Fully loaded 1998 Eldorado Touring Coupe. Top of the line Cadillac. Pristine condition. All original. No accidents. 2 owner gem. Garage kept. Dual A/C, climate control, dual power seats, heated seats, power sunroof, StabiliTrak, speed sensitive steering, automatic ride control, traction control, valet speed limiter, power mirrors, power windows, power door locks, power trunk, power trunk pull down, 4 wheel disc anti-lock brakes, factory chrome wheels, padded top ... I could go on all day. This car has every factory option you could get on a 1998 Cadillac ETC.

The original 308HP 4.6L Northstar engine runs perfect & does not burn or leak oil. The transmission shifts so smoothly you almost can't tell when it shifts. I get 27 MPG on the highway & 21 MPG in town.

I am the second owner. I keep her in the garage and under a car cover. I have floor mats on top of the floor mats to protect the floor mats ....... I never put her away dirty. She has been well cared for.

The Michelins have about 5,000 miles on them. I had new brakes & rotors installed about 8k miles ago. Oil changed every 3k miles with Mobil 1 synthetic.

There are only a couple of creases in the leather of the front seats. Otherwise the interior looks like brand new. Never smoked in. No scratches in any of the interior wood trim. Carpet looks brand new. Everything works as it should except the passenger door does not unlock when you shift the transmission into park - it does unlock when you push the power unlock lever on either the driver or passenger side door panel, or by the remote entry fob. Could use new weather-stripping around the door windows (does not leak water but there is slight wind noise).

The exterior is nearly as flawless as the interior. There are 5 or 6 very slight blemishes due to normal use & age but you have to look hard to see them. The original paint will blind you if the sun hits it at just the right angle. No noticeable scratches in the paint.

This car runs, rides, handles, & functions as well as any new car.

Cadillac issues stop-sale on recalled CTS, SRX

Mon, 21 Jul 2014

General Motors has issued a stop-sale order on the Cadillac CTS and SRX, both of which were recalled late last month. Why the stop-sale after all this time? Well, um, GM apparently doesn't know how to fix them.
The stop-sale covers all used Cadillac CTS sedans, coupes and wagons from model years 2003 to 2013, as well as new 2014 coupes and wagons. The SRX crossover stop-sale, meanwhile, only covers used vehicles from model years 2004 to 2006.
Automotive News reached out to GM spokesperson Alan Adler, who told the news pub that the company's engineers were "looking at one common solution" for the affected vehicles, although "they don't have it yet."

2014 Cadillac ELR whirs into Jay Leno's Garage

Tue, 18 Jun 2013

While Jerry Seinfeld was gallivanting around LA with Sarah Silverman in a Jaguar XKE, our favorite car-loving comedian, Jay Leno, was checking out the all-new 2014 Cadillac ELR. Set to go on sale later this year, Cadillac brought its ELR to Jay Leno's Garage to show off some of its styling and technology as well as give Leno some seat time in the range-extended EV. Leno owns both a Volt and a CTS-V, and the ELR is a kind combination of the two (sort of).
In this episode, Leno spends some time talking to Frank Saucedo, GM director of advanced design, and ELR chief engineer Chris Thomason before logging a few miles on the sleek coupe. Interestingly, it seems that GM has definitely changed its tune a little since the introduction of the Volt a couple years ago; Saucedo and Leno both refer to the ELR as a hybrid, and Thomason says that it gets the "bulk of its propulsion" from the electric motors. Whatever you want to call it, scroll down to watch the latest episode of JLG with some great information and driving shots of the plug-in Cadillac.

Confident new Cadillac marketing boss ready to take on Tesla, BMW

Thu, Jun 26 2014

When there's a former BMW executive heading Cadillac's efforts to boost sales of its only plug-in, it's a pretty safe guess that the marketing emphasis won't be on environmental friendliness and tree-hugging tendencies. The General Motors luxury brand has appointed ex-Bimmer executive Uwe Ellinghaus to be its marketing chief late last year, and the German-born Ellinghaus is now saying that he's targeting potential customers of Tesla Motors, in addition to BMW, for potential growth in sales of the Cadillac ELR extended-range plug-in. Appointed to Cadillac's head of marketing last November, Ellinghaus recently told Advertising Age that GM needs to highlight the Cadillac's looks and performance. He complimented Tesla for putting more emphasis on those attributes in the Model S than on its lack of emissions or lack of refueling costs (but Tesla hasn't shied away from highlighting the EV's savings). Ellinghaus says that trying to gear advertising "for people who are tree-huggers and green-wash an entire brand" won't be successful. You don't say. So far, the ELR hasn't made much of a dent in US car sales. Through May, Cadillac, which spent about $280 million on all of its US marketing last year, sold 293 units, whereas Tesla had been approaching the 11,000-unit figure for the Model S. With that in mind, Cadillac may be working on a sportier version of the ELR, as spy shots of a test vehicle from May revealed larger brakes and wheels. You can read our First Drive impressions of the ELR here.
