2006 Cadillac Sts Base Sedan 4-door 3.6l on 2040-cars
Bloomington, Indiana, United States
Up for sale is my 2006 Cadillac STS 3.6 V6 AWD with 203,517 miles. I bought this car from Don Gooley Cadillac in the Detroit metro area on January 27, 2014 and the next day the entire transmission went out. I took it to a shop nearby and they said that the transmission fluid is black and it is going to need a new transmission. I simply cannot afford to fix the car so I have no choice but to sell it. There is a check engine light on for a "misfire in two cylinders" and "oil pressure sensor circuit". Also, the "service airbag" light is on. Now when I bought the car I was thinking the misfiring was the reason for the car jerking and shuddering, but it turns out it was the transmission causing that. The engine idles very smoothly and has an occasional small misfire, definitely nothing severe and probably just needs some spark plugs or a coil pack. Everything else seems to be in great shape mechanically. I drove the car back from Detroit, MI to Bloomington, IN and the steering was tight, the ride was solid, brakes were great, and the tires are nearly brand new - Michelin Energy Saving, I believe. I do not see any fluids leaking from underneath, but I cannot be sure, I am only telling you what I see. The engine starts right up and all features work properly. Cosmetically the car couldn't be better, the car looks brand new inside. Leather seats are in mint condition - no tears. On the outside the car is filthy from the snow and unfortunately I cannot wash it since I cannot move it, but I assure the paint has no blemishes and shines like new. I couldn't even find a single door ding or scratch. Now the features list goes on and on. Six airbags, the 15 speaker Bose sound system is superb and there is iPod integration (Aux port). The car has factory remote start, but that will only work once the check engine light goes off. Inside the car it is push button start. The navigation system sometimes says "DVD map read error" - I don't know why, but after it says that it will just go back to the map. It seems that error prevents you from getting directions, but you can still see the regular map It has a smart key meaning that the car automatically unlocks when you approach it and automatically locks when you leave it. It has rear climate control as well as rear heated seats. Rain sensing wipers, OnStar, satellite radio, backup sensors. Onboard Vehicle monitoring system with oil life monitor, tire pressure monitoring system, fuel range, average fuel economy, average speed, digital speedometer, fuel gallons used, time elapsed, and battery voltage. 1SC Luxury Performance Package V6 - $8,285 Memorized adjustment with two settings on door mirror position and steering wheel position with five driver's seat positions; Windshield wipers with automatic intermittent wipe and rain sensor; Glass electric tilting sliding front sunroof with sunshade and one-touch opening; Disc autochanger dashboard and 6; Navigational systems : information type: full map and voice and touch screen controls DVD; Display screen front; DVD/VCD; Bose RDS audio system with satellite, Disc Autochanger and six-disc remote changer; Smart card / smart key includes memory seat adjustments, includes radio settings and includes memory steering wheel position; Heated driver and passenger ventilated seat with lumbar adjustment and five adjustments; Luxury trim wood/woodgrain on center floor console, wood & leather on doors and wood/woodgrain on dashboard; Wood & leather heated steering wheel; Cargo safety net; Coming home device; Garage door opener; Rear limited slip differential; Trunk/hatch spoiler; Low tire pressure indicator; Excludes: [1SB] 1SB Luxury Package V6 And [CF5] Express Open/Close Sunroof And [YQ4] Bose 5.1 In-Dash 6 Disc DVD Navigation
I have been completely honest and upfront about the car to the best of my knowledge, and understand the car is being sold AS IS, no returns, no warranty, and will have to be towed. The buyer is responsible for all shipping charges. Please do not hesitate to ask me any questions you may have or additional pictures. You are welcome to come see the car and bring a mechanic if you're in the area. My phone number is 813.695.3393 Thanks, Michael |

Weekly Recap: Lincoln Continental serves up the style, Cadillac CT6 delivers the substance in New York
Sat, Apr 4 2015Lincoln and Cadillac grabbed the spotlight this week at the New York Auto Show in a dramatic fashion that evoked the brands' glory days. America's two luxury carmakers went toe-to-toe with their glittering reveals and plans for ambitious expansion. Both were selling their technology, style and the promise of a better future. Cadillac vs. Lincoln. At the Javits Center, 2015 seemed a lot like 1956. Neither company was interested in drawing comparisons with the other, which is fair, and accurate. They're in vastly different places in terms of sales and the pace of their turnarounds, but they hope to reach the same eventual destination at the pinnacle of the luxury-car world. Lincoln used the element of surprise to great effect with the Continental concept. A production version is still at least a year away, and the company was vague on details. Officially, we don't even know if it is front- or rear-wheel drive, though speculation abounds. Who cares? The seats can be adjusted 30 ways! The Continental also showed off a bold chrome grille that will be the new face of Lincoln. The blue bomber also rolled on blinged-out 21-inch polished aluminum wheels, used a 3.0-liter EcoBoost engine and had huge LED head lights with "laser-assisted" high beams. All of this resulted in almost blinding attention. The concept drew rave reviews, stirred controversy with Bentley designers who argued Lincoln ripped them off, and most importantly, pointed a way forward for the newly determined brand that hopes to compete with Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Cadillac and Lexus. View 32 Photos Meanwhile, Cadillac showed the CT6, a finished product that will top its range and is loaded with the best and latest technologies General Motors has at its disposal. With production starting late this year, Cadillac had more specifics at the ready. Engines? Cadillac has a couple V6s and a turbo four for sure. It's working on a hybrid, and has considered a V-Series variant. It's based on a new rear-wheel-drive, aluminum-intensive chassis called Omega, features an advanced collision-mitigation system with automatic braking and has a cabin that's laden with "leathers, exotic woods and carbon fiber." It will be assembled at GM's Detroit-Hamtramck factory and goes on sale next year. At this point, Cadillac is more than willing to talk about every except for the price. The devil was not in the details for Cadillac, as evidenced by the CT6. But it wasn't for Lincoln either.

Don Draper's 1965 Cadillac Coupe de Ville up for auction
Mon, Aug 3 2015Few have ever nor ever will embody the sheer confidence and style of Don Draper, the main character on the hit AMC drama Mad Men. But if you can't quite match his style, at least you can drive his car. Now that the series has now concluded its eight-year run, the studio behind it is selling off a whole mess of artifacts from the show through ScreenBid, a specialist Hollywood memorabilia auctioneer. There's a good 1,300 lots up for grabs, from props to costumes. But the lot that's caught our attention is this 1965 Cadillac Coupe de Ville. Don picked this car up in the fifth season and drove it until the penultimate episode. These are the wheels he (spoiler alert!) drove across the country, got repaired in Oklahoma, and ultimately gave to a kid working at the motel before making his way by bus to the Bonneville Salt Flats in the final episode. At the time of writing, bidding had reached $25,000 with four days still to go. Cadillac first used the de Ville as a trim level on the Series 62 before spinning it off into its own model line. 1965 was the first year of the third-generation de Ville, stretching a massive 224 inches (over 18 and a half feet!) long. Powering over 4,600 pounds of personal American luxury was an equally massive 7.0-liter V8 that drove 340 horsepower through a three-speed automatic transmission. The name wasn't retired until 2005 when the final DeVille (as it was styled by then) was replaced by the DTS, which itself was shorthand for DeVille Touring Sedan. Cadillac produced the last DTS in 2011, finally putting to rest a name that had, in one form or another, been used since 1949. Few cars had the kind of presence that the third-gen Coupe de Ville did, though, and Draper knew it. Or at least the show's producers did.
