This is my engineering friend's gorgeous and impeccably maintained 2007 Cadillac STS, with an 8 cylinder AWD engine and transmission that purrs, and an exterior and interior that looks brand new. My friend's job is relocating as he is a defense contractor working on highly detailed aircraft systems in Florida , and will be provided a brand new company car at his arrival next month and will not be in need of this gorgeous Cadillac. Suffice to say, this Cadillac has been maintained by the local dealer for over 2 years, and has been under warranty since the inception of my friends' ownership. He has had other Cadillac's purchased there and the staff at the dealership has given him great service and has taken exceptional pride in keeping him satisfied with this 2007 Cadillac. The car has had every service at every recommended interval when required at the dealership and had numerous repairs done under the GMPP warranty program through the dealership. The engine and transmission were overhauled at less than 12 thousand miles ago, and every feature accessory, and operating point of the vehicle has been thoroughly tested reviewed and in fact exceeds all performance specifications as manufactured. All documentation of all service done to the vehicle including the engine and transmission overhaul will be included with the sale of the vehicle. Cadillac XTS to become Opel flagship sedan?
Tue, 24 Jul 2012According to Auto-News.de, Opel is considering using Cadillac's all-new big sedan, the XTS, as the base for its new flagship car, which would likely carry the name Omega.
WorldCarFans.com speculates that Opel could use GM's 3.6-liter direct-injection V6 that generates 304 horsepower or, possibly, a 2.8-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine that creates 321 horsepower to power the vehicle. The European automaker could even use a 195-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine in this application - fine, since many of Europe's largest sedans are powered by smaller, more efficient engines.
Regardless of power, the Omega could arrive at dealerships by the end of 2013.
Seinfeld and Don Rickles stretch out in classic Caddy for latest CiCGC
Thu, 04 Jul 2013It's no surprise that for the newest episode of Jerry Seinfeld's Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, airing for the first time on the 4th of July, that a couple of American classics are involved. You'll Never Play the Copa unites Seinfeld with legendary curmudgeon Don Rickles, driving around in a stunner of a 1958 Cadillac Eldorado Seville in Gleneagles Green (upholstery wrapped in Grandma-spec plastic, of course).
Mr. Rickles really steals the show in this one - maybe our favorite CiCGC to date - though the Eldorado plays a strong-jawed costarring role, for sure. Stories about Ronald Regan, Frank Sinatra, Billy Graham and, of course, Herkie Styles are more than worth the price of admission. Check it out below.
Cadillac sales chief fired over policy violation
Sun, 21 Jul 2013Amidst a good year for Cadillac, which is experiencing higher sales gains than any other US brand this year, the US sales chief has been fired over a policy violation, Automotive News reports.
The sales chief, Chase Hawkins, "has left effective immediately," GM spokesman David Caldwell told Automotive News. Caldwell went on to say that Hawkins' replacement would be chosen soon.
Hawkins became the US sales chief in June 2012, and before that was the regional sales director for Cadillac in the Northeast US, overseeing 168 dealerships.
