One Of Only 314 1998 Cadillac Fleetwoods Ever Built. on 2040-cars
Very rare only 314 1998 Cadillac Fleetwood Limiteds were made. Cadillac had Superior coaches out of Ohio build a limited run of these in 1998 and 1999. These are built on a commercial frame using 6 lug chrome wheels. Vehicle weight is over 5,800 pounds. Basically Superior Limos took a 1998 Deville and stretched in 6". This added more leg room for rear seat passengers. It is a excellent riding car. Engine runs smooth and has less than 95,000 miles. Transmission shifts as it should. Air and heat work. Cosmetically the body is straight with a small dent just behind the front left wheel done by precious owner. Clear coat on paint is peeling all over the trunk. Vinyl top is coming apart. Needs paint and vinyl top. Interior is like new. No tears or blemishes on upholstery. Headliner lose above mirror. It is black on black on black. Absolutely beautiful car before clear coat started peeling. Price considers these flaws. When and if you can find one in top condition they will bring 6 to 7K. Check engine light stays on in cold months off during hot months. Not sure what that's about. Can drive where ever you wish. It is very reliable. Tires have about 10,000 miles on them and have full road hazard warranty with Discount Tires. Alternator and battery new in last 6 months. AC and heat work. Duct system to vents doesn't. Have to slip glove box out and manually mover duct. Car need a lot of TLC which is why priced so low. The 1998 and 1999 Fleetwood Limits are the only Fleetwoods that are front wheel drive. You can't look these cars up on Kelly Bluebook or NADA because of the rarity of them and they where not built by Cadillac. All power windows and seats work.

Confident new Cadillac marketing boss ready to take on Tesla, BMW
Thu, Jun 26 2014When there's a former BMW executive heading Cadillac's efforts to boost sales of its only plug-in, it's a pretty safe guess that the marketing emphasis won't be on environmental friendliness and tree-hugging tendencies. The General Motors luxury brand has appointed ex-Bimmer executive Uwe Ellinghaus to be its marketing chief late last year, and the German-born Ellinghaus is now saying that he's targeting potential customers of Tesla Motors, in addition to BMW, for potential growth in sales of the Cadillac ELR extended-range plug-in. Appointed to Cadillac's head of marketing last November, Ellinghaus recently told Advertising Age that GM needs to highlight the Cadillac's looks and performance. He complimented Tesla for putting more emphasis on those attributes in the Model S than on its lack of emissions or lack of refueling costs (but Tesla hasn't shied away from highlighting the EV's savings). Ellinghaus says that trying to gear advertising "for people who are tree-huggers and green-wash an entire brand" won't be successful. You don't say. So far, the ELR hasn't made much of a dent in US car sales. Through May, Cadillac, which spent about $280 million on all of its US marketing last year, sold 293 units, whereas Tesla had been approaching the 11,000-unit figure for the Model S. With that in mind, Cadillac may be working on a sportier version of the ELR, as spy shots of a test vehicle from May revealed larger brakes and wheels. You can read our First Drive impressions of the ELR here.
Cadillac expects major growth in China
Thu, 25 Sep 2014The US sales issues facing Cadillac are not being paralleled in the People's Republic of China, as a new report from Automotive News indicates the US luxury maker should see its sales increase by as much as 40 percent.
The report cites Cadillac's own forecasts, which put its 2014 sales in the PRC at 70,000 units after cresting 45,000 vehicles at the end of August. Provided the sales pace holds true through 2015, the brand would hit its new 100,000-unit sales goal, AN reports.
"We're very optimistic about the luxury market, we believe that the luxury market by 2016 here will become the largest luxury market in the world, surpassing even the size of luxury in Europe," GM China President Matthew Tsien told AN. "With [Cadillac president] Johan [de Nysschen], we have somebody that really is an executive that understands luxury, but he also is very, very keen on understanding what do we need here in China for Cadillac to be successful."
