This is a gorgeous, unmolested 1963 Cadillac Sixty-Special Fleetwood 4dr sedan in excellent condition inside and out. This beauty has been pampered all its life and it shows! It is a one owner, 75K original mile car from an estate in Seattle, WA. The car is mostly all original from front to back. This Cadillac in my opinion is "One of the nicest '63 Cadillac Fleetwood's around, offered for sale". It has most of its original paint and is one very beautiful and rare color combination. They only built 14,000 Cadillac Fleetwoods in 1963 so this car is very rare. The car retains all its original sheet metal and is solid as rock. Cadillac ATS was almost front-wheel drive
Wed, 03 Apr 2013"We were going to do a front-wheel drive Cadillac compact off of Delta because it was going to be less expensive," Doug Parks, General Motors' vice president of global product programs, told the Automotive News during the Detroit Auto Show in January of this year. That sentence, referring to early ATS discussions more than five years ago - a period when the automaker, and the industry, was struggling - reveals that Cadillac's highly acclaimed rear-wheel drive compact sedan almost never happened.
Parks revealed that that automaker actually built a 2.0-liter test mule, on GM's Delta platform (shared with the Chevrolet Cruze and Buick Verano) and tested it in Europe. While the prototype was "pretty darn good," according to Parks, the team realized that in order to compete against Mercedes-Benz and BMW it would have to invest in a new rear-wheel drive platform.
The resulting all-new Alpha platform would eventually underpin the Cadillac ATS, and many would argue that its balanced rear-wheel drive chassis is its single most important attribute. Thankfully, the Alpha's goodness won't stop with the ATS. The upcoming 2014 Cadillac CTS and the future Camaro will also share its architecture, meaning the Cimarron will remain a distant memory.
2017 North American Car, Truck, and Utility of the Year entries announced
Wed, Jul 6 2016Over 40 vehicles will compete for the 2017 North American Car, Truck, and Utility of the Year awards. If that name looks a little strange, it's because the competition added a third category. In years past, pickup trucks, crossovers, SUVs, commercial vans, and minivans competed for the same award. That's why there were occasionally weird comparisons, like last year's competition between the Volvo XC90 and Nissan Titan XD. The new format separates pickups and commercial vans into the truck contest and CUVs, SUVs, and minivans into the utility competition. A complete list of eligible vehicles is below, but here are a few highlights. For one, the entire list of entries has a luxurious lean. Of the 43 vehicles, nearly half of them are from premium brands. There are two eligible Bentleys – the Bentayga and Mulsanne – the Rolls-Royce Dawn, Jaguar F-Pace, Audi Q7, and the Mercedes-Benz GLS-, E-, and S-Class Maybach. The performance ranks are lofty, too, with the Audi R8, Acura NSX, Alfa Romeo Giulia, Mercedes SL- and SLC-Class, Porsche 718, and F-150 Raptor. The mainstream entries are just as comprehensive. From the Chrysler Pacifica to the Chevrolet Cruze to the Fiat 124 Spider to the Mitsubishi Mirage, NACTOY has covered an enormous price range with this year's contestants. Of course, these are only the eligible vehicles. They'll need to run through three rounds of judging, starting in September at NACTOY's traditional Hell, MI, test drive. The Canadian and American journalists involved in the judging will announce this year's nine finalists – three in each category – on December 6. Cadillac is bringing a new concept to Pebble Beach
Mon, Aug 15 2016Cadillac will debut a new concept Thursday in Monterey. The company also released teaser video, but it only shows us a few glimpses of interior parts and a concept drawing that seems to show a very minimalistic dashboard. The big draw appears to be the large screen filling in for instruments and infotainment. According to Cadillac, the screens are curved OLED panels co-developed with LG, and the technology behind them will appear in a future Cadillac. Bringing a new concept to the famous Monterey Car Week is a return to form for Cadillac. In past years the company brought beautiful concepts like the full-size, four-door Ciel convertible, and the taught, athletic Elmiraj coupe. The latter of these showcased designed cues that trickled into production Cadillacs. No word (or pictures) on the exterior yet. We'll be sure to have complete coverage of the concept later this week.
