1995 Cadillac Fleetwood 6 door High Top/Presidential Top limo. Conversion by S & S!

We purchased it from Impala Motors in Memphis in August 2011 with 44K miles on it. The car most certainly served as a funeral limo. In 2010 it was hit on the passenger side and it was written off by the insurance company, then later repaired, thus the rebuilt title. As we understand it, what was repaired/replaced was the center door and glass.........Since August 2011, it's been the daily driver for me and has been very reliable. It is in overall good condition and has been well maintained. We have a notebook with all receipts and the service history while we owned it. The LT-1 350 CID V-8 engine has been running smoothly and despite the hefty weight of the car, it has had ample power. Starting circa October 2013 it started to occasionally very lightly sputter at acceleration. Brought the car to Christian Brothers several times for them to address the issue. Despite this, it still did not run right. They were not sure what the problem was other than they felt it could be condensation in the gas tank. I felt it was likely the fuel filter but they stated they replaced it. I then had them replace the spark plug wires. The sputtering issue may or may not have stopped but now it ran rough and had very little power. Not sure if they put the spark plug wires on correctly or not, ie, firing order or if it's the condensation issue in the gas tank or something else but she definitely is not running right and doesn't seem to be running on all 8 cylinders. I simply don't have the time, money or interest to fiddle with it any more and get it running right again as I purchased another car and need to sell this one. Time to clear up the driveway. PS: It took part in the 2012 Elvis Presley car show at Graceland! At that time it had a set of bull horns on the hood that we've since removed!

THE BAD:

REBUILT TITLE.
ENGINE NOT RUNNING RIGHT! Runs very rough, has little power but is drivable.
Has very noticeable and prominent exhaust leak.
When it rains the interior and trunk gets a little wet. Interior occasionally has odor of wetness.
Windshield washer fluid not functioning.

Front & rear AC not cold. Rear unit likely needs freon as it was cold last year.
Excessive wind noise from a couple of windows at speeds above 45 MPH.
Fuel gauge is a little off.
Rear view mirror has delaminated from the windshield and will need to be re-adhered.

.......and: Passenger side middle door lower moulding hangs a little (visible in photo). Small dent on hood which is barely visible. Indentation in grille. The vinyl roof is good but has one quarter size hole on top center and a few other small cracks. Drivers side fender light is cracked and a portion of the glass broke off and the bumper moulding on that corner is missing. Window tint is fair with a few scratches and flaws, most noticeably drivers side front which is torn. Passenger side front window tint is missing.

THE GOOD:
Great looking car with only 62K original miles.
Rare, hard to find High Top model.
Drives, rides, shifts and stops smooth and great (when she runs right) with no major squeaks or rattles. The car has a lot of life left in it.
Near flawless interior. No rips or tears anywhere. Dash not cracked or faded.

Water pump, distributor, rotor, spark plug wires all replaced just before I stopped driving it in December 2013.
New tires.
All power features except power antenna & power trunk work.
No warning lights of any type are lit up on the dash.
A lot of car for the money.

......and: This has been one of my favorite cars to drive. It drove like a car should with relatively low miles on it and with it's long wheelbase and LT-1 engine it had quite a road presence and it was a joy to drive. The middle seat has been switched to face the rear for true limo feel, but can be switched back to forward facing. All glass is good!

Such Sweet Sorrow: Cadillac's CTS-V gets an Irish wake

Wed, Nov 26 2014

As the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. The honkin', stonkin' second-generation CTS-V, powered by Cadillac's brawny supercharged 6.2-liter V8 has been a very good thing. And now that the 500 final coupes – the only CTS-Vs designated 2015 models – have been built (just five remain unsold as of this writing), it is indeed a good thing that's come to an end. But Cadillac is not letting 2009–2015 CTS-V go gently into that good night, even as its replacement is poised to debut in just in just two months at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. Instead, Cadillac invited us to Austin's Circuit of the Americas racetrack for what it called an "Irish wake" for the model that has proven to be one of the quickest and most charismatic models in General Motors' history. If you don't know what an Irish wake is, if you envision storytelling, songs, debauchery and more than a little liquor, you'll be in the ballpark. In this case, though, adrenaline substituted in for the booze, with squealing tires and shrieking V8s providing the singing. The debauchery took the form of an all-you-can-drive lapping of COTA in all three bodystyles – coupe, sedan and wagon – and the stories were told by the grins plastered on our faces all day. First and foremost, we'll miss the CTS-V's perfect balance of luxury and sportiness. Even after six years with no major changes, the CTS-V is surprisingly spry. Certainly, you never forget that it's a heavy thing, weighing in anywhere between 4217 pounds for the manual-equipped coupe to 4424 for an automatic wagon, but with 0-60 times of about four seconds and the ability to hit about 150 mph on COTA's back straight, the Vs remain an absolute hoot on the track. Sure, some of its details – the blocky front fascia shapes and the spoiler on the sedan and coupe models, for example – look a bit dated, but the overall design still looks sufficiently badass. The interior design has worn pretty well, too, and however Cadillac may feel about center stack buttons being so last decade, we favor them over the capacitive-touch madness of today's CUE system. We're not going to bother doing another full review of the car here, but suffice it to say, there is plenty we will miss. First and foremost, will be the CTS-V's perfect balance of luxury and sportiness. Rumor has it that Cadillac will offer the 6.2-liter LT4 V8 in the next generation (we predict about 600 hp), but we hear that the new car will skew more toward luxury than balls-out performance.

Cadillac prices 410-hp XTS Vsport from $63,020*

Mon, 24 Jun 2013

Cadillac has officially released pricing for the 2014 XTS Vsport. Buyers can expect to pay $63,020 for the fleet four-door, including destination and handling fees. That kind of coin will snag you a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 good for 410 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. As you likely already know, engineers have done a lot more than simply bolt a pair of turbos onto the company's tried and true naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6. The engine uses an all-new block, strengthened connecting rods and domed aluminum pistons and is fed through a revised direct-injection fuel system. Combined, the tweaks allow the V6 to suck down 12 psi of boost.
The price tag puts the 2014 Cadillac XTS Vsport well under potential (if ambitious) competitors like the Audi S6 at $71,900, plus destination fees. A base BMW 550i will set you back $62,700, excluding destination charges, but throwing options at the German sedan will quickly see that number climb higher. You can check out the full press release below for more information.

Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R named Road & Track Performance Car of the Year

Mon, Nov 9 2015

With a 526-horsepower, 5.2-liter V8 that roars to 8,250 rpm, it's really hard to consider the 2016 Ford Shelby Mustang GT350R an underdog in any fight. However, the Shelby held the lowest as-tested price and was only middle of the pack in terms of power in Road & Track's 2016 Performance Car of the Year challenge. The 'Stang's numbers clearly didn't tell the whole story about the potent coupe because Ford's muscle car grabbed the title in this year's test. A model needs to be new or significantly updated to be eligible for the honor, and R&T found an impressive slate of eight candidates this year. The challengers included the Bentley Continental GT3-R, Cadillac ATS-V Coupe, Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Dodge Viper ACR, Mercedes-AMG GT S, and Porsche Cayman GT4. The Ferrari 488 GTB was the most expensive of the bunch with an as-tested price of $347,942, which is five times more than the Shelby. Once the group was together, R&T hustled them over curving roads and on the National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park. There was a lot to love about the Shelby, even in this impressive crew. "With a flat-plane crank and Sport Cup 2 tires, the GT350R is a Mustang turned up to 11," editor-in-chief Larry Webster said in the announcement of the results. The GT350R joins some great company. Past winners include the Porsche 911 GT3 last year and the Corvette in 2013. For some fantastic photography and the complete appraisal of these performance machines check out R&T's website for the full story. The article appears in the December/January issue, on newsstands November 17, and on RoadandTrack.com. "With a flat-plane crank and Sport Cup 2 tires, the GT350R is a Mustang turned up to 11," said Larry Webster, editor-in-chief of Road & Track. "Not only does the car have soul and harness so much firepower with such ease, but the real achievement here is that it's so approachable. It's a car you can't help but love." The Mustang Shelby GT350R was the winner by a runaway vote.
