Up for Auction is a Custom built One Of A Kind Cadillac "STATESMAN" Open Top Convertible Limousine. This unique vehicle was built by Parade Coach Builders in Florida www.paradelimos.com. This is the Statesman model, meaning entirely open rear compartment from front door / b pillar back. Each car they build is unique and custom. The Statesman has chrome rails around the parade seat, and on the roof. The base vehicle is a 1995 Cadillac Fleetwood stretched a total of 48 inches behind the front door and in front of the rear door. Middle doors and a middle seat were added. Parade Coach then removes the 3/4 of the top in back of the front doors to make the entire middle and rear compartment open. AWESOME! fit for a president. The Statesman features custom quarter windows on middle and rear doors, shaved door handles on the middle doors which open with inside handles only. This is an awesome ride reminiscent of early 20th century open top Presidential Parade Cars. This is the perfect vehicle for weekend touring, site seeing, business promotions vineyard tours, city tours, historic tours, a real estate business and of course parades. OR what i use it for just cruising to car shows anddriving on weekends. THIS IS A HEAD TURNER. You will NEVER see another one pull up next to you and this one is in mint condition. THIS VEHICLE HAS 41,500 miles on it!!!! THAT IS RIGHT JUST 41,500 ORIGINAL MILES. Mechanically for the gear heads, this Cadillac came from the factory with the formidable LT-1 Engine and matched automatic transmission which Cadillac borrowed from Chevrolet to give unbeleivable power to this rear wheel drive car. This model is the last rear wheel drive model Cadillac built. The engine is the same engine as the Corvette of this year. Power is unreal for a large heavy car. Exterior is finished in Cadillac Midnight Blue paint and the paint is flawless and brand new. The vehicle has no dents or dings or scratches. The chrome trim and bumpers are also perfect. It has a snap on manual top that takes about 3 minutes to put up and the black canvas top is brand new. All the chrome on the vehicle is showroom new. The exterior features lighted flag stands on the front fenders. The front headlights also have a wig wag feature as well. This vehicle is equipped with a siren and PA System. All badging is brand new chrome and it is fitted with "STATESMAN" emblems on the rear sail panel. There are a total of six doors that open but the middle doors have no door handles for a sleak and finished limousine look. The front drivers compartment is finished in medium blue original Cadillac leather and it is in very good shape with no rips or tears. The middle and rear seats have medium blue original cadillac leather. The middle seat faces the forward. The rear seat is raised ten inches and has air conditioning vents under it that blows ice cold. The middle and rear compartments have removable springwater and champagne bars. The rear interior and carpet is brand new with absolutely no wear anywhere. Dark blue Carpet and mats inside the rear are brand new. Parade seat in the rear is perfect matching medium blue and brand new. All door panels are like new condition. The interior and exterior shows absolutely no wear at all. The front compartment is factory with the addition of flag stand light switch (never ever fly the American Flag at night without lighting it) and interior special light package switch. Also is the PA System / Siren System and Microphone. VERY NEAT feature. Police tones and PA to address the crowd in parades. There are two air conditioning systems in the vehicle with controls in the front for the factory air and the rear air conditioning system that has vents under the middle and rear seats for use to cool passengers during long parades. White wall VOGUE tires are brand new and like new Cadillac Factory Correct Rims. Lincoln hijacks Cadillac's 'Dare Greatly' tagline
Tue, Feb 24 2015Talk about comedy - not even 24 hours after Cadillac teased its CT6 while inviting us to "Dare Greatly" during the Oscars telecast, Lincoln was doing the same but on Google. An anonymous tipster informed us the day after the Oscars that typing "dare greatly" into Google returned two ads before the search results. When we checked it over the course of a few hours, the first ad was always for Cadillac and either read, "Cadillac - Dare Greatly - Only those who dare drive the world forward," or, "Cadillac - Dare Greatly - It's not the critic who counts, it's the man in the arena." (On a side note, come on, Cadillac - "the man in the arena?" Well. It's a quote. Suppose that's all right, then.) The second result was for Lincoln and read, "Dare Greatly - It's not about making a statement, it's about doing what you love," with the associated URL being www.lincoln.com/dare+greatly. The first time we clicked it, it went to the Lincoln homepage showing the 2015 MKZ Hybrid. The second time, we got a page saying that the Lincoln site wasn't available; the Lincoln site was fine, the link didn't work. There's no reference to the Google joke at the Lincoln site - this was just about getting eyeballs. The English have the perfect phrase for Lincoln's provocation: "You've got some cheek!" We think it cunning, dastardly, and funny, and there's no doubt it worked - they knew people would flock to search the term. One of our competitors, Autotrader, said that within an hour of the first of four Cadillac spots airing during the Oscars, car searches for Cadillac vehicles climbed 53 percent from pre-Academy Award coverage levels. Searches for Cadillac cars were up 120%, they said. If this is Round One of our homegrown scrappy old-timers going at it, we're all for it. Petrolicious eats up Rita Hayworth's 1953 Cadillac Ghia
Wed, Feb 11 2015The automotive industry has seem some wonderful transoceanic collaborations between America and Italy, from the Ford-powered De Tomasos of the 1960s to the alliance between Fiat and Chrysler today. Of course it's also seen unfortunate experiments in between like the Chrysler TC by Maserati and the Pininfarina-bodied Cadillac Allante. But before any of those, there was a beautiful tradition of rebodying American steel at the hands of Italian carrozzerie. And this could easily be among the most gorgeous of them all. It's a Cadillac Series 62 from 1953 with bodywork by Ghia. It's one of only two made, and has a star-studded history. The car was purchased by Aly Khan, prince of the Nizari Ismaili muslims and Pakistan's ambassador to the United Nations, for his wife... who just so happened to be the inimitable Rita Hayworth. They split up, but she held on to the car. Today it's part of the permanent collection at the Petersen Automotive Museum in LA, so the videographical artisans at Petrolicious went by to check it out. You'll want to as well in the five-minute short above.
