For sale my 1951 Fleetwood, series 60 special. New paint, 90% of the vehicle has been re-chromed, New seats, carpet, headliner. A lot of work has been done to the vehicle, hard to describe everything. 45000 miles, looks and drives nice.
Original engine, transmission (ALL CAR IS ORIGINAL - I FOUND IT FEW YRS AGO IN THE OLD FARM IN ROAD ISLAND). New gas tank, rebuilt carburetor, new brakes. Still 6 volt vehicle, but to bring front power windows back to life I installed 12 volt converter. Best thing is to take a look at the vehicle -- it is loaded in Bergen co NJ. Few things that has to be finished -- flying lady, front and rear emblems and quarter windows has to be re-chromed. Radio, clock and antenna are all original but not working. Car rides like a dream (but remember this is 1951 so do not look for pwr brakes or pwr steering). I am open to a partial trade -- so tell me what you have . Not on a rush to sell so please no low balers and no day dreamers. Car is available for show by appointments only so you are more then welcome to inspect prior to bidding. Have more pictures. Car comes with a clean NJ title, so there is not a problem to register it anywhere. This car sold CASH ONLY> NO OTHER METHOD OF PAYMENT IS ACCEPTED> 0 score bidders - contact me b4 bidding. your bid will be cancelled. ALSO SCAMMERS WE DO KNOW YOUR TRICKS> . I do not need to know that you are a pilot, sailor, tourist, work in Brasil, Mexico, Argentina etc and do not have your account on the plane (train, boat, or anywhere else). Please save your keystroke. |

Ghostbusters' Ecto-1 detailed in behind-the-scenes video
Thu, Jun 9 2016The Ghostbusters reboot is coming, ready or not. And along with a gender swap between the 'busters and their secretary, the team's trusty chariot, Ecto-1, is getting a refresh. It's still a specialized Cadillac, but that's where the similarities end, judging by the new featurette you see above. Instead of a 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Ambulance, 2016's Ecto-1 is a 1982 Cadillac Deville. And instead of being built to keep people from dying, the new car is meant to transport the dead. Yep, it's a hearse. It's hard not to find some kind of hidden meaning there, but this video doesn't mention it. What we have learned here is that the way the new Ghostbusters acquire their vehicle is a little bit different than it was in the original film. In the 1984 version, Dr. Ray Stantz, played by Dan Aykroyd, bought the 1959 ambulance for $4,800 – the equivalent of $11,000 today – despite a litany of problems. It was clear in the film that Ecto-1 was dilapidated long before the Ghostbusters breathed life back into it. But in the new film, the team acquires Ecto-1 from the uncle of Patty Tolan – Leslie Jones' character. And based on the film featurette, it looks like it's in solid shape before the team adds its distinctive livery and logo. You can learn more about the car, see parts of the build process, and hear the cast and crew talk about it in this two-minute featurette. Ghostbusters hits theaters on July 15. Related Video:
GM recalls 61k more vehicles in three campaigns
Sun, 05 Oct 2014Following a stop-delivery order for its new midsize trucks and a rash of recent recalls, General Motors is issuing three more campaigns covering 60,575 vehicles in North America with 57,182 of them in the US. As of October 1, the automaker has issued a total of 74 recalls (see the ridiculously long chart to the right) this year covering 26,495,070 units in the US.
The largest campaign covers 46,873 examples in the US of the 2008-2009 Pontiac G8 and 2011-2013 Chevrolet Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle imported from Australia. It's possible for the driver's knee to hit the key and make it move from the "Run" to "ACC" position while driving. GM says its Holden division is developing a fixed-blade key that's supposed to fix the problem by only allowing it to rotate toward the "On" position. There has been one crash caused by this fault but no injuries or fatalities.
The second recall is for 10,005 units of the 2004-2007 Cadillac CTS-V and 2006-2007 Cadillac STS-V because "the fuel pump module electrical terminal may overheat." This can cause a flange to melt and allow the pump to leak fuel. GM specifies that the remedy for the CTS-V is replacing the fuel module and fuel tank jumper harness, but it doesn't specify how the STS-V is being repaired.
2014 North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year finalists announced [w/poll]
Tue, 10 Dec 2013The 2014 North American International Auto Show is right around the corner, which means it's high time we found out which cars and trucks would be finalists for the prestigious North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year awards.
The finalists - three in cars and three in three trucks/utilities - are dominated by American brands, with two-thirds of the finalists hailing from either General Motors or Chrysler (don't worry Ford, there's always next year), while outliers from Mazda and Acura can be found in each contest. Here now is the list of finalists for the big prizes:
