This is a clean/attractive, problem-free vehicle.  This has been a very dependable automobile since my wife and I purchased it new in 2007.  Roughly half of its 98,000 miles have been tallied as interstate miles as we traveled from our north AR home to our 2nd home in FL (~5x/year), with the other half by my wife's local traffic use.  It has excellent acceleration/power/smoothness and it glides effortlessly down the interstate with the cruise set at 78mph. It has been faithfully maintained and garaged. Although it has a trailering package, we have never used it to pull any loads....but with its 400+hp, I am confident it would pull a sizable trailer with ease. We have experienced no mechanical difficulties with it, and I would be very surprised if the new owner has any problems for the next hundred thousand miles.

The Escalade's exterior finish has acquired a few nicks/chips; the largest of which I have included in the photos-the thumbnail sized paint chip on the front portion of the R-rear quarter panel.  As you can see from the photo, this has been repaired with touch-up paint, but it is still visible. There is NO associated rust or dent associated with this, however. Close scrutiny will reveal a few other small nicks/rock chips (corners, behind wheels) which are not unexpected on a used vehicle, its exterior is in very good condition, overall.  There are no noticeable dents or rust in the body panels.

As for the interior, there are some of the expected signs of wear, but it is quite clean for a used auto. There is a superficial scratch in the leather upholstery worth noting, which I have included in the photos.  It is in the seat-portion on the front passenger captains chair (see photo).  This is NOT a full-thickness defect, and it is definitely not a tear, but it is a visible imperfection.  Also of note, is the slight darkening of the carpet at the R-rear passenger door threshold (see pic). I would expect a professional could remove this with a steam extraction. As the pictures demonstrate, the interior is in good condition, otherwise. To protect the carpet, I purchased and installed heavy duty Husky Liner floor mats from front to back when I purchased the SUV.  I found them very practical and I will leave them in the Escalade when it sells.  The new owner may find them unattractive/inappropriate in a luxury SUV and elect to discard them......but they have definitely served the purpose of protecting the carpet for its next owner.

Mechanically, everything works.  I know of nothing on the vehicle that isn't operational.  It has served us well and never required any trips to the mechanic, other than oil/lube/brakes/tires/battery.  The tires are about 50%; should be good for many more miles (see pics).  I wouldn't hesitate to hop in this Escalade and drive cross-country in July.  It's a very reliable truck that has served us well: it has never failed to start quickly and get us to where we want to go-when we want to go there.

Overall, this is a beautiful, loaded Cadillac Escalade ESV which has been used, but not abused.  We have cared for her like a member of the family and she has served us very well for six years; we are sad to see it go.  It is not only a very eye-catching auto, but also dependable and functional. If you have been shopping for a trustworthy Cadillac Escalade ESV, this is the one you have been looking for.

I have attempted to point out those things that a buyer might notice if he/she were to walk around the vehicle, but the best option is to see/drive this vehicle. Throughout the auction, it will be available for you to examine and test drive. If you cannot see the vehicle in person, you might consider obtaining a professional inspection. If you have any questions, please ask them while the auction is active; I will answer you promptly.  Once the auction ends is NOT the time to make up your mind if you really do want to buy a truck.  All questions, inspections, test-drives and decisions should be made before the auction ends. I reserve the right to end the auction early if I sell this vehicle locally.

Ward's reveals annual 10 Best Engines list for 2013

Thu, 13 Dec 2012

Ward's Auto has released its annual 10 Best Engines award winners. The 2013 list covers the full width and breadth of the internal combustion spectrum, from a spate of efficient four-cylinders to the most powerful production V8 on the planet. As always, the entries must be available in a production vehicle in the first quarter of 2013 with an MSRP of less than $55,000. The supercharged 3.0-liter V6 from the Audi S5 held on for the fourth consecutive year, and BMW earned two spots on the list with its turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder and turbo 3.0-liter inline-six.
Ford pulled in two awards for its 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder and and the supercharged 5.8-liter V8 from the Shelby GT500. Honda matched BMW and Ford with two wins of its own. Wards awarded the 2.4-liter four-cylinder from the Honda Accord Sport as well as the 3.5-liter V6 from the Honda Accord. Chrysler, General Motors and Subaru each garnered a spot on the list as well for the 3.6-liter V6 in the Ram 1500, the turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the Cadillac ATS and the 2.0-liter four-cylinder the Subaru BRZ, respectively. GM’s Charlie Wilson was right: Stronger regulations can help U.S. automakers

Fri, Oct 26 2018

Charlie Wilson had been the president and CEO of General Motors before being nominated to become secretary of defense by Dwight Eisenhower. During his Senate confirmation hearings, he controversially said, "For years I thought what was good for our country was good for General Motors, and vice versa." And he was right. While car companies aren't necessarily the most progressive when it comes to things that might have the slightest possibility of political blowback, General Motors should be credited for doing something absolutely forthright in this regard with its announcement that it wants the federal U.S. government not to squash the California Air Resources Board's emissions requirements but to actually create a 50-state "National Zero Emissions Vehicle" program that, in the words of Mark Reuss, executive vice president and president, Global Product Group and Cadillac, "will drive the scale and infrastructure investments needed to allow the U.S. to lead the way to a zero emission future." Filing comments to the Safer Affordable Fuel-Efficient Vehicles Rule for Model Years 2021-2026 Passenger Cars and Light Trucks is one thing. But a graphic the company developed for this announcement — shown above — is something else entirely, something that is absolutely credible, creative and clever. There is a photo of a Chevrolet Bolt EV driving along a highway, which seems to be in Marin County (based on the blurred San Francisco skyline in the background). Text on the photo states: "It's Time for American Leadership in Zero Emissions Vehicles." It seems to say, in effect, "If we want to make America great again, then we're going to do it by leading in technology, not by retreating behind weakened regulations." General Motors understands that the auto market is globally competitive, and if U.S.-based companies are going to be in the game, then they'd better be able to out-innovate the companies based elsewhere, where emissions and economy standards are not being weakened. Cadillac Escalade driven by Tony Soprano for sale

Fri, Nov 6 2015

If you're a fan of The Sopranos imagining a trip to the Bada Bing, then check out this white 2003 Cadillac Escalade ESV for sale by RR Auction. James Gandolfini drove this luxury SUV in the role of Tony Soprano for the last three seasons of the mafia-themed series. Gandolfini also signed the interior to give you something to show off to your buddies. If you've ever watched the show, you've almost certainly seen this white SUV before. According to the auction listing, the series featured two Escalades, and this one was used for exterior shots. The Caddy even starred in an action scene in season 5 when Tony chased after Phil Leotardo. Gandolfini's signature appears inside twice: once with "Thanks for the truck, James Gandolfini" and again with just his name. The auction also includes a letter of authenticity that's signed by the actor, and a second document asserts the SUV's use in the series. Apparently, Gandolfini had a habit of signing messages in his vehicles from the show – at one point he wrote a threatening "Be nice to my car" message in a red Chevrolet Suburban from earlier episodes. The auction for Tony's Escalade runs from November 12-19, which still leaves plenty of time for a meeting of the families to decide to buy it. Bidding starts at $5,000, and according to The Drive, the consignor estimates a final price between $30,000 and $50,000. This sale should at least come to a more definitive end than The Sopranos did.
