This is a very nice, 1959 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 75 9 passenger Limousine in good condition inside and out. This car is extremely rare as they built only 710 series 75 sedans and who knows how many are left in the world. It is a great driver for someone as it has had a mild restoration. This caddy was used for the last several years by a specialty Limo company for wedding and special events in northern California. It runs and drives very good and would make a great cruiser, promotional car or functional limo. It has spent most of its life in California. This 1959 Cadillac limo has newer paint job and looks good for a driver. The front and rear chrome bumpers have been redone and look great. The rest of the trim on this car and is completely original and in very good condition for a driver. All of the glass is in excellent condition except one of the rear windows has a small crack. It is sitting on its original wheels and hubcaps wrapped with wide whitewall tires. It has a very nice interior that is a mix of original and redone. All the door panels look to be original. The carpet, headliner front and rear seat have been redone and look very nice. Everything works in the car except the power front seat, horn, clock and original AM radio which are all easy fixes. The rear jump seats are original. The dash pad is original and looks great. It has a broken horn ring and a couple of cracks in the steering wheel. Inside the trunk has been recently redone and looks very nice. Mechanically, the engine and transmission run very good! This Cadillac drives with no issues at all as it should be for use as a limo! The 390ci motor provides great power to move this little diamond around. The car fires right up and runs great. The engine compartment is all stock and original looking. It has factory air conditioning that looks to be all there but needs to be serviced. Fire her up and she's ready to cruise. Cadillac ATS Crimson Sport Edition is here for a limited run
Fri, 21 Mar 2014The Cadillac ATS has been a well-received entry into the small sport sedan segment for General Motors' premium brand, but keeping the model fresh is an understandably high priority. A two-door coupe variant is on the way and should help keep interest up, but the line's volume leader is still expected to be the sedan. In order to keep awareness high and sales going, GM will need to lavish a little attention on its four-door, as well. That's where the Crimson Sport Edition comes in.
Crimson Red Metallic paint is the exterior highlight for this special-edition Cadillac, while the interior is complemented with a number of microsuede touchpoints, including the heated steering wheel and shifter. To this point, the car's rich burgundy finish has only been offered on CTS-V Coupe and Sport Wagon models, and brand spokesperson Donny Nordlicht tells Autoblog that this is the first time that the company has offered a microsuede wheel with heat. Four interior trims are also available, although all have been seen previously.
The Crimson Sport will be limited to production this spring, and the trimmings can be added to either the 2.0T Performance or the V6 Premium specifications. Both rear- and all-wheel drive will be available, as well. Prices start at $46,010 for the turbocharged model and $51,010 for the V6 including destination fees, which represents a premium of $2,990 for the extra equipment.
Johan responds to critics again about Cadillac's NY move
Wed, 15 Oct 2014Cadillac's new President Johan de Nysschen has faced a fair amount of criticism since assuming his position at the head of the American luxury manufacturer. From the company's move to New York City to a controversial new naming scheme, the first few months of his tenure have not been smooth sailing. Now, the embattled exec is firing back against his critics, notably Automotive News Editor-in-Chief Keith Crain, in a new column running in AN.
De Nysschen countered Crain's claim that the move to the Big Apple, "can only mean that someone wants to live in New York."
"The relocation decision is entirely unrelated to the personal living preferences of any Cadillac executive. No corporation would tolerate such indulgence by its leadership," de Nysschen wrote. "It is about structurally entrenching a challenge to the status quo by reinforcing the psychological and physical separation in business philosophy between the mainstream brands and GM's luxury brand."
GM recalling 54k Cadillac SRX, HD pickup models
Thu, 01 May 2014There are more recalls to report General Motors, but these latest actions pertain to newer examples of the Cadillac SRX, Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD. With so much scrutiny on the company's recall strategy, GM is under increasing pressure to call in defective models more quickly, and it appears to be doing so here.
Here in the US, the automaker is recalling 50,571 Cadillac SRX crossovers from the 2013 model year fitted with the 3.6-liter V6 because the transmission control module programming can cause a three- or four-second lag in acceleration at low speeds. The explanation filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration states, "if the following sequence occurs within two seconds: during an upshift from first to second gear (8-10 mph), the driver then brakes the vehicle to less than 5 mph, and then accelerates again," the delay can occur. According to Automotive News, the recall effects 56,400 vehicles worldwide, and the company is not aware of any crashes caused by the problem. The fix consists of a transmission control module (TCM) reflash.
In a separate recall, GM is repairing 51 Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD pickups from the 2015 model year in the US. In vehicles with diesel engines and dual fuel tanks, the nuts that connect the fuel pipe to each side of the transfer pump between the tanks may be improperly torqued, which could cause a fuel leak. Obviously, this could be a fire hazard. The remedy is simply tightening the hardware. According to GM spokesperson Alan Adler, there have been no fires actually caused by the potential leak. "Only 21 of the trucks are in customer possession and they can be fixed anytime because there are no parts involved. The others are being fixed at dealerships," Adler said in an email to Autoblog.
