This is a 1991 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham up for auction.

Features
5.0 Liter V8 EFI.  This has the 170 hp fuel injected not the 140 hp carburated engine.  Engine is strong and transmission shifts crisp.  There is an occasional miss upon takeoff.  Again, runs strong, I would simply change oil and tune it up with a fresh set of plugs.  It has power everything and all windows work.  No A/C of course.  This car has a Kenwood CD player with USB ipod hookup.  There are upgraded 6x9s in the rear.  Also, this car has been wired for amp and subs with high gauge wire.  That will stay.  If you need the headunit and speakers to close the deal, they can stay as well as most people want to put their own equiptment in.

Condition.

Overall, this is a generally clean Brougham.  It has not been abused, ate in, smoked in, etc under my ownership.  I would rate the interior 7 out of 10.
good
clean interior
new headliner
new exhaust
vinyal roof in good condition
hood ornament
no pulsation on brakes stops very smooth
that is an old car phone mounted to the floor there free with purchase

bad

rear bumper has rust holes
driver rear quarter has significant rust issue that I had just found out, other wise clean underneath
rust around wheel wells and random spots
I would describe the rest of the paint as a 5/10
presentable from a distance (no fading, etc)
new gas tank, but needs vent tube
mirrors loose on drivers side

Overall, this is a great car to have fun with restore etc.  It just will need TLC as all Cadillacs of this vintage need.  I would encourage if you have any questions to call me at 412-951-4455 prior to bidding because I dont want to play around, I need to sell this car asap.  I would want to decribe the car to the best of my knowlege because the pictures do look decent. Make no mistake, the car has "Cadillac" issues, but it is a car that commands respect and you will get alot of compliments!

Thank you,

Bill

Cadillac recalls ELR coupe over stability control problems

Fri, 28 Mar 2014

Cadillac is recalling about 656 2014 ELR models made between September 26, 2013 and February 14, 2014, because of a fault with the electronic stability control system. On cars without adaptive cruise control, it's possible that diagnostics could prevent the system from telling the driver if ESC is on or off.
Cadillac has a software fix ready and repairs begin on April 17. Alan Adler, General Motors' recall and legal spokesperson, tells Autoblog that only about 55 of the affected cars are in the hands of owners. The rest are either on dealer lots or still at the factory. There have been no reported injuries or crashes caused by the fault.
The correction for the stability control system involves a software recalibration of the electronic brake control module that takes around 20 minutes to perform. While they use the same platform, the Chevrolet Volt isn't involved in this recall because it "uses a different a brake control module," said Adler.

Don Draper's 1965 Cadillac Coupe de Ville up for auction

Mon, Aug 3 2015

Few have ever nor ever will embody the sheer confidence and style of Don Draper, the main character on the hit AMC drama Mad Men. But if you can't quite match his style, at least you can drive his car. Now that the series has now concluded its eight-year run, the studio behind it is selling off a whole mess of artifacts from the show through ScreenBid, a specialist Hollywood memorabilia auctioneer. There's a good 1,300 lots up for grabs, from props to costumes. But the lot that's caught our attention is this 1965 Cadillac Coupe de Ville. Don picked this car up in the fifth season and drove it until the penultimate episode. These are the wheels he (spoiler alert!) drove across the country, got repaired in Oklahoma, and ultimately gave to a kid working at the motel before making his way by bus to the Bonneville Salt Flats in the final episode. At the time of writing, bidding had reached $25,000 with four days still to go. Cadillac first used the de Ville as a trim level on the Series 62 before spinning it off into its own model line. 1965 was the first year of the third-generation de Ville, stretching a massive 224 inches (over 18 and a half feet!) long. Powering over 4,600 pounds of personal American luxury was an equally massive 7.0-liter V8 that drove 340 horsepower through a three-speed automatic transmission. The name wasn't retired until 2005 when the final DeVille (as it was styled by then) was replaced by the DTS, which itself was shorthand for DeVille Touring Sedan. Cadillac produced the last DTS in 2011, finally putting to rest a name that had, in one form or another, been used since 1949. Few cars had the kind of presence that the third-gen Coupe de Ville did, though, and Draper knew it. Or at least the show's producers did.

Cadillac considering ultra-luxe, $100k+ Escalade

Tue, Sep 22 2015

The Cadillac Escalade has pushed incrementally up-market over the years. From its humble Chevy/GMC truck underpinnings, the latest Escalade starts at $72,970 and tops out at $96,940. But according to the latest reports, Cadillac is weighing an even more upscale version. Though the exact nature of the upgrades that would push the Escalade further up-market remain unknown – and perhaps undecided at this point – the impetus for such a move is crystal clear. European luxury SUVs keep getting more and more expensive, both from established players and new challengers. Bentley just launched the Bentayga, and other luxury marques like Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Maserati, and Lamborghini are all getting into the game. All the while manufacturers like Land Rover and Mercedes-Benz keep rolling out ever more expensive offerings, like the Range Rover Autobiography and anticipating forthcoming Maybach sport-ute. To challenge those European imports with their astronomic price tags, Cadillac could go with an even higher trim level than its existing Platinum spec – or it could go with a more powerful, performance-oriented Escalade V or Vsport. Getting that big a vehicle to hustle would require a lot of power, but then General Motors has never been one to shy away from slotting a bigger engine into its vehicles. One thing's for certain though, and that's that Cadillac isn't quite done with pushing the Escalade higher up the market.
