1970 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham 18k Mile Survivor! on 2040-cars
Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, United States
1970 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham. Car was recently pulled from a garage where it was placed 30 years ago. This is an "A" title car purchased new from a family in 1970. Since purchasing the car, the following has been done: New Hancock white wall tires on all four corners, front pads replaced, new plugs, new fuel filter, new air filter, oil was changed and zinc added. The cars mileage is a little over 18,000, which is believed to be fully accurate, close inspection reveals factory components that coincide with the mileage, factory plug wires, factory air filter, factory riveted pads in the front, factory riveted pads in the rear. The plugs I took out where factory AC Delco, as is the cap and rotor. The original tires are included with the car dated 1971, but do have flat spots. The cars paint shows shiny with minor stone chipping in a few places, chrome shines with a beautiful gleam. The vinyl top is in excellent shape with a minor tear starting at the body line. Small spot of rust right above the trim molding on the passenger fender. Interior is in very nice shape with minor wear to the seats. All electronics appear to work with the exception of the clock. The car runs and drives, but will need a few minor finishing touches before it's really road worthy. The brakes pull to one side upon hard breaking, I would recommend replacing both front calipers to be safe. Transmission has a delay going from park to reverse, but all forward gears seem fine with plenty of pull. (After sitting for 30 years a trans service should really be done). All together this is an excellent example of an unrestored classic survivor with low mileage. Payment is due upon picking vehicle up. Delivery is possible within a reasonable distance, and can be negotiated with the winning bidder or before hand. I am available most times to show the car if you are local. Clean "A" Deleware title ready for transfer.

Despite strong profits, GM still fighting flat market share
Fri, Jan 17 2014Looking at the progress General Motors has made since it entered bankruptcy, it's easy to forget that the company still has a long way to go before it's the juggernaut it once was. A recent report from Reuters points out that, while GM is making money, it isn't making any gains in terms of US market share. Quite the opposite, really. Consider this factoid: In 1963, nearly half of the cars sold in the United States were from Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, GMC or Pontiac. Now, the company's US market share is stagnant at 17.9 percent. That same number is half of just Chevy's 1963 market share. This is all despite GM going on a binge replacing or updating its models. "Market share increases are not instantaneous," Mark Reuss told Reuters at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. "We've got a lot of baggage. Don't underestimate what people though of us, or these brands, through these hardships and 30 years." The reasons for the stagnant market share are numerous. Reuters points out that retooling of factories and a focus on limiting incentives are both good things for profit, but not necessarily for market share. There's also the troubling turnover of the brand's marketing department. These issues don't change the fact that Chevrolet has lost 1.4 percent of its market share in two years, and that Cadillac - arguably GM's most improved brand overall - has lost 1.2 percent in the same period. Part of that can be blamed on GM's avoidance of fleet sales in favor of more profitable customer sales. "Our focus has really been on retail and that's where we've got the growth," said Alan Batey, GM's interim global marketing boss. "We want to grow GM and that means growing market share and profits, but it's not at all costs," Reuss said. This dream home theater and office happens to be in a Cadillac Escalade [w/video]
Fri, Dec 19 2014Need to take a ride cross country in the lap of luxury while still getting some work done? Short of a tour bus, the Concept One Curve from Lexani Motorcars might be one of the most comfy options imaginable. Lexani is usually known for creating opulent armored vehicles, but for the Concept One Curve it focuses on converting a 2015 Cadillac Escalade into a place for work or play. The company strips out the standard passenger compartment to install a higher ceiling with LED lighting, two leather-upholstered power captain's chairs and jump seats. However, the real highlight is a 48-inch curved 4K television mounted against the driver's partition. Don't worry about missing your favorite shows because there's a TracVision Satellite, too. The driver gets a re-covered seat of their own up front. If business needs to get done, the vehicle also includes a Mac Mini computer, tables stowed in the seats and connections for video conferencing. Of course, if you're riding in something this lavish, security might be a concern too. In addition to the window shades, the Concept One Curve features cameras to know what's going on outside. A touchscreen management system lets occupants control the whole setup from the luxurious chairs. Lexani claims that if all of this somehow isn't enough for a buyer, it offers even more options to fit their needs. Scroll down to watch a video tour and read more about this rolling home theater. {C} Lexani Concept One Curve Lexani Motorcars, a boutique luxury conversion company receiving vast international praise, has produced the Concept One Curve - the world's first 2015 Escalade with a built-in 48" 4K Technology Curved Smart TV. Lexani Motorcars is constantly pushing the boundaries of possibility for luxury transportation in everyday vehicles. The Curve is a revisited version of their latest model, the Concept One, with a television upgrade and electronic rear curtains; it is unmatched in its ability to be a premier theater one minute and a five-star mobile office the next. The curved smart TV-which rests on a proprietary electronic partition-is indeed impressive, but it is just one of the numerous amenities this discreet masterpiece boasts.
