1970 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham on 2040-cars
Salt Lake City, Utah, United States
1970 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham. 95,315 original miles. Smooth and powerful 472 V-8. Original brocade interior and original vinyl top. Car was donated to a Monastery outside of Denver, Co. by the original owners. This is where my friend acquired it several years ago. After driving it home to Utah, it has been garage kept and very well maintained. It has a new two-stage paint job in the original Glenmore green. Costing @$2000. The tires are about 5 years old and the correct size of 235/75. With all four original hubcaps in new condition. The headliner is like new, as well as the trunk compartment.
This beautiful Cadillac starts, runs, and drives very nicely. It has a newer battery and alternator. The tie rod ends and ball joints have recently all been replaced. The exhaust is intact and in good shape with new tail pipes. The rear springs and shock absorbers are also new. All of the power accessories work properly. We are including some miscellaneous extra trim/parts, including the very rare passenger side view mirror (not installed). This car even has the original owners manual in the glove box. These Cadillacs were very well appointed and heavily optioned. Power: Seats, Windows, Brakes and Steering. As well as tilt/tele-scopic steering wheel, Guide-matic auto dimming headlights, and Twilight Sentinel. Am/Fm Radio, automatic trunk entry/latch, Cruise control, and adjustable reading lamps for rear passenger comfort and convenience. The doors on this Cadillac open and close as if they were brand new. There is no other automobile to compare it to in terms of grandiose posture and stately appearance. The new owner of this fine Fleetwood will have no disappointments whatsoever. This Cadillac has current Utah tags and has passed emissions and inspection standards with flying colors every year. Buyer could certainly fly into Salt Lake City and drive this elegant car home anywhere. Shipping is the sole responsibility of the new owner, however I can help guide you to some respectable transport companies in the area. Please understand that I have described this car, to the best of my ability. It is almost 45 years old, and mostly original, so therein lies some small imperfections related to age and normal driving wear. I am happy to answer any and all questions and inquiries about this car. Just send me an email in Ebay's forum requesting my phone number. Bidders with 0 or low feedback must contact me before I will allow your bids to stand. This auction is a legally binding contract to buy this vehicle. I have set a very fair reserve for such a grand automobile such as this. Please bid to buy! Thanks and good luck! On Mar-03-14 at 17:11:32 PST, seller added the following information: The A/C blows nice and cold and the climate control all works as it should. *********************** The winning bidder must send a $500 (non-refundable)deposit within 48 hours of auction ending, unless other payment arrangements are discussed with me either via email or by phone. |

2015 Cadillac Escalade gets 8-speed auto, range-topping Platinum Collection trim
Mon, 11 Aug 2014The redesigned 2015 Cadillac Escalade is still quite fresh on the market, but the luxury brand has a host of mid-model-year updates for its massive luxury SUV that should make it an even better driver. The range-topping Platinum Collection (pictured above) is also all set to ensconce drivers in leather when it hits the road in the fourth quarter of 2014.
The entire Escalade range now gets an eight-speed automatic to replace the previous six-speed, and four-wheel drive models also get a two-speed transfer case to go along with it. New standard features include a Surround View camera system, 4G LTE connectivity, and the electric tailgate also now closes hands-free, in addition to opening that way.
To make riding in the Escalade an even more luxurious experience, Cadillac is adding a Platinum trim. Exterior changes add even more shine to the behemoth SUV with a grille wearing the redesigned brand crest, additional chrome trim, 22-inch wheels and Platinum badges. However, the interior is where things really get plush. The first and second row of seats are wrapped in Nappa, semi-aniline leather in a choice of either beige or gray. The dashboard, upper door panels and center console also get hand-stitched and wrapped leather, plus a suede microfiber headliner. Both front seats are heated and cooled with 18-way power adjustments, and the driver even gets a massaging function. Rear passengers are hardly left out, either, with 7-inch LCD screens in the headrests and a 9-inch screen in the center.
Cadillac logo losing its wreath?
Tue, 23 Jul 2013The easily recognizable Cadillac logo dates back to the company's founding in the early 1900s, but over the last 110 years, there has been an on-again, off-again love affair with the wreath surrounding the crest. Cadillac's current badge design has used the wreath since the 1980s, but Automotive News is reporting that GM's luxury division is planning to ditch the laurel wreath for a cleaner-looking logo.
The new logo could make its debut as early as next month on a new concept car that will be revealed at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, although the report also says that it might be until 2015 before it makes its way to a production car. Even then, it doesn't like anything has been finalized yet, as the article also says that plans could still change.
As Cadillac looks to improve its global presence as a luxury automaker, the report says that a simpler logo could make it easier for designers to incorporate the badge onto the car - either in the grille or above the grille (possibly in a fashion similar to Mercedes-Benz). Head on over to the AN article, which shows the Cadillac logo dating back to its earliest design.
How Cadillac improved power output in 2016 ELR by 25 percent
Tue, Jun 2 2015Earlier this year, Cadillac announced that the 2016 ELR would come with a big price drop and a powertrain that packs 25 percent more power output. That's a lot more oomph, but it didn't sound like the Caddy engineers made any major changes to the engine or motors. So, what happened? Let's refresh our memories with the numeric details. The 2016 car is 1.5 seconds quicker to 60 miles per hour than the 2014 model (there was no 2015), down to 6.4 seconds. The 2014 put out 295 pound-feet of torque. For 2016, it will be 373 lb-ft. The specific breakdown of the various components in the powertrain has not been disclosed, but from what we can tell, the two electric motors and the 1.4-liter inline-four engine in the new ELR are not that much different than those in the old one. Sam Abuelsamid, senior research analyst at Navigant Research (and former writer here at Autoblog) said that any of the unspecified upgrades would be difficult to tell on a part-by-part basis, but the overall effect will be noticeable. "The changes to the ELR as I understand them are analogous to getting more performance out of a 1965 Mustang with the entry version of the 289 cubic-inch V8. You can replace the carburetor with a larger version that enables more air and fuel to flow into the engine, thus producing more power. The basic engine hasn't changed, but power capability is being unleashed by feeding it more." "Cadillac has changed components in the power electronics to enable more current flow into the motor and thus produce more torque. When you do this in the Mustang, you probably need to replace the rear axle gears and use a beefier clutch to transmit the power to the wheels. Similarly, the ELR probably has some upgraded clutches, bearings, and gears to withstand the increased total output." Cadillac spokesperson David Caldwell told AutoblogGreen in an email that the new ELR does indeed have more than just new lines of code. "One could not 'reflash' a previous ELR to get the performance of a 2016," Caldwell said. "If one only changed software you would not get the performance upgrade fully, as the 2016 creates higher current, more power. So these have been upgraded physically – hardware.
