Cadillac Castilan Station Wagon.  Number 11 of 12 made in 1976 by Traditional Coach Works of Los Angeles California. 43k original miles and always garaged, no cracks on original dash, steering wheel (nor wood insert) , seats, etc.  Paper work history shows it to always be a dry state car so rust is a not an issue.

These were the only station wagon conversions approved by Cadillac.  They were the only ones that could be ordered ast a Cadillac dealer.  Only.  They were high option Fleetwoods from brand spanking new.  The cost was $30,000 in 1976! Kuwait oil money wanted them and set up a shop in Los Angeles (Trad. Coach Works) for the purpose of export.  Some were sold to Sammy Davis Jr., Evel Knieval, and this one possibly to Bill Harrah.  The estate I purchased the car from lost the paper work but remembered the name not knowing who he was (I thought that funny).  I have service papers dating far back from Reno, San Diego, and Palm Beach.

The interior is 100% original.  The tuxedo grain vinyl top is original.  Traditional Coachworks did a few custom features to the car when new (these cars were all custom ordered.)  The high powered driving lights, chrome valve covers, support braces, and air cleaner in the engine bay were done.  In the inside the painted metal surrounds around the windows were chrome plated instead of factory spray paint to match the interior color.  The three extra buttons low in the driver's side of the dash operate the fifth horn (plus the four factory trumpet horns!), the driving lights, and one is auxiliary.  Custom floor mats protect the carpet with the factory ones on top.  Carpet is as new.

The car starts, idles, and runs without issue.  The transmission shifts smoothly and the car lacks rattles vibrations, or undo wind noise.  This was obviously a quality construction.  Radio, heater, and air conditioning work.   Auto dimming works, twilight sentinel works, power door locks, all power seat functions, and all lights inside and out.

I have been on E Bay for over one decade and have 100% positive feedback.  I encourage an inspection, visual, and drive of this rare Cadillac.  I have other pictures at my website at jimhaileyclassiccars dot com if you care to view.  You may call me at 214 415 7373 if you prefer.  This Castilan can be seen in Santa Fe New Mexico with an appointment.  Thanks!

1975 Brochure pictures of Cadillac's offered by Traditional Coach Works.  To the best of my knowledge they were only produced in 1975 and 1976.  12 were made in 1976 and I believe 15 or so were made in 1975.  If anyone has more information please let me know.

Cadillac previews upcoming new XT5 crossover [UPDATE]

Thu, Sep 10 2015

UPDATE: Cadillac has released another three images, which we've added to the gallery above. Cadillac is gearing up to unveil its new XT5 crossover at the Dubai Motor Show in November. We've already seen what it'll look like - from a couple of angles, anyway - but the all-American luxury automaker has given us another taste of what's to come with a quartet of images released on its official Facebook page. Set to replace the SRX that's now six years old, the all-new XT5 adopts the new design language we've seen on newer Cadillacs of late. That's most particularly emphasized with those vertically integrated LED headlights. The sharply creased styling is also signature Cadillac, as is the egg-crate grille capped by the brand's wreath-less new emblem. The dark brown paint job also looks like it has a deep metallic flake to it, offset by satin brightwork where you might have once expected to see glinting chrome. (Then again, it could just be reflecting a uniform backdrop.) The XT5 is expected to be the first of several new Caddy crossovers to wear the letters XT. A smaller model (likely to be dubbed XT3) is tipped to slot in below, with a larger XT7 to slot in above – but still below the defiantly truck-based Escalade that's not about to go anywhere anytime soon. Sedans will continue to start their nameplates with the letters CT. But after a dozen years, the letters SRX will be retired from the Cadillac lexicon. Related Video:

Cadillac Ciel concept features in Entourage trailer

Wed, Dec 24 2014

Some of us may miss HBO's Entourage more than others, but one way or another, it sure had some cool cars. The characters on the show were constantly trading between Astons, Maseratis and Ferraris – not to mention a smattering of Benzes and Escalades – but one of our favorite sets of wheels from the show's entire eight-year run was the 1965 Lincoln Continental featured in the opening credits. The vintage parade car undoubtedly provided the studio with a great way to showcase the camaraderie between the four members of the title crew, but also made us pine for a time when you could actually get your hands on a four-door convertible. Unfortunately they just don't make 'em like that anymore – not the car and not the TV show in which it featured – but fans of both will be pleased to watch this latest trailer for the upcoming Entourage movie. Not only does it include all the members of the original cast, but it also features Detroit's latest (and arguably most stylish) attempt at reviving the four-door cabriolet: the commandingly elegant and achingly desirable but sadly unobtainable Cadillac Ciel concept of 2011. Ghostbusters trailer stars Ecto1 and a quartet of actresses

Thu, Mar 3 2016

"Um... you didn't disclose that the vehicle was going to be a hearse," says funnywoman Melissa McCarthy in the brand-spankin'-new trailer for the upcoming Ghostbusters reboot. Traditionalist fans may be similarly angered by the vehicle's basis, since the original Ecto1 was an ambulance, not a vehicle for the dead. Leslie Jones' response to McCarthy wasn't meant to answer those critics, but it does a good job of it anyway: "It's a Cadillac!" Naturally, there's a lot more to look at in the new trailer than just the Ecto1. There are, obviously, ghosts. Lots of 'em, in fact. There's also an opening piano sequence that's pretty darn great, but we ought to warn you that if you watch the video up above, you're going to be humming the theme from Ghostbusters for the rest of the day. We're sorry, but it simply cannot be avoided. You've been warned. Related Video:
