1991 Cadillac Eldorado Touring Coupe 2-door 4.9l on 2040-cars

Year:1991 Mileage:126000
Location:

Naples, Florida, United States

Classic 1991 Cadillac El Dorado. Beautiful classic lines, alloy wheels, carriage top, leather interior, above average condition. I drove this car over 70 miles daily to work for most of the last year, runs and drives nice, has cruise, cold a/c, all the bells and whistles, 6 way power seat, plus power recline (both driver & passenger), electric windows, locks, stereo with cd player, satellite (not connected) blue tooth, ect.
The good and the bad...New top of the line Napa battery, new headliner, good top, good leather seats, nice carpet, factory floor mats, new catalytic converter, brand new tires, new drivers door elec window motor, Recent Mobil 1 synthetic oil, new air cleaner, plugs, wires, and dist cap and belts. Original paint in excellent condition, still nice and  shiny, 1 small bad spot around drivers door lock, one small paint bubble above molding on passenger door. Other than very minor wear and tear for 23 year old car, body is nice, paint is shiny, no clear coat thinning or wear (includes car cover). Trunk carpet clean, unstained, and all there. New electric antenna, Car is just a nice classic. While it certainly isn't a 10, it's a good 5 or 6, a great driver, and with a little work, it could easily be an 8. A classic you can proud to own and drive (and look good in).
The bad...getting to where it need struts and shocks, but rest of suspension is tight and all good. Drives great, just getting alittle soft in the shock and strut department. Trunk electric pull down don't work, but electric release works fine, and no leaks in trunk. Mileage is getting up there, although way below average for a 23 year old car, but it doesn't use or leak any oil, or any other fluids,  all good under the hood. Small tear in leather on console (see pictures). All other leather in much better than average condition. Gas door release is inop....but door opens fine and doesn't hinder use.

40+ cars that barely avoid the gas guzzler tax

Thu, 24 Jul 2014

The Gas Guzzler schedule, with mpg ratings and charges that haven't changed since 1991, lays out which fuel-swillers owe what to Uncle Sam.
I started thinking about the "Gas Guzzler Tax" - considerably less well known as The Energy Tax Act of 1978 - when I was driving Dodge's new Challenger SRT Hellcat last week. Unsurprisingly for a car that can burn 1.5 gallons of gas per minute at max tilt, theoretically able to empty a full tank of premium in about 13 minutes, the Hellcat will be subject to the Gas Guzzler Tax schedule when it goes on sale.

Next-gen Cadillac CTS-Vs caught in parking lot

Thu, 10 Jan 2013

A pair of camouflaged Cadillac CTS prototypes were spotted, and thankfully photographed, outside a grocery store in Southern California. From the image above - there are plenty more if you click over to TotalCarScore.com - it appears these could be testers for the 2014 CTS-V, but that is just speculation. We've seen the obvious "V" motif in the grille before, and there's what could be another "V" in the design of the side mirrors.
The hood on the car in the background appears to include two bulges, but the single shot that affords a tiny peek under the hood shows reveals only the airbox. Plenty of rumors, and the sight of an engine cover inscribed with the words "Twin Turbo," have caused people to wonder if a twin-turbo V6 will live under the production car's hood instead of the V8 currently there. In back, instead of the round tailpipes found outboard on all the CTS sedans, there's a pair of integrated tips in a parallelogram shape. A new shifter with contrasting stitching was spied in the cabin.
If predictions hold up it will arrive later this year. When it does, expect the body underneath all that camo to be softer on the eye compared to the current car - less science and more art. For now, hit the link to see more spy shots of what's coming.

Cadillac to move select offices from Detroit to Manhattan?

Fri, 22 Aug 2014

Under Johan de Nysschen, Infiniti moved its headquarters from Yokohama, Japan, to Hong Kong. Now at Cadillac, it appears the company's new president could be planning a relocation of at least some of the brand's operations from Detroit to Manhattan, according to a new report from Reuters.
In the case of Infiniti, de Nysschen pushed for the move because moving away from the brand's Nissan overlords would allow it a bit more freedom. It's evidently a similar case for Cadillac, with Reuters speculating that such a move would help distance the brand from the corporate culture in Detroit. A Big Apple move could also attract new talent that may have considered a job with the brand but were put off by the idea of living in Detroit.
It's important to note that if such a move takes place, it likely won't affect the folks actually responsible for developing the brand's vehicles. Instead, administrative functions, including marketing, could be the focus of the relocation.
