this was a garage kept car, purchased in 2001 with 35,000 miles from estate of original owner in new york state. this caddy was ready for car shows and cruises,  the paint although had slight signs of patina / wear,  theres even a paper in the glove compartment from 1983ish saying they were having waranty problems with th epaint on the 80 81 82 cadillacs etc,  but i suppost it was never taken care of !  anyway in 2007 it was running poor and dropped off at a local garage where they couldnt fix the problem, but it sat there baking in the sun for almost a year, the paint just got worse and worse, in 2012 it came out of the garage and of course the paint just wipes off the car with your hand.....   the car now runs and drives perfect !! it needed a new computer so i bought a $500 gm computer and had it instaled,  i had 2 brand new old stock gm fuel injectors installed, i had a few sensors replaced to. also plugs and wires.  this car is in EXCELLENT mechanical condition,    an exterior paint job is needed and its ready for the car shows once again.... 1980 is the first year of the slant back /bustleback model and in my opinion simply the best year to own with the 368 cubic inch 6.0 liter engine....  i have a complete service record from back then to now,  most of the work was perfromed fall 2012 so all RECENT repairs.... im a vintage car collector and had to have an 80 for my collection  but medical bills force me to sell off a few of the projects.....   i cant stress enough how perfect the chrome and interior is !!! the exterior paint is the ONLY thing holding this car back !    it was going for paint this past spring but family health issues suspended that idea.....  its  antique title and tag in pa and was driven a few times a week within the past 8 months.   seats are perfect, headliner is perfect, floor mats are original and perfect, carpet is perfect. the air conditioning was ice cold r-12 BUT when changing the alternator the mechanic leaned on a air condt line and the freon came out, that line will need be replaced and ac rechaged

i would drive this car anywhere !   i put new belts, radiator, alternator, water pump, tires, fuel injectors, computer, heater valve, heater control computer, and alot more !!! ill be happy with 1/4 of the funds of  what i have in the car.

NEEDS PAINT JOB !

im listing this cadillac for my dear friend,  selling it to cover medical bills from the very recent passing of his wife due to cancer. you can call him directly at five seven zero two six two nine eight seven one...thank you for the consideration and feel free to place a bid,  the high bidder will own this cadillac

Best and Worst GM Cars

Thu, Apr 7 2022

Oh yes, because we just love receiving angry letters from devoted Pontiac Grand Am enthusiasts, we have decided to go there. Based on a heated group Slack conversation, the topic came up about the best and worst GM cars. First of all time, and then those currently on sale, and then just mostly a rambling discussion of Oldsmobiles our parents and grandparents owned (or engineered). Eventually, three of us made the video above. Like it? Maybe we can make more. Many awesome GM cars are definitely going unmentioned here, so please let us know your bests and worsts in the comments below. Mostly, it's important to note that this post largely exists as a vehicle for delivering the above video that dives far deeper into GM's greatest hits and biggest flops, specifically those from the 1980s and 1990s. What you'll find below is a collection of our editors identifying a best current and best-of-all-time choice, plus a worst current and worst-of-all-time choice. Comprehensive it is not, but again, comments. -Senior Editor James Riswick Best Current GM Vehicle Chevrolet Corvette We were flying by the seats of our pants a bit in this first outing and my notes were similarly extemporaneous. When it came time to tie it all together on camera, I failed spectacularly. Thank the maker for text, because this gives me the opportunity to perhaps slightly better explain my convoluted reasoning. I chose the C8 Corvette because it's simply overwhelmingly good, and it's merely the baseline from which this generation of Corvette will be expanded.  While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (more on that in a minute) is an amazing snapshot of GM's current performance standing and its little sibling so enraptured me that I went out and bought one, their existence is fleeting. Corvette will live on; forced-induction Cadillac sport sedans, not so much. So while all three are amazing machines when viewed in a vacuum, the Corvette stands above them as both a reflection of GM's current performance credentials and a signpost of what is to come. So, given the choice between the C8 and the 5V-Blackwing right now, I'd choose the C8. In 10 years, when the Blackwing is no longer in production and Corvette is in its 9th generation? Well, that might be a different story. Now, just pretend I said something even remotely that coherent when we get to the part of the video where I try to make an argument for the 5-V Blackwing as best GM car I've ever driven. Or just laugh at me while I ramble incoherently.

GM outlines strategy for new products, growth in China

Wed, 01 Oct 2014

"Our strategic plan is a pathway to earn customers for life and create significant shareholder value in the process." - Mary Barra
General Motors laid out ambitious plans on Wednesday to become the world's "most valued automotive company," a goal it says it can reach by strengthening its business in China, rebuilding the Cadillac luxury brand and fixing the foundering GM Europe operations.

General Motors Recall List

Wed, Oct 22 2014

It seems General Motors can't go more than a few weeks without issuing a major recall. Since the initial ignition lock recall on February 10, over 25 million vehicles have been recalled for defects. It seems General Motors can't go more than a few weeks without issuing a major recall. Since the initial ignition lock recall on February 10, over 25 million vehicles have been recalled for defects. We used the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recall list to compile a snapshot of all the GM vehicles recalled in the last two months. NHTSA also provides a search engine that allows owners to search for recalls on their vehicle. An automotive company must do everything in their power to notify its customers when a recall is issued on a vehicle. If you own any of the following vehicles and you have questions regarding your car, you can contact Chevrolet at 1-866-694-6546, GMC at 1-866-996-9463, Buick at 1-800-521-7300 and Cadillac at 1-866-982-2339. Or check out General Motor's recall site. Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or go to www.safercar.gov. Here's a brief summery of the other vehicles currently under recall: July 26 – 414,333 cars affected NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V447000 Models under recall: Certain model year 2011-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal and Chevrolet Camaro, as well as certain 2010-2012 Cadillac SRX, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain vehicles, equipped with power height adjustable driver and passenger seats. Problem: In the affected vehicles, the bolt that secures the driver's and passenger's power front seat height adjuster may fall out causing the seat to drop suddenly to the lowest vertical position. Consequence: If the driver's seat unexpectedly drops, the distraction and altered seat position may affect the drivers' control of the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. Solution: Dealers will replace the height adjuster shoulder bolts, free of charge. July 14 – 16,939 cars affected NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V341000 Models under recall: Certain model year 2011 Cadillac CTS vehicles manufactured October 18, 2010, to June 2, 2011. Problem: In the affected vehicles, vibrations from the drive shaft may cause the vehicle's roll over sensor to command the roof rail air bags to deploy. Consequence: If the roof rail air bags deploy unexpectedly, there is an increased risk of crash and injury to the occupants.
