Wired that it's going to issue an update this year.
Coming for the XTS and ATS, the new software will mean quicker haptic feedback to driver inputs on the touchscreen and the buttons, and snappier responses on screen. Down the road, Cadillac's VP of marketing says that a different mix of screen controls and hard buttons is "something you'll be seeing in the future" - the system is presently a mix of touchscreen-based controls and capacitive-touch switchgear - there are no knobs or physical pushbuttons to speak of, and the omission of both has proven to be a divisive issue among consumers and industry pundits.
Cadillac hasn't provided a date for when the CUE update will be issued, but it has indicated that the service will be performed by dealers, not sent wirelessly.
Cadillac confirms CT8/CT9 flagship, ELR successor
Fri, 10 Oct 2014Cadillac has certainly been a hot topic as of late, what with Johan de Nysschen now running the joint, moving its headquarters to New York, and overhauling the company's naming structure (only to later publicly defend all of these drastic decisions). Now, looking ahead, de Nysschen is already revealing some details about what's in store for the future, including a raft of new products that include a large, long-wheelbase Mercedes-Benz S-Class rival positioned above the recently announced CT6, along with a successor to the slow-selling ELR coupe.
In an interview with Reuters, de Nysschen says his company has "just signed off on" a new flagship tipped to be called CT8 or CT9. It will compete with the long-wheelbase versions of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 7 Series, and should come to market by the end of this decade.
Among other news, the South African executive said a followup to the ELR plug-in hybrid is in development, though it may not be a two-door coupe like the current car. That's not necessarily a bad thing, since the ELR has garnered nothing but slow sales and poor reviews since its launch.
Tesla leads and Infiniti bleeds in Consumer Reports' satisfaction survey
Mon, Feb 8 2021According to Consumer Reports, Tesla owners are more likely to rave about their vehicles than any other brand. And we're not surprised — Tesla has performed very well in past customer satisfaction surveys, despite the fact that the electric cars themselves tend to have more problems than most other automobiles. Second place went to Lincoln, which interestingly had a higher cumulative score than Tesla in individual category measurements like comfort and storage space. Ram, a truck-only brand, rounded out the top three. The consumer-focused magazine bases its owner satisfaction score on responses to a very simple question: Would you buy this exact car again? The higher percentage of owners who answer "definitely yes" to that question, the higher the satisfaction score. Further breakdowns are scored for other parts of the ownership experience, which is why brands that rank poorly in Consumer Reports' own reliability charts — like Tesla and Lincoln, for example — can still earn top marks for satisfaction. The lowest-ranked brands for satisfaction are Cadillac, Nissan and Infiniti. Interestingly, Cadillac performed better than average in Driving and Comfort and middle-of-the-road in the In-Car Electronics and Cabin Storage, but like most other brands, scored poorly in Value. In fact, only Subaru, Mazda and Volkswagen scored better than average in Value. Nissan and especially Infiniti earned comparatively low marks across the board to go along with the bottom-of-the-barrel satisfaction score. Here's the full list of automakers from Consumer Reports' satisfaction survey, ranked in order from best to worst: Tesla Lincoln Ram Chrysler Subaru Hyundai Porsche Dodge Mazda Toyota Kia Mini BMW Ford Audi Honda Volvo Volkswagen Lexus Jeep GMC Chevrolet Mercedes-Benz Buick Cadillac Nissan Infiniti It's worth diving into the individual category scores in addition to the official finishing order for a full look at the results. For instance, despite the fact that automakers like Lincoln and Ford use similar infotainment systems, their In-Car Electronics scores don't quite match up. Also, some automakers have full lineups with multiple cars, trucks and SUVs while others offer just a couple of nameplates. Head on over to Consumer Reports for all the details.
