This car is being relisted because the winning bidder was Non-Responsive and Non-Paying. Please, serious bidders only. I am the original
owner of this 1986 Mustang GT Convertible with 44,775. The car has been stored in a heated
garage every winter since 1986, and stored many summers , too! It has never
seen snow and has NO rust. Almost everything on the car is
original. The exceptions are listed
below. The car runs
great. It is equipped with AC, PS, PB, PW, Power Top, 5-speed, cruise
control, and remote trunk and gas release. Everything works with the exception
of the AC. That is a recent issue that I
have not looked into yet. It has the original AM/FM Cassette Radio,
which works, but is pretty fuzzy. The paint and body
on this GT are almost all original and nice. One rear fender(passenger
side), and the front fascia were repainted in 1990 because of dings. There
are a few other blemishes and normal signs of wear on a car of this age. The car is not perfect, but it is solid with
no rust, and has been well loved and taken care of. The convertible top
will need to be replaced. It is in fair
to good shape and the car can be driven just like it is, but it is starting to
rip and pull away. New tops are
available for several hundred dollars plus installation costs. The boot is in great shape. The interior of the
car is in very good shape. Some issues
are: the elastic on the pockets on the doors is stretched out, the rubber seals
on the windows are dry and cracked, and some of the plastic tips on the
heat/cool levers on the dash are cracked and broken. The Mustang has
several non-original additions. The
stick shift handle is from a turbo Mustang.
I do not have the original handle.
The tail lights are from an SVO mustang.
They are the same as the original tail lights with the exception of the
black horizontal lines. I do not have the
original tail lights. The wheels on the
car are from a 1988 Mustang. I do have the original 10-hole wheels and
will include them with the car. What a fun car to drive! This is a very
solid original car from the original owner.
I have included a picture of the window sticker that came on the car. Payable by cash,
Cashier's check, or Bank Transfer. Sold as is with no warranties(written, oral, or implied). Car will be released upon receipt
of cash, or verification that the money has been transferred. Car
can be picked up in Northville, Michigan, or buyer may arrange shipment at
their expense. |

Cadillac to move select offices from Detroit to Manhattan?
Fri, 22 Aug 2014Under Johan de Nysschen, Infiniti moved its headquarters from Yokohama, Japan, to Hong Kong. Now at Cadillac, it appears the company's new president could be planning a relocation of at least some of the brand's operations from Detroit to Manhattan, according to a new report from Reuters.
In the case of Infiniti, de Nysschen pushed for the move because moving away from the brand's Nissan overlords would allow it a bit more freedom. It's evidently a similar case for Cadillac, with Reuters speculating that such a move would help distance the brand from the corporate culture in Detroit. A Big Apple move could also attract new talent that may have considered a job with the brand but were put off by the idea of living in Detroit.
It's important to note that if such a move takes place, it likely won't affect the folks actually responsible for developing the brand's vehicles. Instead, administrative functions, including marketing, could be the focus of the relocation.
Cadillac abandons plans for six-digit flagship sedan
Mon, 01 Jul 2013So much for that party. Cadillac has announced that it is walking away from plans to build a high-dollar, rear-wheel-drive ultraluxury sedan. The low-volume model would have been based on the lusty Ciel Concept, and the production iteration would have carried a price tag well over $100,000. Executives with the automaker reportedly claim the model wouldn't have bolstered the brand enough to be worth the investment.
Even so, Automotive News reports Cadillac is still on track to build a range-topping four-door to go head-to-head with the BMW 7 Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class. That model will likely be constructed on the company's upcoming Omega rear-wheel-drive platform, but we won't see it bow until at least 2016. Right now, the front-wheel-drive XTS sits at the top of the Cadillac lineup, and while that machine and it's twin-turbocharged V6 variant makes a compelling argument against certain luxury entries, it falls short serving as a legitimate competitor for the likes of the 7 Series and S-Class for enthusiast drivers.
Cadillac scraps three-row CUV plans
Fri, 23 May 2014Crossovers are one of the hottest automotive segments on the planet. Apparently, the idea of mixing the practicality of a station wagon with the looks of an SUV appeals to people whether they are in Cleveland or Shanghai because nearly every automaker is jumping into the market. So it was no surprise when early rumors suggested Cadillac was planning two, new CUVs to fit above and below the SRX. But things might have changed since then.
New rumblings indicate Caddy is taking a different route. Instead of two crossovers, only the compact is on the way, and the larger, three-row CUV on the Lambda platform to sit between the SRX and Escalade may be a goner. According to Ward's Auto, General Motors thinks that the other three-row, Lambda vehicles like the Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia compete too closely with the proposed Cadillac. The decision comes fairly close to the 2017 intended production date.
As far back as 2010, this Lambda-platform based CUV was considered highly likely for production. However, Cadillac Senior Vice President Bob Ferguson was somewhat cooler about it when he discussed the new crossover briefly last year. He said the model could use the Escalade name, despite its unibody chassis, but no decision had been made yet to actually produce it.
