Up for sale is my father's beautiful 1997 Cadillac Eldorado.  He's driven it 3 years and I've maintained it for him.  He's 85 now and was beginning to get confused driving, so I'm selling the car.  It's a gorgeous silvery tan metallic color with neutral leather interior.  Non-smoker, well maintained.  Car has just over 109,000 miles and still runs great.  Has the 300 HP 4.6 liter V8 that gets about 24 mpg on the highway.  All power options work.  Bose stereo.

In the past 10,000 miles I've installed new battery, tires, rack and pinion, alternator, water pump and thermostat, and spark plugs.

It does have a very minor dent in passenger door (see picture) and a small crack in the right mirror housing (dad bumped a small post slightly).  Other than that, it's a very clean good looking Eldorado.

$500 deposit using paypal.   Balance in cash or cashier's check.  Sold to continental U.S. buyers only.

Located 60 miles NW of Indianapolis.  Fly into Indy and drive home. I will not ship the car.

No warranty.

Call Scott at 765-532-5759.

Make me an offer!

I'm also selling the car locally, so I reserve the right to end the listing at any time.

2014 Cadillac ELR is making green sexy in Detroit

Tue, 15 Jan 2013

In terms of styling, inside and out, the ELR hits the ball out of the park.
Cadillac has pulled the wraps off of its newest family member, the long-rumored, Voltec-powered, eye-catching extended range hybrid coupe called the ELR. The car makes use of the same basic architecture as the Chevrolet Volt, but has been thoroughly layered on with design, technology and performance tuning - with the goal of being a properly situated product for the Cadillac brand.

GM design boss Welburn says Lincoln isn't a Cadillac rival [w/poll]

Thu, 05 Dec 2013

General Motors Vice President of Global Design, Ed Welburn, had some dismissive words for a certain cross-town luxury brand during an interview with Car and Driver. When asked about his thoughts on Lincoln, Welburn deflected, before saying, "I don't consider Lincoln to be a competitor for Cadillac."
"They're not a global luxury brand. I don't consider them a competitor. Are they a competitor for Buick? Quite possibly. But not for Cadillac," GM's head designer explained. Welburn, who's been at the helm of GM Design North America since 2003 and is the first to hold the position of VP of Global Design, has been instrumental in the styling renaissance at GM, so predictably, Car and Driver's interview with him focused on the design aspect of cars.
During the interview, Welburn explicitly denied plans for a reborn Cadillac XLR, even as a new Chevrolet Corvette is hitting the market and strides are being made with Cadillac's V-Series performance arm saying, "We have a lot of cars that we're working on for the Cadillac brand. The XLR is not one of them right now."

How GM's grueling 24-hour test gets the kinks out of its performance cars

Tue, 27 Aug 2013

One of the biggest challenges automakers face when designing a high-performance car is making sure that it is both fast and reliable. For General Motors, any car that might be taken to the track by its owner - like the Corvette, Camaro Z/28 (shown above) and the Cadillac CTS-V, for example - undergoes a rigorous and strenuous 24-hour test by engineers at the Milford Proving Grounds, as pointed out by Car and Driver.
We've posted on this topic in the past - on a video showing the Camaro ZL1 being brutalized, for instance - but this article gives a more in-depth look at what actually happens behind the scenes... including what that poor ZL1 went through. Though the test isn't for 24 hours straight, the cars are pushed as hard as possible by some of GM's best drivers with only the brakes and tires replaced frequently.
We don't want to ruin the fun for you, but it is an interesting article that tells just some of what GM does to develop its sports cars. Check out the full article over at Car and Driver for the rest of the story.
