Shatner's Rivet motorcycle to enter limited production with CTS-V engine [w/video]

William Shatner has entertained the world for decades, from playing Captain Kirk on Star Trek to covering songs like Rocket Man and Common People. Now in his 80s, Billy Shatz has embarked on one of his weirdest projects yet: helping to design the wild Rivet One trike with motorcycle fabrication company American Wrench. Now, you can order one too with power as crazy as the three-wheeler's design. We last saw the Rivet One's aluminum body with the styling like a menacing, art-deco easy chair a few months ago, but now Shatner has started talking about the trike's powerplant, which is based around the heart of a Cadillac CTS-V. "It's a beast with advanced guts. It's powered by an all-aluminum, computer-controlled, supercharged and intercooled V8 engine – producing over 500 HP," Shatner said to Gizmag. Keep an eye out because Shatner intends to captain the Rivet One from Chicago to Los Angeles later this year. Also, if you want a ride like Captain James T. Kirk, the company is taking requests for the trike, made on a build-to-order basis after completing Shatner's job, according to Gizmag. Prices aren't announced yet but expect the number to be as out of this world as a voyage of the Enterprise. The video below provides a further look at the Rivet One's unconventional design. Cadillac welcomes back Entourage favorite Ari Gold

With publicity for the long-awaited Entourage movie ramping up, we're finding that one of the stars of the film happens to be the handsome Cadillac Ciel Concept convertible. It makes a number of appearances in the trailers with Vince, E, Turtle, and Johnny Drama cruising about, despite the fact that it isn't actually a production vehicle. We guess it pays to be Aquaman and Enzo Ferrari. Supporting its tie-in with the flim, Cadillac has enlisted Jeremy Piven, famed for his roll as outrageous, obnoxious, abrasive, and amusing talent agent Ari Gold, to star alongside its droptop sedan. The pair are the focus of a four-minute featurette welcoming the actor's character back while expounding on the series-ending cliffhanger that basically made the movie a sure thing. Take a look at the spot, which was directed and written by Entourage creator Doug Ellin. And be sure to check out the brotastic HBO series when it makes the jump to the big screen on June 3.

GM recalling 117,000 sedans, crossovers, SUVs, pickups and vans

General Motors has issued a stop-sale to dealers and has notified the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration of its intention to recall 117,000 vehicles in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Of those vehicles, only 4,500 are at dealerships.
The affected vehicles include the Cadillac CTS and Chevrolet Impala sedans, fullsize SUVs (Cadillac Escalade, Chevy Tahoe and Suburban and GMC Yukon and Yukon XL), Lambda-platform crossovers (Chevy Traverse, Buick Enclave and GMC Acadia), heavy-duty pickups (Chevy Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD) and fullsize vans (Chevy Express and GMC Savana). The sedans and body-on-frame SUVs include model years 2013 and 2014, while the CUVs, heavy-duty pickups and vans are limited to MY2014.
GM confirmed the recall to Autoblog via an emailed statement (which we've included below). According to the statement, the issue at hand in what is the company's 69th recall of 2014 covers the chassis-control module. Automotive News is reporting that a problem in the chassis-control system could cause a short in the module, which could cause the engine to stall or fail to start. The fault could also affect the trailer-brake control, provided it's equipped.
