2000 Black On Black Special Edition Cadillac Eldorado on 2040-cars
Davenport, Iowa, United States
A new addition to the family has forced me into selling one of my Cadillacs. I now have up for sale is a black on black interior 2000 Cadillac Eldorado ETC on 20" rims with approx. 114,xxx miles. Yes it does have the Northstar engine and as anyone familiar with Cadillac's Northstar engine knows, "head gasket" issues. I have proof of work done to fix the "head gasket" problem. I planned on keeping this so I did my research and had it fixed the right way and not the suggested GM heli coil way, which in time would have had same "head gasket" issues. After talks with Northstar Performance out of Canada and Cadillac Hot Rod Ca. I had D&D Motors install new head gaskets, ARP Racing head studs, new radiator, new belts, new plugs and plug wires, along with a trans flush and fluid change. No leaks. Yes a lot of $, but its gotta go 2 doors and a newborn not gonna work. Caddy also has Viper 2 way HD alarm/remote start with prox. and shock sensor (alarm announces arming, too close, starting, etc.), new battery, custom Cadillac floor mats, flowmaster super 44's exhaust, tinted windows, sunroof, power windows, power heated leather seats, 20 inch rims with excellent tread, one of a kind special edition chrome roof to fender trim, 7" Clarion double din dvd/cd ipod headunit, all Kicker ks series audio: 6 1/2 components with tweeters near windshield, 6x9's. Custom trunk can be sold with, but IS NOT included in price, if you want it make an offer and don't low ball I got $4k in it. Trunk has 2 12" Kicker L7's pushed by a 2500 watt Kicker Ks series amp with power drawn from a Stinger 50 farad capacitor and 0 gauge wire, a 650 watt Kicker Ks series amp drives interior speakers. I am a die hard Caddy owner and have too many to insure or drive. Eldorado is also listed and for sale locally so serious bidders/buyers only. I reserve the right to cancel if/when sold locally. AGAIN CUSTOM TRUNK IS NOT INCLUDED IN SALE. But for $2500 obo it can be.

GM claims it's first to sell million 30+ mpg vehicles
Fri, 04 Jan 2013As we continue to put together all the data for the year-end edition of By The Numbers, General Motors has announced that it sold more than a million vehicles in the US last year that achieved at least 30 miles per gallon on the highway. More impressively, GM managed this feat using multiple strategies including small vehicle size, turbocharged engines and hybrid or plug-in technologies across four brands (Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC) accounting for 13 separate models. This number will grow even more in 2013 thanks to cars like the all-electric Spark, the diesel Cruze, the range-extended Cadillac ELR and the Buick Encore compact CUV.
GM's small car sales were up 39 percent last year helping to attain this million-sales mark for 30-mpg models, and almost 40 percent of all GM sales consisted of cars with fuel-efficient I4 engines. In regards to more advanced means of improving fuel economy, GM says that it plans on having 500,000 vehicles with "some form of electrification" on the road by 2017.

2017 Cadillac XT5 cuts weight, adds room over SRX [UPDATE]
Mon, Nov 9 2015UPDATE: This post has been updated with a full set of official photos. Impressions on the interior and exterior have also been added. The attention of Cadillac fans may be focused on the new CT6 sedan, but the most important new vehicle in the New York-based company's quiver might be the all-new XT5. Cadillac officially unveiled the SRX replacement today ahead of its full debut in Los Angeles next week. Short for Crossover Touring 5, the new XT5 drops 278 pounds over the old SRX, while offering an extra 3.2 inches of interior space. The XT5's face balances the best parts of the Escalade and CT6's fascias, with a strong egg-crate grille and prominent LED accent lights. It looks good scaled to a vehicle of this size. The taillights curve up and over the rear haunches, which feed into a strong shoulder line that runs towards the front of the car. It's a solid look, and one we're looking forward to seeing in person. The interior looks very, very nice, with warm leather and wood trimmings. The steering wheel, with its large, central wood accent, looks remarkably good. In fact, it might be one of our favor parts, if only because it's such a bold piece of design. We aren't crazy about the sheer abundance of buttons on the wheel, though. All four spokes are covered, and it just looks kind of cluttered. As is the trend nowadays, the center console features a floating bridge design with plenty of storage space underneath. Our early impression of the leather-wrapped dash is positive, although as is so often the case, we need to get a hands on before rendering a final judgment. There are no major surprises under the hood. Like the current SRX, the XT5 utilizes the same 3.6-liter V6 as the CTS and ATS sedans. Start/stop has been fitted, which should provide a boost in fuel economy although no mileage figures have been published yet. Cadillac will also offer a standard 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder XT5, although for reasons that aren't clear, it's only for the Chinese market. This seems like a misstep in our eyes, considering the XT5 will challenge the likes of the BMW X3, Audi Q5, and Mercedes-Benz GLC – all of which offer four-cylinder turbos. With the V6, the XT5 delivers 310 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. While there's more total horsepower than the Lexus, Audi, or BMW, the 3.6 still faces a torque deficiency versus the turbocharged X3 xDrive35i or supercharged Audi V6. The XT5 has a standard eight-speed automatic transmission.
Cadillac ATS failing to command BMW 3 Series-like pricing as hoped
Mon, 05 Aug 2013The BMW 3 Series has long been the benchmark for small and sporty luxury vehicles, but the Cadillac ATS has come on strong in its short time on the market as a true rival in this segment. As impressive as Cadillac's new compact sedan is, however, Automotive News is reporting that the car is still lagging behind the 3 Series when it comes to actual transaction pricing.
According to the article, the average transaction price for the ATS is $39,459 while the 3 Series is at a much larger $44,764, but, just as importantly, Cadillac has about $500 more in incentives on the ATS compared to BMW. Transaction prices are much closer to cars like the Mercedes C-Class and Audi A4. Of course, this is all with the ATS trying to take on its small, sport sedan rivals with a single bodystyle and limited powertrain options compared to the numerous options available from the German automakers in this class.
This uneven battle won't last long, though, as recent spy shots have revealed that Cadillac is hard at work on a high-performance ATS-V and an ATS Coupe. No official word as to when either of these models will be unveiled, but with auto show season set to kick off, we're expecting sooner rather than later. The best news for the ATS is that the Automotive News says sales of the ATS are on target and that 74 percent of ATS buyers are new to Cadillac - two important factors for the brand as it tries to break into this tough segment.
