Season 9 of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee teases us with BMWs and Volvos

Jerry Seinfeld's successful online show Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee is heading into its ninth season, returning January 5th. It should be no surprise that the list of actors and comedians is impressive, with Kristen Wiig, Christoph Waltz, and more making appearances. Seinfeld has lined up an equally impressive list of cars for the new season. Porsche, BMW, and Volvo all have beautiful machines lined up to shuttle Seinfeld and his guest to different coffee shops. As always, it's a mix of light humor packed into a relatively short and, most importantly, free video. Catch up on the previous eight seasons now on Crackle. Playboy reveals its 2013 Cars of the Year

Vaunted men's magazine Playboy knows that its readers are nearly as interested in cars as they are in the female anatomy... sorry, we thought we could write that with a straight face. Anyway, the buff-book does occasionally fill some of its spreads with sexy metal, to accent all the rest of the sexiness.
To wit, the magazine has unveiled its feature on the 2013 Cars of the Year. Without giving us much in the way of criteria for the awards, nor a clear framing of the categories ("Responsible Ride" is a particularly challenging concept, especially when you consider that the Mazdaspeed3 was the winner), Playboy has nevertheless highlighted what we assume to be it's favorite 12 or 13 (depending on how you count) cars from the 2013 model year.
Headlining the class is the Porsche 911, which Playboy writers single out for having "remarkable electronic voodoo." BMW M5 is named "Slickest Sports Sedan" though the Cadillac ATS then follows on because "we couldn't resist giving the new Caddy a shout-out." The rest of the picks are pretty conventional (save, perhaps, the Honda Fit EV as "Ace Electric"), even if the categories and methodology are fairly wonky. Cadillac CTS-V spotted with big exhaust, new grille?

If you thought Cadillac was content to leave its twin-turbocharged Vsport as the range-topping CTS, think again. Behold, our first good glimpse at the next-generation Cadillac CTS-V sedan, sporting more aggressive styling (somewhere under there), meaty quad-exhaust pipes, and what very well could be a new face for the V-badged Caddies.
Creating an all-new grille design seems like an awful lot of work just for a prototype, so it's very possible that the vertical-bar treatment you see here could make its way into production. Our spy photographers have pointed out that they've seen this same sort of grille treatment on prototypes for the smaller ATS-V sedan, and we've heard V-series models may soon have greater differentiation from the standard vehicles that sired them - that seems especially necessary if Cadillac insists on expanding this whole Vsport range.
Regardless of how its front end looks, the CTS-V ought to be a real monster. Industry sources say we can expect to see a supercharged version of General Motors' 6.2-liter V8 under the Caddy's hood, and considering the current car already makes 556 horsepower and 551 pound-feet of torque, we wouldn't be surprised to see a decent increase in both of those numbers. After all, one of the CTS-V's main competitors, the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, is currently putting out 550 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. Could this mean a 600-hp Cadillac is on the horizon?
